Deposit for 2 then add kids later?

Can we just reserve the room with adults and only send deposit for us then add kids later. Just got back and funds are short but the room we want is available (SPR). Are kids always the same price? thanks!!!

It's okay to do that, but don't wait too long to add the kids on. There may come a time when there is no quad space or no more space for children available on the ship and then you could not add them. They only allow so many children on the ship because of the children's club ratios and the ship can only hold so many people.

You did not say when you were sailing next, but that would play into how long to wait to add them.

The room is a quad! We stayed in a SPR last cruise and found it very adequate for our needs! Will try to convince hubby to make deposit soon. He wants to cruise again but is leary of economy and impending war!

I asked about this also. The responce I got was that when you added the deposit for the kids, if the rates had gone up, you would get charged the higher rate. I don't know if that is correct or not. I didn't want to take a chance so I just put the deposit for the 4 of us on my CC.

singitalso.....that theory does make sense. Same like an airline seat....if you book two people at one fare and then add more people to the ressie at a later date, those people will pay more if the fare went up.

I recently added my sister in law to a single room we had booked for my mother in law last fall for a 7 day May cruise with us.

When I called to ask about the difference in rates I mentioned to the DCL reservationist that "I guess I have plenty of time since the cruise was in May and the room was already a double". She told me that the ship capacity is based on guests and not available beds. When they get to the max number of guests they will cut off bookings regardless of available beds.

When we called back a few days later and added my SIL I then had to give them the $250 deposit for her within 7 days.
