Deluxe family staterooms on the dream/fantasy...?

To my understanding you are correct. The 4E is not as big as the other 4s interior wise and they do not sleep 5.

Last month on the Dream we had an 8C stateroom on deck 8. It had a murphy bed but NO pull down bunk. It also had the round tub.

I did a stateroom report so future cruisers would know that the room only sleeps 4. I was really surprised that it didn't have the bunk.

The actual bed configuration is some what of a mystery across several categories of rooms that needs to be investigated thoroughly, including 4a's for those booking!!!

Not all 4a's sleep 5, Not all other cats sleep 4, etc.

This subject is a popular one because it lacks any real details from DCL. Many categories have this bedding ambiguity.
No one knows unless you heard it in a room/trip report(which I would never trust for Fantasy) or from DCL directly several times.

I'm still caught surprised with bed config. reports. I thought I knew them from reports, yet I'm still surprised at several cat levels.

My concern is anyone taking what they read here as fact and proceeding with a booking without confirmation.

This site is great, but, this bedding is beyond most. Get three confirmations is my suggestion prior to booking beyond Disboards.

Not true in all cases. 7518 on the Dream only sleeps 4. In the area where the murphy bed would be is a large support column therefore not allowing a murphy bed in this stateroom.

Category 8A on the Dream/Fantasy are classified as deluxe family oceanview staterooms. None of them have split bathrooms, and some of them only sleep 3.

Well, I stand corrected on the "family" meaning. On the Magic and Wonder, "family" was used to mean that it sleeps 5 and "deluxe" was used to mean split bath. Seems they didn't stick to this system on the newer ships.
