Deluxe Dining Question

I have what may be kind of a weird question about the deluxe dining plan. I know that you get three meals a day and you can use table service or counter service for each meal, but I heard that if you use counter service it somehow counts as less points than if you use table service. So in other words, you could use multiple counter service for the "price" of one table service. I am not finding this anywhere so I am confused because I heard this from a very reliable friend who is a travel agent that specializes in Disney vacations. Does anyone know if this is true or how it might work?

My understanding is that it doesn't matter if it's counter or table - each counts as 1 credit (unless of course, it's Signature or CRT, then it's 2 credits). I think that's why some people are frustrated by the new pricing - in order to make it the best "value" you need to plan your TS reservations to get the best bang for your buck.

distherapy is right. It's not that counter service counts as fewer credits than table service - it's that counter service is a relatively poor use of credits.

You get three meal entitlements (= credits) per night of your stay, along with two snacks per night, and a refillable mug per Guest.

You can use the entitlements in any manner you want. To get the most for your money, you'd want to check the menus here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.cfm and find the one-credit table service restaurants with the most expensive menu items, and plan on sit-down meals per day.
To get the best value, you'd want to find restaurants and foods you like :teeth:
