Deluxe Digs, Delish Dining, & DISers:A Perfectly Pampered Trip for 2(Upt:8/12 pg.42)

Jen -

I am so happy that you were able to update today before you leave on your new adventure. Your pictures are stellar in this update. Just beautiful. You had such a lovely morning. That cream cheese pretzel looks amazing.

I am so excited that you are soon to leave on your next journey. I hope that you and LL have a fabulous time! Drive safely!

Oh I love the vintage shirts! It does make me sad about Mr. Toad though, I miss him!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely update and HAVE A GREAT TRIP!

I really want that Small World shirt! Maybe next time...

I'm so glad you got to visit your beloved Mansion. Every time I go I notice new details. It's just amazing!

The really great thing about taking pictures of the merchandise, at least for me, is that I can enjoy looking at them without buying all of them. We'll keep that our secret so that they don't ban us from taking pictures. I still spend my fair share of money, and I think I may have even helped Disney's economy because I've had a lot of people begin their shopping lists before they ever get there.

Great pictures! That bottle of water is one of my favorite treats. ;) I drink about ten of those a day! :)

My beloved Mr. Toad -- forever consigned to the pet cemetery of the Haunted Mansion. :(

I do like the Mr. Toad and Small World t-shirts. I think I really like the Small World t-shirt. I wonder if they will have those in July.

Ah, I love how you ended this update with the See Ya Real Soon pumpkins -- just perfect considering that you will be seeing Disney in just 24 hours! :goodvibes

Very cool update, Jen! Woohoo for you, less than 24 hrs!! I can't wait to ride HM again, that's one of the few memories I have from my trips as a kid! You just see things so differently as an adult :goodvibes: I reaaaally like the IASW shirt, but shirts that style don't look particularly good on me..I'll be curious to see what you find for shirts this time with our trip coming so closely behind yours!

Thanks for staying around Kim!! You should be very busy right now getting all your plans in line and getting ready for your trip...I really can't wait to hear all about it from you!!!!

Oh you know it girlfriend! :thumbsup2 We are still 10 days out and my living room looks like a disaster area! We are tripping on laundry baskets of warm weather clothes and there are half filled suitcases in every corner of my house! :lmao: We are going to burn a hole in our 4 parks, 1 world CD we have been listening to it so much! :rotfl2:

Love the update! Thanks for not leaving us hanging while you are away this weekend! :thumbsup2 I have only 1 very important question!

Exactly where does one find one of those amazing cream cheese filled goodies? ;)

Yay, Jen! I'm so happy you finally made it to your favorite ride in the Whole-Wide-World!! :goodvibes And woo-hoo for getting pictures of the pet cemetery! I must say, I've never had one of those pretzels...I didn't even know they existed! But I'll have to put it on the list for next time! Great update...

OOH I know the answer to the pretzel question!!! You can find them over in Tomorrowland at the Lunching Pad!! Not that I ever got one. :(

Have a great trip Jen!!!

Last night while falling asleep I was dreaming of a future trip and decided I need to do a "Pretzel Trip" where I try the various pretzels all over WDW. I want to try them all. I love pretzels. So why not?! :goodvibes That cream cheese one is very high on the list of "Must Try". Yum.

So glad you got to ride your beloved HM...and that you got your pet cemetery pictures! :yay:

YAY! An update! I knew you wouldn't leave us hanging!! You finally got to HM!! Those t-shirts are cute. I've never stopped to look at them.

I am not normally much into fall (but for the weather) - the decor, Halloween, not really my thing. But the decorations at MK are so cute!!

We have a statewide school break for two days in mid October. Maybe that would be a good time to hop down to WDW???

October would be a great time to go down to Disney...although my all time favorite time of year is January! I'm thinking of doing another trip the week after MLK in the future...perfect time and perfect weather!!!

Excellent update! We haven't seen Philharmagic in several trips - we will have to remedy that this summer. I love all the Main Street pictures with all the fall decorations. That is part of why I love taking a fall trip down there!

OOOH I'm sure Brooklynn would love Philharmagic! It is always so much fun to watch the little ones during that show!! They have a great time!!!

So love the pictures of those little pumpkins!!!!! That was by far one of my favorite decorations there this year.....just LOVED it!!!!!

Can you and LL ship one of those yummy cream cheese pretzels to me while you are away?!?!!? ;) .....................................someone...........................might....................................have..............................accidentally.............................forgotten................................to..............................try.............................one............................in................................September...............................but I'm not saying who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) FOR SHAME, I KNOW!!!!!!

Pretzel was amazing!!! I remember why I always must have one!!! LOL!!!

Awesome update Jen! Thanks for taking the time before you leave! :thumbsup2
Love the picture of you, the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine! They crack me up :lmao:
Cute t's in the shop...I have never seen them before. I love vintage style t's :goodvibes
Phew!! You finally got to HM!! :faint:
Don't you love the fall decorations! That was such a wonderful time for me to go...just starting to get cool here and it was so warm (actually really hot) when I went in October.

We will be waiting for you when you get back! Have a magical trip!!

Tracy

Had a great trip and I'm looking forward to getting back to this TR! I have so much to share about the trip!!!!

Those t-shirts were still there and I still debated getting one...but to no avail. Maybe next trip I will cave LOL!

I've got a lot of catching up to do - can't wait to read all about your adventures x

Awww WELCOME!! So glad you stopped by!!!!

Oh yay! An update !!!! WHAT a great set of photos!!!! I didn't know that Mr. Toad was in the Pet Cemetary!!! Oh I have to catch that next time!!! Definitely will stop for that! I have not studied all these little details because I usually am trying to keep up with a child!!! OH! We rode it too, BTW, and we ALL rode it, no mad dash exit out of the stretching room this time!!

Thanks for taking such nice photos, and you are definitely the prettiest of the bunch there with those step sisters!!!

Disney is amazing with all of the details!! I took some time and really got some good shots of HM!!! I love that ride!!!! YAY for everyone riding it LOL!!!! WOOT for being the pretty one LOL!

So I subscribed to this a while ago and then never seemed to comment. :rotfl: I love it!

HM is one of my absolute favorites, too; I love all the details. I need to take the time to look at it and get pictures of all the details.

Have an amazing trip with Leslie!

Aww thanks for commenting!!! Another HM lover is always welcome here!!! YAY!!! Had an amazing trip thanks!!

A pretzel trip sounds like a lot of fun...should doing it during Food and Wine since they usually have a few pretzels around during that time too LOL!!

Well I’m back from another trip to Disney and I had a most wonderful time, but I’m also ready to get back to work on this TR so I can finish it up before I go back next October!!!

So the last time I left you, it was naptime for me and Nobby! We headed from MK and drove back to SSR and had a very relaxing afternoon in our studio. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. The nap was quite refreshing. I got up and started to get ready because I had a dinner at the California Grill awaiting me. I got dressed up that evening and head out to the TTC!! I had decided to ride the resort monorail loop over to the Contemporary instead of just parking there, although I had completely forgotten about using my TIW card to get free valet parking…definitely going to be renewing that…valet parking cannot be beat. As I boarded the monorail, I was given a couple of strange looks because of my attire. I was wearing a nice black skirt and a nice top, so I’m sure those who thought I was going to the park thought I was insane, but I wasn’t I was going to dine at a very nice restaurant.

I got there a few minutes before C so I explored the lobby for a bit and took a picture of a cute light fixture I found there.

JensWDWPart3001.jpg

I hate to admit it, but the Contemporary lobby just doesn’t do it for me! It has a very detached feeling! While I know it would be amazing to stay there someday, I just don’t think it is on my MUST do list right now or in the near future. I think I need something a bit more intimate for me.

C and I met up in the lobby and headed to the 2nd floor to check in!! Check in was a breeze and soon enough we were heading up to the restaurant. We were quickly seated and had an amazing table near the windows with a great view of Cinderella’s castle. I was ecstatic…we were going to have an AMAZING view for Wishes.

Here is a picture of the table setting! You can see the Mickey pixie dust for my birthday on the table.

JensWDWPart3004.jpg

Our server was Topher and he did a great job!! He offered some great suggestions and timed everything nicely so that C and I could just have a very relaxing evening chatting and enjoying good food.

C and I both started the evening with the flatbread appetizers. We shared the BLT flatbread and the 3 cheese flatbread!

JensWDWPart3008.jpg

After the appetizers I could tell I was starting to get full so I decided to do something light for my 1st Course. I went with the Heritage Tomatoes - with Buffalo Mozzarella, Red Onion, Micro Basil, and Minus 8 Reduction. These were so refreshing and I really enjoyed the balsamic vinaigrette that came with it.

JensWDWPart3010.jpg

The bread came out after the 1st Course! It was very nice but I only had a piece of two of it as I didn’t want to fill up on the bread.

JensWDWPart3011.jpg

For my entrée I ordered the Oak-fired Filet of Beef - with Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Baby Zucchini, and Teriyaki Barbecue. This was melt in your mouth good. The filet was so tender and I greatly enjoyed EVERY single bite of it.

JensWDWPart3013.jpg

For my dessert Topher brought me out a special birthday version of the dessert I ordered. I choose to try the Bananas and Caramel - Crispy Baked Phyllo Squares Layered with Banana, Caramel, Mascarpone Mousse, and Caramelized Banana. This was also simply delicious!

JensWDWPart3014.jpg

I can’t recommend more highly a visit to the California Grill! The meal was amazing and I greatly enjoyed spending more time with Christine!!! It was a great time!!! After dinner we decided to walk over to MK to see if we could still get in, however it was very late and close to park closing. We enjoyed our leisurely stroll and when we got to the gates we realized they weren’t really letting anyone in. So C and I said our goodbyes and I headed to the monorail and she to the buses. On my way to the monorail I took a couple of nighttime shots.

My head very quickly hit the pillow back at SSR and I was off to Dreamland.

Coming Up next: Paula arrives YAY!!!
