We were at WDW last disney staying at Port Orleans Riverside, i can't say i noticed more kids / teenagers than normal but my god the parks, international drive etc you couldn't go anywhere without seeing them the place was infested with them. This was the earlier part of our trip, we arrived on 11th December.

It didn't ruin our trip or anything and we watched them performing in Magic Kingdom one day so i wouldn't worry too much.

Pop Warner week is a combination of a junior American football event and a national cheerleading event all held at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

You may witness groups of young girls dressed in cheerleading uniforms wandering around the parks. That's not too bad in itself - but they have a habbit of bursting into their chearleading routines while waiting in ride lines or while walking through the parks :)

Not sure if they will staying at the POR, I think most will be at the All Stars or Pop - they may be a small spill over to the moderates though.

I was there the week of Pop Warner last year. We were staying offsite, I know most of them stay at the Value resorts but I think some do stay at some of the moderate resorts so it may be worth contacting Disney to check as I would imagine a big group of youngsters to not be the quietest in the world (I know I wasn't at that age!). We did notice them waiting for buses etc outside the parks but they did not cause us any problems in the parks or create bigger crowds (they were low).

I'm thinking of going that same week in 2006, it is a great time of year to go :earsboy:

Has anyone been there when this was going on?
Yes
Did it affect your stay much?
No

There were definitely noticeably large crowds of teenagers in the resort (POR) and at the parks but, apart from the closure of the Indiana Jones arena in MGM one evening, it didn't really affect our trip at all. It was quite interesting seeing the preening and pampering going on to get the cheerleaders ready for their big moment! ;)

Same as Hilary!

We were there last year for Pop Warner and were not disturbed in the slightest I am pleased to say. I must admit I thought they usually stayed at the All Stars or at CBR but this may have changed.
