This has been great for me to read, one thing tho do any other solo adults collect the autographs as well, i thought it would be great to show my ds when i got back along with the photos as he has 2 books from our previous trips to dlp

I feel a bit silly riding the teacups alone, and even more uncomfortable when I did the Pixie Hollow meet and greet (a quick photo op with princess is fine, but I did not have anything to say to the fairies for a whole 20 mins)

I also have never done a character meal (atmosphere and food quality do not appeal to me)

Otherwise I do it all, including Jellyrolls and table service dining.

I would probably feel weird eating meals by myself...especially at the major restaurants. Although if I had someone to go with, it wouldn't feel so bad :)

I have done several solo trips to Disneyland and my experience was that I was the only judging what I did on my own.

On one trip I "won" a front row table at a show (part of the Million Dreams Celebration) and invited a family of three strangers to come sit with me and share the prime seats. I had a nice time getting to know them, and had a lot of similar experiences of meeting interesting people I never would have talked to otherwise.

The one thing I'm wondering about doing as a solo traveller for my first ever trip to Disney World is afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. Has anyone done this solo?

I've done a couple solo trips to Disneyland as well and I felt kinda weird eating alone but other than that it was kind of nice to go at my own pace and decide what I wanted to do at what time and not have to worry about making sure everyone else wanted to as well.

Oooh - the character tea or the sit down fancy tea? I've done the sit down tea (with a child) but did see two other "singles" having their tea solo. I admit I was jealous. :guilty:

It's such a nice relaxing tea that doing it solo would be :cloud9: I say go for it! ( I might just do it myself on my trip :goodvibes)

Yes, I did it in Sept '09. If you are comfortable anywhere else solo, this shouldn't be any different. I'm glad I treated myself and really enjoyed having something planned that was relaxing. If I ever go back with the rest of my family, I'm going to insist that at least my mom and I do this (others would be welcome to come, but I know she would really enjoy it).

Although I haven't done it solo yet, next time I do it, I wouldn't hesitate to do it solo. Last time I did it, I did it with DH, and....think "Tim the Toolman does the Grand Floridian tea". He looked so uncomfortable, it was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud during the tea. I'd do it solo without a problem.

The fancy tea is the one I have in mind. Thanks for the feedback - nice to hear reports of other solo travelers doing this too. On my Disneyland trips I was pretty comfortable on my own at table service restaurants, good point that if I was comfortable with that, then why not this too...
:woohoo:

:dance3:

Thank you so much for posting!

I am so booking that tea for my trip :goodvibes

I've done just about EVERYTHING solo so far. On my next trip in May I'm doing something that I didn't think I'd do solo...I'm going to the Hoop De Do Revue. I've been to the Luau solo but not the HDDR. The Luau was fine but you don't have that second floor people looking down on you sitting at your table alone.

Overall though I've got a fairly thick skin about that sort of thing. So the heck with what they're thinking, I'm there to enjoy the show!

I have been doing solo's for a while. I had this guilt feeling :rotfl: my first solo. It was probably the best trip I had taken. I did go to Luau solo had a front row seat and a blast. Hoop De Do Revue I sat upstairs and had even a bigger blast. They put the spot light on me and ask where I was from. The guy in the show was from my state. It was fun. When the spotlight is on you there is nothing you can see:idea:. Afterwards he came by and said hi. Pretty cool. I went solo to a fancy fish restaurant and they looked and acted like  when I said one. I had free dining. That year I went everywhere:yay: They tried to put me off in a corner when the place was near empty :confused3 I said I will sit here.:cool1: Thank you
