I remember Old Chicago and Adventureland in Chicago.

Riverview &
Playland (west of the Midway airport area, I think).

How about Fort Dells in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin? I remember the Haunted House...it was done so well with false doors, rickety balconies etc.

Oh, I just remembered one about 20 miles from my house...Aquarena Springs, San Marcos, Texas.

While the glass bottom boats still operate, the small park was purchased by Texas Sate University for a research station...it is at the headwaters of the San Marcos River, a large spring fed river with some endangered fish.

The skyride had round, bubble shaped gondolas. They also has a revolving sky cabin type ride, a collection of historical building from the "old west" period of Texas, a submarine theater featuring Ralph the swimming pig, and a fantastic restaurant. Part of the movie "Piranah" (1978) was filmed there.

For the Pittsburgh, PA area..White Swan Park near the old Airport

Also someone mentioned Sea World of Ohio. It is now Geagua Lake again. The Sea World side is now the water park side w/ 2 action movies(one 3D) then the other side is an amusement park. The owners of Cedar Point took it over and doing a complete remake of the park. The Peanut Gang is there at the park. They have a website. We took our 5 yr old DS last summer. Cute and clean. They are still in the process of updating.

I can't believe that it took that long for Swan Lake to come up in this thread! My mom also always talks about West View Park.

I miss the old Sea World. It was so depressing there when Six Flags had it! I hope that Cedar Fair (owners of Cedar Point and others) do a better job!!!

Riverside in Agawam, Ma. It is now a Six Flags, used to go all the time when I was a kid!

I was hoping someone else might mention Libertyland. I just had to go look online and they closed down in October of this year. Sad...

I was disappointed, too. The park was just OK, but the Zippin Pippin was one of the best wooden coasters I've ever ridden. With the park gone, there's not much else in that area any more.

I miss BOTH those places. I remember that old rickety wooden rollercoaster at Bertrand Island. It was GREAT! But definitely unsafe LOL!

And I drive past Fairy Tale Forest every day. Soooo sad! That place was so cute at Christmas time with all the lights. I was going to post these two as well. And of Course Action Park aka Accident Park which is now Mountain Creek. LOL!

This one? Nope, this water park was in North Texas, and I am positive that it was Sesame Place, but it was shut down.

After a little searching, yes there was a Sesame Place in Dallas according to Wikipedia, and I rememeber going to it once.

sesame place was out by dfw airport, there was also seven seas marine park out by arlington stadium, parts of it are still by the wyndham hotel.
two animal parks were in the area: world of animals (east of dallas), and lion country safari in grand prairie, tx.
white water (water parks), garland, tx and grand prairie, later boardwalk amusment park.

we were at opryland hotel in '03, and walking over the mall, where the park was, i passed the river raft moat, which are the rocks you see. someone from the area told me that when six flags was considering buying, the river would prevent roller coaster expansion, so they only bought fiesta texas, and the gaylords shut down opryland and decided they could make more leasing to the mills mall people. sad.

Circus World..off I-4, I can remember going there when my brothr and I were little, he must have been about 5 and I would have been about 10. It then sat empty for a while later becoming Baseball City.
