Decorating your resort room?

I've been trying to debate whether or not to bring some halloween lights for the window. Will airplanes allow them in my carry-on?

I just did this to get them off nicely and amazed the DBF.....:lmao:

I ran water over the backside of them until it showed the Mickey Head image and then carefully took the edges off around the color and there was no cutting involved!!!! I put them under something heavy to dry and flatten out and them I am going to maybe laminate them... not sure yet.

Have fun decorating! 11 days and I CAN'T wait to decorate our PoP room!!!

If you look around the edge of the head there is a break in the paper you can peel the head right off without water. You just have to be careful.

Yes, they should allow you to bring lights in your carry-on. Last November I brought all the materials in my carry-on to decorate my POP window - lights, timer, extension cord, garland, ornaments, a little xmas tree, tape, glue, etc.. and no one at security batted an eye. The only thing I had trouble with were the scissors. The blade was short enough, but pointy.. so they took them from me. Oops!

Edited:
I should have said, I came with all of this from Canada... so I imagine anyone traveling from a US location to MCO should have no trouble at all!

So excited....got some great ideas on this post...going Oct 6....now I have to go out for some Mickey Halloween decorations....I loved the POP window. How did you string the letters down and did you just make them yourself??? The window looked awesome!!! :)

OK, this may have been asked and answered a bazillion times, but I borrowed some mickey heads from HD, but I would like to hang a pen or sharpie on the door in case any DISers walk by and want to sign! HOW does one attach a pen to a door?? :lmao:

For those of you who decorate your windows and doors while at Disney, what do you do? I read on disboards about someone who put a dry erase board on their door. Has anyone done that? Does it get good response? I wondered what was allowed and not allowed.

Visiting in 24 days!!!

A lot of people decorate in fact, I love walking around the resorts looking at the different windows! For my 16th birthday trip my mom decorated the window of the room that my sister and I shared along with our best friends. It was really cute! Housekeeping even made me a towel birthday cake and put it in the window!

Thank you. :)
I cut all the Mickeys and the POP letters on my Cricut then glue dotted them to fishing line. I made little loops at the top of each and hung them from mini suction cups I got at Target. :)

I had to go there tonight to pick up RX for DD12. So I bought the mickey head and the ghost mickey and the orange pumpkin of Minnie and Mickey heads together.

We are heading to the World on Halloween weekend and I am planning on making a different window scene every day.

Not sure how you can attach a pen without a board, but Dollar Tree has Disney Wipe-Off Boards with pen attached for $1.00! Just attach magnets on the back and you are good to go! A couple of years ago I made a large Mickey head out of a piece of posterboard and laminated it. I attached a pen with yarn and taped it on the back. This worked great too!:thumbsup2

We took a long piece of crochet - yarn and tied one end to the pen cap (under the clip) and the other end to the metal part of the inside of the door at the top that moves when you open it....If that makes sense.

Here is a picture of our window from our last trip. All of the NBC charactors are paper 3-d models found on the internet. I did add purple lights after I went to walmart and got an extension cord. I forgot mine at home

I would love to decorate my room at AKL next weekend! It's our honeymoon and would like to get responses from other members of the dis. What are the mickey heads at home depot? There is a home depot 5 miles from the house and I want the green mickey heads to put on my door! Will someone please tell me how to get them?

In the paint chip area there is Disney paint with the chips shaped like Mickey. Get the "alien green" ones (if there are any left :lmao: ) I cleaned out the one by my house! I laminate them and hang them off of my bags and the extra's go in the window of our hotel (this year we'll be at POP!)
