Decorating your resort room?

does anyone use the self-adhesive laminating sheets? If so, how do they work? I was thinking of using them and then putting a hole w/ a hole puncher and hanging up our things w/ suction cups to the windows.

If the self laminating sheets are no good, then does Staples laminate things for you and if so how much is it?

Thanks!

I have used the self-adhesive laminating sheets many times. In fact I am going out to get some this afternoon. I use them to laminate the Epcot passports that I made from cardstock. They are really easy to use. I made some window decoratings using my Cricut, but I don't see a need to laminate them as they will be inside. The only time I would use them for in terms of room decorations, is if you will be putting them on the outside of the door.

I used them for the inside of my window at ASSp, and was glad that I did, because the windows had so much condensation, everything would have run if I hadn't! They are fantastic!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I went to HD and borrowed a few and I wondered what everyone does...do you actually cut the head off the sheet, or do you tape the WHOLE paint sample (which means you can actually see the color name) to the door?? :confused3 I've cut a few off, but I'm not that great cutting and it's time consuming!

I soaked mine in a shallow pan of water. The color head comes off after a few minutes, then I rubbed the paper backing right off.

Ooooo...I like the idea of self laminating sheets. Where can I buy these? I'm assuming somewhere like Joanns or Michaels, or even Staples?

I just bought mine at Staples the other day. It was 10 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11" self laminating paper for $9.99. :)

here's a pic of our window at All Star Sports Dec. '08- I let the kids do what they wanted to with it. I found the window clings at the dollar store and the Minnie tree at Walgreen's. My fav. part is the garland made out of red and green Mickey heads from Home Depot ( I saw that idea on here, but have no idea who the original poster was).

I saw them @ Staples.com so I guess the store would sell them as well, may head over there today.

Didn't see them @ AC Moore though when I Was there last week.

We decorated our room window with Princess & Winnie the Pooh clings at All-Star Sports 2 yrs ago. It was nothing fancy, but my kids loved doing it!

I haven't visited this thread in a while and just realized I forgot to post pictures of the window from my last trip (Dec 2009). I put silver tinsel garland and tiny LED lights around the window and the silver tree. I made the little snowflakes from a paper punch and stuck them to the window with a little glue from a gluestick. The Christmas ornaments were hung with thread from the top of the window(taped on w/ masking tape).

One night after coming back from the parks, I noticed some ornaments were missing from the tree... then found this on one of the beds once we entered the room:

The next night the tree had grown!!

After mousekeeping made the little towel tree for me, I wrote them a little thank you note on my white board, "Thank you for the towel tree! I love it!". Then the next night they made the big towel tree for me.

So my advice.. if mousekeeping does something nice for you (creative towel animal, display w/ your stuffed toys, etc)... make sure you think them!

I am going down the weekend after Thanksgiving I never even thought about decorating the windows like that those are awesome pictures and ideas. I love scrapbooking and crafting so I am excited to come up with my concept. I had checked in the other day with the disneyflorist to see how much they charged for in room decorating I can't believe the price they quoted me for what it was. Are you allowed to pack christmas lights and bring them in the plane? My cousins birthday will be that friday so I am going to decorate her room for her birthday and my room for christmas. I am excited to start planning.
