Decorating your resort room?

Our local Walgreens has orange pumpkin lights, really nice Disney window clings, and a couple other Disney Halloween decorations!

Thanks for the info! I have a few things to put on the windows from our last trip but it's not all Halloween related so this visit I would like to keep it totally seasonal. I think I will stop at our Walgreens on the way home tongith to see what they have.

Hi...

The DIS board standard is the "Alien Green" (Sort of a yellowish-green color) Mickey Ears paint sample from Home Depot's Disney paint department. You can pick up a bunch of them and use them to decorate your door or windows. Maybe make a sign saying "It's-Our Honeymoon!" on each Mickey and leave some blank ones and a pen for people to leave you little messages. Some people (like me!) take the Mickey ears and reinforce them on posterboard, laminate with clear contact paper, add a pin back and wear it to the parks. You can also tie a lime green ribbon to your purse, backpack, or luggage!

Hope your trip is wonderfully magical!

wait im really confused why green?

That is the Dis'er color. If you see another person in the park with a Lime Green Mickey Head (LGMH) then you know their a fellow Dis'er.

I thought I had posted this pic of our window at POP from last year but I could not find it when I went back through the thread to our date of return. So I'm posting it again in hopes of helping other peeps out and to thank the other peeps on the thread who helped with with the ideas! Thanks!

The Mickey heads say: In Our Magic Place Where Dreams Come True

I got some Halloween Disney window clings at the dollar store that I will put up along with a big green "Do you DIS?" mickey head.

I got purple spiderwed lights for our window. We also bought window clings, glittery "happy halloween" stand up, a "happy halloween" doormat, and a couple of doorhangers. Whee!

Well it's our first time to stay at a Disney World Resort (Pop) and our trip is coming up! Oct 3-10th Thanks to all of ya, we have so many awesome ideas! I've got some goodies to decorate our window with.
I'm a little nervous because I want to hang lights, but I keep thinking about a potential electrical problem :scared1: (lol) We are bringing a surge protector and the lights are purple halloween ones for indoor/outdoor. I'm hoping someone can bring some peace of mind on it.
Everyones posts on their decorations look fantatsic! :woohoo: Makes me pretty excited

=D

No worries! on all of our trips to pop (which are a lot) we hang the icicle lights around the window and we've never had any problems. we also bring our step cord so it's easy to turn off every night!
have a magical time!

Don't be nervous about the electrical, we never had a problem while we were there, and the mini lights we use do not ever get hot. We would plug them in each evening before going out for the night so they would be on when we got back to the room after the parks closed. It was so neat to see them lit as we were getting closer.:)

Does anyone know where to find a timer for the lights?

DH has picked them up at Home Depot and Menards.

there seems to be conflicting info on this on the boards, so i am wondering if any of you know the true answer....

Will magnets stick to the doors at CSR?? I have some window clings made already, but was thinking of decorating our door too.
I just want to know if i can use magnets,or if i have to use that tacky/putty stuff.

thoughts?

Man I miss Menards. We had one in ND but not here in TX.

=D It also sounds like a great way to navigate back to your room! I think the nervousness is from our 2 week mark before the big trip. :yay:

-- Thanks again for the replies, I'm feeling more confident :goodvibes

OMG !!! Can't wait to decorate my window at POP. Leave 9/25 ( single digits now!). My daughter might think I"m a bit hokey for doing it but I think once she sees it she'll think it's great. Either way, I'm doing it! I"ve got everything ready - now ,just waiting!:woohoo:

We just got back this morning at 4:00 a.m. We flew out of Orlando to Atlanta, then to Detroit. From Detroit we had a 2 1/2 hour car ride home to Muskegon....We decorated our window with lights and the cut out Mickey heads I took from Home Depot. They really didn't care and the paint girls thought it was a really neat idea. I also had the gel stick ons with pumpkins and bats. At night the window was really cool. It had lots of great comments.
Each night we were welcomed back by the only lighted window...I'll try and get a picture posted......364 days until we return.

Yes magnets will stick to the door at CSR. We always decorate our windows with static clings and magnets on the door.
