Decorating your resort room?

I just returned from my local Walgreens and they had Mickey clings and Mickey in the shape of pumpkins on a light string and I got a battery operated Mickey shaped pumpkin, made of some kind of squishy plastic. Since we will be gone for 3 weeks, I can't really decorate my house so I will be decorating my window and room!

My Walgreens had no Disney window clings. They had some other cute stuff...light up mickey ghost & pumpkin, string lights, lawn decorations.

I DID find Mickey & Minnie & Princess window clings at Pathmark (supermarket) for $1 each! THAT was exciting. LOL Thought I was going to have to go window cling-less.

OK - so I leave in about 13 hours and I've gathered some things to decorate my window with at POP Century... I've asked for the 70's , but not sure if I'll get that building. Anyway , leave a message if you want. I'd love to meet some other "dissers".:woohoo::banana::woohoo:

We just got back from POR and didn't have any problems with our decortions.
I had black and orange Mickey heads on the windows. Along with the lime green ones. We had a light up Mickey ghost and colorful halloween lights in the windows. What a way to welcome back the family from long days at the parks..

Did you leave them plugged in all day or used a timer?:confused3

I do not have a Home Depot near me. If anyone has any mickey heads, I would greatly appreciate some. I could paypal you a little $$ for shipping.

We turned on our lights when we left in the late afternoon. Around 4:00 or so and never had any electrical problems. I had halloween colored lights. Purple, green, and orange.
Looked great. We have never used a timer.

....I thought I had posted this pic of our window at POP from last year but I could not find it when I went back through the thread to our date of return. So I'm posting it again in hopes of helping other peeps out and to thank the other peeps on the thread who helped with with the ideas! Thanks!

TK...the names that you have on your window...are those window clings? If so, did you buy the window cling paper and print them yourself. I have names that I want to put on your window in December. This will be my first time decorating our resort window...actually the thought never entered my mind until I seen this thread...now I'm obsessed :goodvibes

Yes they are winow clings, well I went to Office Depot for their "Injet Window Decal". Make sure when you are setting your printer that you are setting it for "mirror" image so that when you print your names they print backwards. Otherwise you will have to stick them on the outside of your window. I made that mistake last year and felt like a bonehead! :confused3

Just an FYI!:)

Does anyone decorate if they are staying off site? :confused3
We will be at a Downtown Disney Hotel and celebrating a birthday, so I LOVE :lovestructhis idea, but not sure if we can do it in a DTD resort.

TIA!!

Thanks. Glad you told me or I might have done the same thing. I plan on going all out with the decorating...window cling names; extra small Christmas tree; garland; lights; and stockings. The kids are going love it. Oh and did I tell you it's a surprise for them. They have no idea that they are going to spend Christmas at Disney World!!! :cool1: I'm thinking of trying to make some t-shirts too. Any experience with that?

We are decorating our doors and windows, we ahve a couple rooms as we have a couple of families traving together. I was so excited to find some Disney Halloween Clings yesterday at the dollar tree. They had been out every time I had been in before that!! Goth them just in time! I can't hardly wait our trip is almost here!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Your welcome!

What a wonderful surprise for your kids, their going to be so surprised and happy when they find out! I think that is so awesome when parents do that for their children, have a wonderful time!

I do not have experience doing t-shirts but I'm sure someone on the "DISsign thread" could help with that. I was planning on making iron-on applique's this trip for t-shirts we want to wear to the Food & Wine Fest at EPCOT, but have not gotten around to it yet. My DSis has experience with it and said there is a type of print paper for iron-on's similar to the window cling for the printer so I was going to check Michael's or JoAnn's and try to find it.

Hi Yall!
I just wanted to let you know about a great find that I happened upon. The printable window clings are great, but kinda expensive. I found them at staples for under 10 bucks!!!! I never had seen them there, but they printed GREAT:banana::banana::banana: I thought that I would share my great find!

Hey Cj! Thanks so much for the info about the Staples window clings, I've been paying $14.99 at Office Depot! I'm heading to Staples when I buy them next time!

We're all set for our big halloween trip! We'll be decorating the inside of our CR tower room with clingies, green mickey heads, garland, and the works. Just too bad we won't be able to bring a pumpkin with usXD Oh well, I'm sure that'll be the last thing on our minds!~

One time I went to Home Depot and got a bunch of different paint cards with the mickey heads on them.

I cut out the heads and strung them on a ribbon which I taped to the window. then I also added window clings I got at the Dollar Store.

I most likely will never do that again because it took quite a bit of time. I'd much rather spend the time having fun in the parks. I even had to clean the window since I don't think it got cleaned often.

Not the best picture but it looks like all of my pics of the window came out bad.

I have all of my window decorations ready to go too. I decided to go with a Halloween theme, orange lights, and Disney Halloween window clings that I made.

Your window looks really nice!:thumbsup2

Hi all!

Everyone on this thread inspired me so much, I decided to decorate my window too. We came back from ASMu last week and I didn't see another decorated window which I was bummed about. My daughter painted the Mickey head for me and I did the ghosts which glowed in the dark. I did eventually fix the ghost that was blocking my pirate pumpkin. I hope you like it (and I hope I did this right).
