Decorating your resort room?

That is our countdown calendar!!! See my swiped Mickey heads???!!! (Mardi gras colors). I also used the little hands and glass slippers and "sparkles" off of the idea cards from the Disney paint section. I used someone elses idea for this countdown calendar so this is not all my own idea. I got it from a friend on the Feb 2008 boards who got it from someone else...

Anyway- I am going with this thick cardboard and I am going to paint it gold(like this) and cut it out in the shape of Mickey's head!

That is a great idea! I LOVE it! Next Spring we are going to Disney with my college age daughter and 4 of her college friends. The girls are SOOOOOO excited. I have started sending them email of "Fun Tips" I am going to make one of these for my daughter to hang in her dorm!!

Thanks!

Have a wonderful trip! we look forward to seeing the pictures!

Don't know about Wilderness Lodge, but I always put out a string of lights on my balcony at BWV. However, we were having a grand gathering minnie-meet and each of us had a small sign for our door...and ours went missing after the first day. Can't say for sure that the management took it down tho and not a word was said. I LOVELOVELOVE having a strand of small minilights on my balcony. I leave them, and an extension cord, in my owner's locker. This trip I'm taking a stand of pumpkin heads for Sept 28-Oct 30.

anyone ever decorated their rom for their OWN birthday

since just myself and DS9 will be there, I am wondering what to do . .

WHEW! Thats a lotta info tog et thru, admittedly I skimmed a little BUT I got some great ideas for our upcoming trip!

We are 5 adults staying in an ASMusic Family Suite, so thats 2 windows and one door to voer. The other 3 people coming with DH & I have never been to WDW so I def wanna decorate for them! I need to head to HD and see about some more LGMHs and some other colors and maybe to Staples for some lime green construction paper. I think I wanna make some big mickey heads to pack and take with us, and then if the others want to they can keep them!

Anyways thanks again to everyone for all the awesome ideas! Keep those pics comin!

I don't think that is too early to decorate for Halloween. MNSSHP will already be in full swing then, so I say Go for it!

We leave on Friday & will check into POP on Saturday. I've been lurking here and getting some great ideas. We will be 5 adults in 2 rooms, so 2 doors & 2 windows.

I don't really have a theme, but I do have Lots O' Stuff. My Dh thinks I've lost my mind :confused3

I have a poster board for each window that I am going to write "Foxfiregrrl's Fantastic Family Frolic" on (it will be me, dh, mil, mom & dad). Also on the poster will be cut outs of various Disney characters & various Disney stickers. Then I have 7 or 8 coloring book pages of Villians that I colored in - those will be window decor. One string of "lime" green lights (my window ;) ). One set of Princess window clings. For my door I have a dry erase board and then I have various colored Mickey Heads to share on both doors.

Whew! I think that is it! I was originally going to only do our room, but my collection got out of hand. So, now I'm doing ours and my parents. :woohoo: More decorating fun! :woohoo:

I can't wait!! I'll post a picture when we get back!
Thanks for all the great ideas!

Thanks for all the ideas guys! We'll be there Sept 29th-Oct 7th. I haven't started packing my clothes yet, but yesterday I did pack all my window decorations. Hey, pack important things first. Right?

I spent all weekend cutting out orange, black, purple, and lime green Mickey Heads. I've stuck magnets on the back of the lime green ones for the door. I made two garlands with black ribbon and black and orange Mickey Heads. I won a really neat Disney Halloween poster off a guy in Hong Kong that was given out last year at their MNSSHP. It has alot of the Disney characters dressed in Halloween costumes running away from the WDW Hong Kong castle with ghosts chasing them. I plan to hang it in the center of the window. I will then have the orange and black Micky head garland in a swag just above it. A friend loaned me a set of pumpkin Halloween lights that will be hung across the top of the window. I bought a set if purple lights that will go along the window sill. On ebay I won two sets of Halloween window clings (a villains and one of the Disney characters in costumes). I then bought two more sets of clings at Michaels that have jack-o-lanterns and ghosts. Also at Michaels I bought some flat wooden Halloween ornaments that I painted and then applied glitter and little movable eyes to, that I'll hang in the window with suction cup hooks. I'll use those same hooks to hang some little glow in the dark skeletons I bought at the Dollar Store. Michaels also had some little flower pot Halloween characters ( a spider, a vampire bat, and a ghost) that I made to go on the window sill, along with a collapsible lime green Halloween candy basket. I plan on filling in empty spaces on the window with the purple Mickey heads and will also have purple, orange, black, and lime green Mickey Heads scattered on the window sill between the flower pot characters and the lime green basket. The extra orange and black Mickey Head garland I may hang around the door frame. I accidentally got more orange and black Mickey Heads than I needed, so I made a second garland in case I needed it. What do you think? Got enough stuff.

We'll be in the preferred building (calypso) at AS Music and requested bottom floor. If anyone sees it, feel free to sign one of the lime green Mickey's on the door.

Hi everyone!
here are my window pics as promised!
Sorry they are not very good :sad1: I had a few people asking me why I had done it :confused3: they just didn't seem to get it, but hey I had fun and we could always see where our room was!
I will definately do it again,,, we got a few notes left on the door by various people who were staying in the same building (we were room 3461 in the 50's at POP) and I got a couple of notes from other dis-ers. Hope you all had as much fun as I did!

I too have joined in on the Mickey head bandwagon! LOL I went to HD two weeks ago, and in my first attemp got 30 Mickey heads. LOL 13 Lime Green and some other Various colors. My DF thinks I am a little strange, but hey I am a Disney nut! LOL I will have to think of some great Honeymoon Disney Decorations and will show photos once I think of some ideas..

I have really enjoy reading everyone's posts and love seeing the photos! Thanks for sharing everyone! :thumbsup2

WOW! that is a great looking window tracipierce. i'm jealous! where did you find cindy in a green dress?

now i know everyone has probably answered this question but it takes forever to go through all the pages and i have to be in class in ten minutes, but i was wondering what is the best material to do a door sign. i was just going to use a sheet of paper but my brother said the weather might mess it up. my mom mentioned a dry erase board but i'd like to keep all the messages i receive. so....any ideas?

thanks in advance!
