i never realized how hard it would be to plan our next trip.

this will be the very first DVC trip but not our first WDW trip.

We've stayed at some really nice resorts but this trip is different - we're going home for the first time.

but here's the thing.

we want to stay at ALL the DVC's but don't have enough days or points :(

so we thought 7 days at AK and 7 at OKW with 1 or 2 nights cash at POR since we don't know what time we'll arrive and it makes no difference if we stay at HoJo's, Holiday or a disney hotel since we aren't going to the park but staying at POR would kick start our WDW mindset.

but then we're thinking if we're staying at AK then we should try to get concierge for a couple of days just to try it out. so working out all the points we're 1 point - 1 stupid little point short of 3 nights concierge level

and since we'll have to book the entire trip at AK first to make sure we at least have reservations before the 7 month window opens at OKW we're short 7 points for the 14th night and can only book 13 nights at AK and hope we get room for the full 7 nights at OKW.

then and only then can we switch 2 of the nights at AK to concierge but i fear they well be sold out by then :(

PLUS do we do DDP DDDP ap with the DVC discount and the DE card

agrrrr my head is about to explode.

My suggestion is to go and have a good time. You have 50 years to try Concierge and all the other resorts. If you can't work it out for the missing point/points.....go do it and enjoy your stay. Don't get so caught up in the resort hopping you are constantly moving. You already have one move from POR to AK than AK to OKW....I think that is plenty. Save concierge for a short trip later.....I think you are better off having the time to explore the resorts without worrying about losing your concierge services and not getting enough out of them. Plus you haven't even talked about the parks and restaurants.

I personnaly would do AP's with DDE for your trip. We don't eat near enough on DDP, much less for 14 days! With AP's you can come and go as you please from the parks without using up precious "days".

well here's our schedule we've worked out so far. it's pretty complete - more complete then i know most people do but planning is part of the fun for us plus we have to make adr's for the table services restaurants so we need to know what we're doing.

we figured we'd print it off and tape it to the door so we know where we're going each day

plus i've also made daily cards i'll put in my purse for quick reference.

Yea I can read it. Thanks!

What dates are you going? How do you know the times and EMH if you are going in 2009? Just guessing based on past calendars? or have they never changed? Plus you have P&P listed as well, how sure are you of these dates?

And as far as your original question, I would just skip concierge this time around.

i dont know the times - those are the times for May 08 - i was just trying to get the general idea. once the 09 times come out i'll change them and if we have to move days around that;s ok

Wow, I love the spreadsheet! What kind of program did you use, and more importantly, how much time did you spend on that?

You need to read my thread......you sound just like me. ;)

it's an excel program and didn't spend too long on it - just a matter of how many days and where to stay.

we always get a 10 day park pass and go to MK and EPCOT 3 times each AK and Studio's twice each we just added the water parks this year.

we'd have shortened it by 2 days if we weren't doing the water parks but dd will be 3.5 then and loves the water park we went to last year in Toronto.

if you want a copy i'll send it to you.

you can add your own details to fid your vacation.

Dude, what will it take to get a copy of that? It is awesome!

i'll email you a copy for 1 point :thumbsup2 then we can stay in the concierge LOL

na what's your addy and i'll email it.

oh that's so funny - i did start reading your post after i posted mine and thought hummm sounds like me LOL

ok - i've gotten a few requests for the chart which i'm more then happy to email out.

if you are asking for it can you please tell me if you want the excell 2 week chart or the word daily sheet (which by the way gets printed on half a page then cut, folded and clued together and laminated to make a little sheet to sleep in a purse, fanny pack or back pocket) or both.

thanks.

I also want to credit someone for the idea but can't think of who's thread it was that i saw it in - sorry

:)
