Also, I misunderstood the "open house" term I kept seeing on the boards. Actually there are "open house" activities all through the cruise where the entire family can go to the activity together. I didn't see anything really on a specific time to go the clubs a first time.

We have some other girls that age in our group and I believe Christopher is arranging a meet and greet at the start of the cruise too. My daughter is 5 and she will be in the same area too. Although, I don't know how she feels about staying without us. But she is always looking for friends. Asking everyone she plays with for a few minutes to be her friend.

I found you can make the Fish extenders out of just about anything. I have seen duck tape ones, some made of clothes, some made of bags connected together. Or even just buying a hanging organizer of some sort and decorating it. As far as sewing, you can do pretty much anything there too.
You could staple the main pieces together then cover with glue and ribbon, so the staples can't be seen.
There is iron on stuff called heat bond. It comes in all sorts of sizes and you just iron to your fabric then to the other fabric to make it stick. It comes in various thickness and strengths. (this would be my choice if I didn't sew)
If you do glue I would suggest getting fabric glue. But feel the iron on adhesives will hold better.

Try googling disney fish extender and select image search at the top. I did that and just saw one that was a modified diaper stacker. I am not sure how but I am sure it could be made to search just these boards too and I have just scoured the messages here too and found loads of ideas.

We are not arriving early for Disney, but going there on Thursday and enjoying Magic Kingdom on Friday. But now were not so sure I didn't realize how early we could be there on Thursday, so were debating a relaxing day or taking in another park or something. But we drove and that is a 2 day drive home with the little ones, so we will have to see.

Yes it seems it is going faster now, hard to believe. I have been dreaming LOL of this cruise since 1999!!

Aww, that is so sweet. yes, my Olivia is like that too, always looking for new friends - I'm sure they will have lots of fun together and it's great that we'll get to meet in person at the start of the cruise. Thanks, Christopher for organizing!

I don't know if anyone is doing personalized things for the kids, my girls go by Ali for Alexandrea and Eli (pronounced Ellie) for Elizabeth.

Also I like seeing the pictures in signatures, probably make for recognizing each other easier, but how do you add them?

On another note, I'm starting to investigate the making of the fish extender -and although they are expensive to buy, the thought of purchasing one is looking better and better to me! LOL...

I'm not a big fan of sewing (and don't have the talent my mom has for it anyway...) but wondering if I can glue one together? hahaha....


Is anyone else arriving early and staying at WDW before hand or are most of you arriving the day of Dec 9? we are coming in early so just wondering what everyone else was doing.

Here's the fish extender we purchased. It's very reasonably priced, came in the mail really quickly and the quality seems to be pretty good. We asked for it pretty plain and we will add our own iron-on decorations and the like. We are not sewers, either. This seemed like a good way to go.

If you've got more than two people she will add pockets... but I feel like one pocket for the Adult(s) and one for the Kid(s) would be just fine.

if the link doesn't work for whatever reason, just go to ebay and search for "Fish Extender"... it's like the 2nd one down and it's 22 bucks... way less than some of the ones we saw.



Ordinarily I'd like to be in Florida at least one day before and relax and have time to go out to breakfast before heading to the port... but vacation days didn't work out that way this time. We'll be flying in the morning of the cruise and leaving the evening we return.

I can't wait to meet everyone either!

In regards to cheap fish extenders. I received a suggestion for using christmas stockings!

I'll send out the revised list soon. Had a family emergency and had to fly back to Delaware for a few days. Just catching back up.

Just got off the 7 night Wonder Pacific Coast cruise! Now, to start thinking about this one! We usually fly in the day before, but just stay at the airport Hyatt, since it's around 5pm or so when we get there. However, this year, we're going to WDW afterwards and staying with friends at Saratoga Springs. We have a grand villa! Cindy and I are probably going to use Christmas stockings for our FE. The one we have is decorated for Halloween. We'll see what we can come up with.

We are flying in Friday night and spending Saturday at the parks. We were just going to spend the day at Magic Kingdom but DH pointed out Test Track will be reopened. *sigh* so many choices, I don't know what to do.

I got our FE done today! I am glad it's done. And now I understand why they are so expensive! I know I am not a professional seamstress or anything. But wow that took a long time. I am glad ours is original though I wasn't able to fully achieve the look I had in my head. My daughters picked out the fabrics.

We are so excited to be going on this cruise. I can't believe it is just around the corner!

This will be our first cruise as well, celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our children (DS, 20 & DS 22) will be meeting us at AKL afterwards for four nights but it will be just the two of us on the Dream.

Congratulations! We will be celebrating our 15th anniversary on this cruise. Our's is the 13th. When is yours?
