A little help from the new ones to the FE would be great just numbers on male, female in room and numbers of boy or girls with ages? Just some information we can work with till we get a new FE exel sheet.

Last spreadsheet had 11 cabins with a total of 36 people (10 adult males, 12 adult females, 11 girls, and 3 boys). I think three more cabins want to add not for sure on those numbers yet. Girls totally outnumber the boys on this trip...go girls ;-)!!! For the kids the ages range from 3 to 14 years.

If anyone is overwhelmed by the amount of people, just remember you can give a cabin gift instead of a person gift. I'm giving individual gifts because I had 100 of something made that is appropriate for any age. But when I was on the Fantasy in February with 60 cabins and tons of people, I just gave one gift per cabin. The most important rule of a FE gift exchange is Have Fun!!!

Tracy the spreadsheet has the children's ages in parentheses next to their names. Each one should be in column that says girls or boys. I did not ask for adults ages but did ask if they had a special event anniversary or birthday. if anyone sees something missing that you would like to add, let me know. I did not ask for Family names (last name), but quite a few of you sent me your name in e-mail. I will only add the last name if you give me permission, but no one has asked for this.

I will send out an updated spreadsheet with the extra cabins added. I have been really busy these past two weeks. I had to travel to Delaware for a family death and almost got stuck by hurricane Sandy. It has not been a good week.

BTW with gifts most of us parents live vicariously through our children and would probably be fine with gifts for kids only. Remember, in the first post I said at least one gift per cabin. You can choose if its a cabin gift or a gift for the kids. If you choose kids only make sure that you give separate gifts for each child. Small children tend to get upset when one child gets something the other did not.

I am a Disney Parks veteran, but this will be my first Disney Cruise. Family of 3 cruising on the Dream on December 9th 2012 to celebrate our anniversary on 12/12/12. Looking for great tips, advice and fellow vacationers. If you want to be part of our FE group see the information below. Participation in the FE is not required to be part of our meet. Fellow December 9th, 2012 Disney Dream cruisers, let's get this FE ball rolling! Who wants to join the fun? This is the official FE sign up thread. If you are interested in joining, reply to this thread and I will put you on the list. Also, please subscribe so you won't miss out on any updates. When it gets closer to time, I will send out a complete list with final instructions. Feel free to add any input as this is OUR FE exchange, and we can do it HOWEVER we want! If you have sent me a PM, I have you down!

**I will need the first names of everyone in the room, the ages and genders of the kids, your stateroom number, and you can PM me your personal email address so that I will be able to send you the spreadsheet with all the participants' information. If you are new to the boards and cannot send a PM, let me know and I will PM you my personal email address so that you can email me the information. If you have reserved GTY and do not know your stateroom number, go ahead and send me the rest of the information, and I will update your stateroom number once you have it. Fish Extender (FE) Gifts -December 9th 2012 Will close 8 WEEKS BEFORE OUR CRUISE DATE THAT WILL BE October 14th 2012. This will allow people to have time to order, make, assemble, personalize, etc their gifts. Thanks for your interest!

Guidelines for our fish extender:
1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.
2. All gifts are to be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Sunday, December 9th until 4 PM on Wednsday, December 12th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags on the 12th before we leave the ship the morning of December 13th.
3.Please include a tag with your DISboard’s user name on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from.

Here is a list of IDEAS of what you might want to bring for the FE on the cruise...to add to your packing list if you'd like:
1. The FE gifts that you are making/preparing -- total number will be announced after our sign up deadline.
2. An FE pocket/hanger to hang outside your cabin. You can find them on eBay by searching "Fish Extenders" or you can make one or search on line other places.
3. A zip tie to help attach your FE HANGER. Some people have commented theirs have sadly walked away...but if you attach it with a zip tie...then it is not as likely to walk away.
4. Scissors to cut the zip tie when you're packing...LOL! Don't want to leave it for someone else.
5. On the forum, some people recommend bringing thank you notes so you can write a quick note to the person who gave you a gift.

Here's our story: Right now I should be on the Carnival Miracle. Because of Hurricane Sandy they actually moved our cruise up a day and we couldn't get to NYC in time to cruise (they gave us a full refund).

We looked for something else that would fit our schedule, and this cruise was the only one. After booking it I got on here, found this thread, and showed it my DW who loves the idea. However, it seems we've missed the deadline?

If its possible we'd love to join. We (me 59, DW 56) are cruising with our 3 yr old DGD, who would prob love finding things on our door.

It isn't too late to join. We've been allowing late comers since it was a small group to begin with. PM the guy in the very first post in this thread with your info and he will add you to the list. He is currently in the process of updating the list.

so there are 18 cabins listed for this cruise. Does this mean I have to provide gifts for 18 cabins or are they by deck, etc??? I think 18 gifts is alot to pack, etc can be very costly also especially for 4 nights...

If you don't want to do 18 gifts, pm Chris. I know a couple people aren't able to accept late comers so he can always make a list of everyone who signed up before the deadline. We can have more then one list, the original list before the deadline, and then the list of anyone who is willing to give gifts to latecomers.

I am confused when you said 4 nights is going to be expensive. You don't give gifts each night, just one time during the cruise. You can either give one gift per cabin or one gift per person, but again this is just one time. Gifts don't have to be expensive and can still be nice. Hope this helps.

thank you, new to this FE stuff. I was under the impression it was 1 gift per day to 18 cabins. Now I understand, thanks for clearing that up for me. I feel alot better now, wow it is almost time to cruise, woohoo
