December 2024 Check In Thread

I was waiting for this to become available but I think I am going to pass. I was really hoping for their regular menu with the Fried Chicken and Pasta being options. The fact that you are not even guaranteed a seat, even on the curb and could be made to stand is not an option. For the price they should actually seats/chairs.
We did it last year and we did have to stand. Some people sat on the ground toward the front, but it wasn’t curb. The food was really good though, and I would eat it again if I could also have fried chicken another day.

I agree with you though, if I’m going to pay $52 + tax per person, we should get chairs. But then everyone would do it, and they would raise the price to limit it.

Same meal as last year, which honestly was very good, but we spent a long time standing in line for entry to the viewing area, then stood waiting for the parade and stood watching the parade. I think I would have been better off staking out a curb spot so I could sit.
I think that's what we will do...we were lucky last year finding a great spot..I'm hoping the angels will smile on us again, especially since we have multiple days to choose from...but then, it's December and you always have to anticipate weather conditions (and, no...I didnt say the "R" word🤣)

Especially since we're splurging on character breakfasts...our schedule is pretty full.

Since when is Beef Bourguignon holiday faire. I thought they would have more of a Christmassy meal on offer. I was going to do this but none of us would like that meal so I will pass. I think we will grab some to go sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich and stake out a spot near Its A Small World. I will have an ECV so we might try for the reserved viewing area there.

The only thing Christmasy about the meal is the Yule log cake.

There really is a lot of viewing area for the parades, I like spots by IASW too!

Moving these here since I posted the question in the wrong thread

We less than 30 days from the beginning of the Holiday Season at Disneyland and the parade times have yet to be released on the Disneyland website. Any idea of what the times will be? What were they last year?

The parades tend to be around 3:30 pm (starting at Small World) and 6:30 pm (starting at Main Street), give or take 30 min.

I just looked at the Disney December 2nd calendar and it has no parades, no fireworks, no World of Color, nothing for nighttime entertainment and Disneyland closes at 11pm. I just thought it was kind of strange and disappointing being part of their holiday season. Hoping they would do something during the weekdays, wishful thinking?

Keep checking back. DL doesn't put their entertainment schedule out too far in advance (usually 6 weeks sometimes less).

Definitely less in this case. I have been wondering what the heck is going on this year. I looked for 11/15 the other day and there was nothing listed for parades or entertainment.

My guess is that's the start of the holiday season and they don't have exact plans firm yet.
Its frustrating though isn't it as you have to try and make your park and dining choices based on a possible schedule. Also I am on a planning committee for a rather large local community event and if I left our schedule to this late before it, things would be a disaster. You would think that they have been doing this long enough now to be able to get their act together and release entertainment expectations at the 60 day mark the same as dining availability. The cynic in me says they are waiting to see what ticket/accommodation sales are like so they can put on the very minimum entertainment at the lowest cost to them. We already know Feliz Navidad is only going to be on on the weekend, I'm betting this could happen to other things too.

Yeah, for the Holiday's my only guess on some of the entertainment being harder to know because I think many of the shows are outsourced.
But the Disney parade and what not...yeah I don't get it. They control and run those no idea whats going on

I'm so glad I'm done with reservations!! Hotel, flights, dining, and park reservations taken care of. Whew!

Got a big bonus, too. My dd called and got us her CM discount on our GCH reservation--which saved us over $1000!!!

Now I just have to figure out what we're going to wear to meet Santa this year :)

Makes no sense. Isn't it pretty much the same time every year? Unless they are looking to cut it to once daily Mon - Thurs (which wouldn't surprise me) I don't understand the delay. We are less than 4 weeks from the start of the holidays.

Yes thats what I was getting at. If they wait, they can see what their bookings/ticket sales are like and then they can stage performances and parades on days that look like they will have the crowds to warrant it. I feel like this holiday season is becoming the poor cousin to the planned birthday celebrations next year.
