December 2024 Check In Thread

When did the Trader Sam’s reservations become available?
When I booked last week, I saw them at 4 am. I wasn't up earlier than that so I don't know what time they actually dropped.

Edited to add that TS's was the only one I saw open that early. The others dropped at 6 am (as one would expect). It's super unpleasant to get up at 4 am every morning to try for the coveted locations, especially when you're out of town and trying not to wake the 4 other people in your tiny airbnb.

Thank you. Trader Sam’s has been hard for me even trying multiple times overnight and using dining alerts. I am hoping I can book for our upcoming trip.

How many are in your party? I've always had good luck getting on a wait list when I'm there. You have to be in the general vicinity of TS's to get on the wait list via the app or you can put your name in at the podium in front. It's also pretty easy (usually) to dine on the terrace, which has an outdoor bar and the same menu. Part of it is for TS's guests and the rest is Tangaroa Terrace. The nice thing about outdoors is that they often have an island band playing tropical music, and it's more spread out.

Also, if your party is greater than 4 (or maybe 5), I think you have to make 2 separate reservations for the indoor area, but I'm not sure.

Last year I was successful getting TS’s a day or two before, just from cancellations. So many people book lots of reservations because of how crazy the system is, and then start canceling them as they approach their trip.

Having eaten inside at TS’s, I think we would be perfectly happy eating outside if we go again. It was dark and noisy inside, which isn’t our vibe.

We are arriving 12/26 and will be on property through New Years!

Speaking of that, do they do have the Christmas Fantasy Parade on New Years Eve? I know it's supposed to go through 1/6, but I know the park will be super busy and wasn't sure if the parade ran on 12/31.

The parade will run on it's normal schedule through 1/6.

I wish they would add a few characters in with The Clauses for the afternoon tea at GCH...that would clinch it for me!
Seems like they could have a few stroll over from Storyteller's, but then maybe they'd get mobbed en route :)

Also IASW lighting show at 4:30? Will it even be dark by then? If this time stays true I'll have to change my plans. This is what I mean about them leaving it so late to release entertainment times when we all have to book our dining reservations etc right at the 60 day mark. They should release the schedule at that time too so you can get things organised. I was bargaining on the lighting ceremony being at 5:15 as it was last year. Oh well back to the drawing board.

Sunset in December is around 4:45 pm.

How many days are you going to be there? Do you have plans at 4:30 on all of the nights?

Sorry where did you see the times,
Click on the calendar and select Nov 15.

We arrive Nov 30 through to Dec 9 so we will definitely catch it one night we are there it is just annoying that the times weren't out earlier. Also the times aren't listed yet for my dates thats what I am annoyed about they are only listed for the 15th & 16th November. Can we assume the times will be the same for that whole first week in December or do you think that they will only run the parade on certain nights? It does make planning dinner arrangements very tricky.

Oh thank you so much this is awesome. Now I can finalise my plans. :thanks:

I got tickets for lunch and to see the parade

But weird Question and not sure how much people know about this but here is the situation

I was about to with two accounts get ONE dinning reservation per account and they are an hour apart from one another (1:20 and 2:20 PM)

I know we will just get two tickets for the parade later but my question is. Will they have any issue with me using two different account as long as my name matches my ID? If anyone has ever had this happen before let me know.

Thank you
