The Avis one above is $234- 248.50 (int-full)

Assuming about $83 in surcharge/fees etc for both, so about $320-335

I'll keep a close eye on both though!

Try Avis using MUGA049 $30 off and A074800 (leisure code from flyertalk) have used it several times with avis no issue, Total for istandard inc taxes is $245. Enroll in Preferred Services for free and get free upgrade and go straight to garage at MCO bypassing counter line.

MUWA130 offers $35.00 off.

Prices on the Costco site have dropped. Just got a midsize car for 11 days (Dec 6th-16th) for $254.32 total with all taxes and fees. Hopefully it will continue to drop.

Well the Costco site is still dropping a little. Earlier this morning I got a midsize through Budget for $232.00, while Alamo was staying at $254.32. Now Alamo just dropped again to $230.71 for a midsize for eleven days (again total price with all fees/taxes included).

Hey there, Try the costco contract ID on Alamo. I was also booked on SUNPROMO (Dec 7 - 15) but found the costco contract ID a bit less expensive @ $165 for the 8 days for compact.

Cheapest so far 8 days Dec 7-15 is Budget at $136 using costco code and $40 coupon.

I really miss being able to use coupons on Alamo. Sigh. If I feel really ambitious, I might bring a coupon with me to the airport and go to the counter to see if they can apply it.
Like other posters, I have been renting from Dollar and Budget ever since Alamo put on their annoying new website.

Based on the fact that I have not found a better price on any site to date, I will assume that what I have booked is the best I am going to get. We are going at the beginning of December (2 - 11th) and that appears to be a very expensive time. I have a full size SUV booked for $292 and a full size car for $178. I guess I'm going to have to be happy with one of those.

What Costco # and Visa Coupon Code # are you using? My Costco #s are bringing me up really high prices. Please share. Of course, I know, it does have to do with the dates people are going, but this is crazy. Prices have not gone down the way they used to in the past.

UPDATE: I sent a pm and detailed the problems with coupons at MCO, and also website reservation problems. I told them that many people on a popular message board were frustrated as well, and they were losing business over this. Here's their response:

"Hello Susan, we appreciate your feedback and would like to have the Regional Office over our MCO location address your coupon concerns. Please provide your contact information and a member of management will contact you. I will also let our Website department know about your feedback. You can modify a reservation online if you originally made the reservation on our website and did not prepay. Thank you. "

-- They've had my contact info for 24 hours now, and ... nothing yet. Honestly, I'd be surprised to hear anything but who knows? Stay tuned!

And... UPDATE. Well, there's no update. As expected, Alamo did not follow thru. Which tells me all I need to know about what they think of their customers.

I agree completely. I received a similar response, except it was sent 5 months ago. I never received any attempt to contact me. And, you cannot modify anything on the website if you enter a coupon without clearing all cookies!

Question aout return time on rentals-my flight changed considerably (over 2 hours) and my return time was 3:00pm for my Dollar rental but now my flight got changed to 6:30pm and I am pretty certain I will not be bringing the car back at 3pm. I cannot see anywhere in the fine print about bringing the car back later and any penalty for this. Will this info be in the rental paperwork when we get there?

Will they make me pay tons of money to being the car back 1hr later than I originally booked?

I would call them and just ask hypothetically if they have a "grace period". I want to say its like an hour or two.

Oh & I called Dollar today..... I booked a car through them with KISSE promo code and by calling was also able to add on my AAA discount. Saved me another $12.

I too, am giving up on Alamo. Such a shame. I have rented through them for 12 years and now between the lack of coupons & issue with their website...I am done
