December 2011 Code Watch!

We got a GAME ON card in the mail yesterday for 10% off our stay in Nov 28-Dec 1st. Must apply the discount by the first week in August. Wondering if I should go ahead and apply this discount or hold out for the free dining. I'm wondering if I take advantage of this deal if they will not possibly send me a free dining offer??? Any suggestions?

Congrats to all those who rec'd pins. I'm new here. I check in here every day to learn more. Thanks for all the info! We have a trip planned from Dec 9th to the 17th staying at the BLT. I'd LOVE free dining or a room discount. Keeping fingers crossed.

Joining in!!! :cool1:
Just booked our first family vacation EVER, yesterday for Dec 3-9th for POFQ.
Husband and I went 7 years ago for a quick, last minute honeymoon but stayed off site. This time we want to go all out and really experience Disney.

Of course when we're going no offers are available. :sad2:
Waiting and hoping that we get something in the mail or email.
I've signed up for everything over a year ago and even re-ordered the DVD in hopes that we'd get picked for something.

Would really help the family budget to get Free Dining, or even a 40% off rate.

praying to the disney gods to save us. :worship:

On another note. WE CAN"T WAIT!!! I hear such wonderful things about POFQ so I'm excited this will be our first place we stay. Hope the weather is nice.

Mail2Artist - Congratulations on your first family disney trip! You chose a great resort and a wonderful time to visit DW. We love the boat ride to DTD from POFQ - so convenient and relaxing! We've been to DW many times, but just booked our second Christmas time trip, so we're really excited, too. If you have the time, WL, AKL and GF are so beautiful all dressed up for Christmas and the gingerbread house in the GF lobby is a lot of fun to see. Hope you have a wonderful time!!! :goodvibes

I didn't read the whole thread, but we're still hoping for something as well. Currently we're book at ASMu in a Family Suite. It's DH, myself, DS(2, nearly 3 at travel), my mom and possible 1 nephew going in Dec. We're book from Dec 4-Dec 9. We'll be driving down from Maryland.

I wanted to post a FYI to anyone going the first week of December. It is POP WARNER week. They stay at All Stars and Port Orleans. You may want to read this statement from the website, first time visitor.....

Pop Warner week is the period–usually the first full week of December–when Disney hosts Pop Warner football and cheer and dance championships at its ESPN complex.

In 2011, the championship period stretches from December 3 through December 10.

As a result
Larger numbers than usual of loosely supervised adolescents loudly populate several of the resorts–typically the All-Star resorts, but also a moderate or two.
Evening crowds in the theme parks are a tad higher than they otherwise would be (the kids and their families compete during the day)

HOW MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT POP WARNER

Pop Warner has no material effect on Disney World crowds.

Resorts (particularly the All-Star resorts) that the kids are in can be louder–much louder–and more boisterous than otherwise.

If you have attended a high-school football game, and watched the crowds of kids walking around, you’ll get a sense of the level of noise and horseplay that can ensue.

The horseplay sometimes shifts into fights. Parents of teenage boys playing contact sports will not be surprised by this.

The key for first-time family visitors in a value or moderate resort during Pop Warner week is to request a quiet room far from the pools. Families that have success with this should not see much impact from Pop Warner on their trip.

With having 5 people, we really want a suite and ASMu is our best value for our dollar. Also Family Suites are in the Jazz and Calipso buildings...near the piano pool. I'll request a standard view rather than a pool view if available and cross our fingers. We'll also have our own transportation rather than using the disney buses to get around since crowds will be a bit bigger.

I finally got a pin last night..the first time ever....got free quick service dining for December..upgraded to reg dining....saved me almost $650.00 for 9 nights..doing the happy dance...:cheer2: Hope ya'll will get one too!

YAY!!! I AM SOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU and I am still praying for one myself! I am currently booked December 16-23 with 30% off value/40% off moderate or better so at least I got something. I do have the dining plan on my ressie and if I am lucky enough to get FD, it would save me another $200+.

I am a Disney Visa holder and nothing there yet either. In fact, Disney Visa and the Disney World website both, extended the FD "must book by" date to August 27th, so I am wondering if the December offer won't come out for Visa card holders or the public till then. Then again, they may limit it to just email/snailmail. You never know about Disney.

You are the 1st one to post a FD PIN for December. Has anyone else out there gotten one?

Just wondering if your discount is from a PIN? We just got our airline tickets and are going the same dates as you. :goodvibes

I need this pin or for this to go into a GP offer!! So glad to see that some are getting pins for FD in December!!! :cloud9::love::yay:

This is prob. a silly question, but when you get a pin, who does the email come from? I get soooo many from various dept's of Disney, that I am afraid that I am going to miss something! We are booked for POR on Dec. 15 - 22 w/ at 35% discount, but like everyone else, I would rather have FD! I figure my chances of an actual pin are slim since I'm already booked, but I want to cover all my bases, just in case! Thanks!

I have gotten offers in the mail before, all for Disney World. Yet every pin that comes in my email if for Disney Land. I have edited my profile at the WDW site hoping to change that. Has anyone else had that happen to them.

At this point in my life, touring all the Disney parks in different places in a far far far away time!

The sender will be DISNEY DESTINATIONS (just note that every email from them isn't a PIN, sometimes it's your "Monthly Hello" or something regarding anything you've saved under your user name/email on the website.) However, when I see an email from that name, my heart always skips a beat!! :goodvibes

ETA: We are booked almost the same dates as you (17-22) and with the same 35% off PIN, but for us, the PIN is a better deal than free dining. Good luck!! :)

Ok, color me silly, but how do pins work? We are planning a Christmas 2012 trip and I would love a discount since we want to stay at a monorail hotel. I'd love to know!!

Yay PINs!!! I hope everyone on here gets one! But I am getting a little worried about crowd levels. After reading last Decembers trip reports I wish for 2 wishes: weather in at least the mid 60's and no GP free dining!!! Selfish I know, but again I hope all of you guys get a pincode, so I'm being selfish for all of us! ;)
