December 2011 Code Watch!

I'm going to ask a dumb question.......when you call to see if there is a PIN attached to your name, who do you call? DH and I just found out last night that we will be able to go in December and I know that I haven't had a PIN in the mail recently, but did have a few via e-mail that I deleted since we didn't think that we were going to be able to go back.

We are going Dec 17-23rd also! This is also the exact time frame we went 2 years ago. I won't lie and say that it wasn't crowded, but it wasn't awful and it was so worth it to have the cooler weather (well, it was freakishly cold two years ago but that isn't the norm) and the gorgeous decorations.

Thanks...that is kind of what I was thinking on the crowds. We went in Nov and saw decorations once and I LOVED it!!! The weather was awesome, too!

We noticed that the crowds were not too terrible the first part of our trip, and then gradually picked up as it got closer to Christmas. Again, though, it wasn't unbearable. I will say though that I have been VERY surprised by the low crowd levels predicted by touring plans for that time this year - I expected much higher.

Yeah, touring plans threw my husband, too. He felt like they looked really low.

We have been in december, and the days leading up to Christmas were very pleasant. Low crowds, great weather, etc. However, on the 24th it became unbearable. We spent a lot of time in the pool and downtown disney after Christmas.

I just wish I could get a good pin- I am really hoping for free dining and we are Disney Visa holders

Just call the main number like you were booking over the phone and they should be able to tell you.

Just got a 30% off all values (from $67/night), moderates (from $119/night), and AKL and WL (from $196/night) pin in a postcard in the mail yesterday! Good for 12/1-12/22. I'm THRILLED, we're going December 4-10!! And that week (even though it's Pop Warner) was not blacked out, we got WL. Only courtyard views were left, so we have to pay more than $196/night. Also, it's only valid Sunday-Thursday nights. The math doesn't make sense to me though, maybe someone else can figure this out--
Full price that week for a courtyard view is $330 for the first 5 nights and $340 for the last night (Friday). We're getting 7-day park hoppers and the deluxe dining plan. Tickets + dining plan = $1591. So, since our package total is $3158, I assume that means we're paying $1567 for the hotel. But 30% off of the first 5 nights ($330 with 30% discount is $231/night. $231 x 5 = $1155. This makes it seem like we're paying $412 for the last night. Full price is only $340. Any thoughts? Is my math just wrong?

It's a "game on" postcard, and says "we're thrilled you're thinking of visiting us again in December," so I assume that we got it because (1) we went last year in December and then (2) saved offers for this year. A CM once told me that sometimes whether you have visited in that month in the past can be one of the pin factors, combined with other things.

We've never stayed at Wilderness Lodge and it's our "dream resort," I can't wait!!! And any assistance on the math would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much! I'll cross my fingers for some pixie dust to come your way too. We ate at Whispering Canyon when we were there last December and the WL was even more breathtaking than usual.

I'm always trying to figure out the factors marketing is using to send out the pins and wanted to share everything we did so that others can get on the list too- I remembered another thing aside from saving offers and returning in the same month as we were there last year. A couple of months ago we booked the trip and then cancelled about 2 weeks later because I was afraid we wouldn't get a pin with a booked trip (and I knew we'd need a pin since Pop Warner week is usually blacked out for GP discounts), so that could be a factor in why we got it too.

Thanks for the tips and pixie dust!!! i did go in yesterday and save a few offers so maybe that will help. Unfortunately we've never been in December so hopefully that won't work against us.

So, I have made us one!
So, who is joining my family at Disney World December 2011?
We are planning on going December 9-16, 2011. Staying at Port Orleans Riverside. It will be Dana (me), Jon (my DH), Aaron (my DS who will be 15), Christopher (my DS who will be 13), Noah (my DS who will be 10) & Landon (DS who will be 2). Super excited already!!!! Love the planning so this is great for me! This will be the boy's Christmas for 2011, even if it is a bit earlier. They won't know until the week before, just got to figure out how to tell them, but I've got over a year to figure it out, lol.

Hoping for Free Dining!!! Or at least a 40% discount pin!

That's what I thought...mid-August like it was in 2009. Don't get discouraged, Disney is flexible, they can always move up a promo....you never know...at least the rumours have started

5 weeks!!! Glad I booked an off-site house. I may just stick with that all together. Mid-August isn't too bad but I don't want to be pulling my hair out for 5 more weeks to find out!

YAY! I am now officially booked for CSR! I called in to check on PIN codes and the cast member I got told me I had the 5% off PIN and something else that was better. I don't know exactly what it was, she called it something else, but it ended up giving me a really great offer on the POLY (ONLY $4350 for 7 nights with dining!) Very tempted, but since we need 2 rooms I went with my original choice of CSR. My grand total for 2 rooms, dining plan and tickets for 5 adults, 3 kids is around $5600!!! Playing around with the WDW site, it appears "IF" free dining is announced I may save a little more, but I think it's a great deal!!

I'm going for sure now!!
