December 2011 Code Watch!

Now I'm really confused :confused3

I just called to see if I had a PIN and the lady told me that if there is ever a PIN for my name I'll get an email but I will never receive a pin because they do not have an email on file. Hmmm...I called last month and I did have a pin (not one that was useful to me though).

She ended up taking my email address and told me I should be good to receive pins now (if ever one is available). She also told me that I'll never be able to use a pin through a travel agent. It's only good through the Disney resort. That's weird because my travel agent told me they'd be able to apply a pin to my account.

I wish they were all on the same page.

Was your code an email?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing because I just called since I had a pin for August but the lady said it's way early for Dec pins. Although when I asked about FD she of course said she didn't know but didn't sound too convincing that she didn't know! She did say keep checking for future pins because this one expires soon so I could get another. :confused3 The game on one I have now doesn't expire until the 30th, I think I'm going to call back in a few days and see what someone else says. I heard of people calling about pins for certain dates but having them apply it to different dates so I may try that...something is better than nothing right? ;) Still holding out hope for FD though! :cool1:

OT. I got a pin code about a week ago for 10% off room during december. I called to get it applied since I have given up hope for free dining. Saved $100.00.

I asked if they could see if I had any other pin codes under my name/address/email. All no. She then asked if I was looking for a free dining pin. I was, she laughed and said that she gets many phone calls a day about that.

After I got the 10% off pin applied and made a payment she ended the call with "make sure you check the promotions page on Disneys website regulary in the next few weeks." So then I asked if she knew if free dining was coming out? She laughed and told me that they dont get that kind of information. I want to say that in the way she was saying that was that she knew something was coming.

So, I guess there is still hope for me.:woohoo:

My first time to post here!!! SO much information to take in !!! Here is my question...I have already made my reservations for Nov 28-Dec 1st. Do you think I will still possibly get a PIN for discounts or not since I already made reservations? I'm wondering if they "think" they already have me coming so they wont send me any discounts??? I did go ahead and creat an account for my wife in hopes maybe they will send discounts to her account.

You can't use both. But you can change after you applied if the next one is better.

You are right. There can only be one discount per reservation.

I would cancel the 10% off since free dining would be a better deal for us.

You can only use one pin but you can call & change that offer/pin if something better becomes available. You just can't stack them together.

:welcome: to the DIS!!!

I had decided to go ahead & book our trip as I want a family suite at ASMu. I still got a pin, although it was only 10% like the PP. I tend to put more faith in a GP offer at this point for our trip, lol, which is available to everyone regardless. :flower3:

OK...I called to see if I had a pin and of course I don't. I mentioned to the agent that I'll just wait to make my reservation then. She hinted to the fact that there MIGHT be something big coming up this fall/winter since Disney will be celebrating its 40th anniversary. Told me to keep my eyes out for an announcement. Thought this was interesting and I'd pass it on to the rest of you who are waiting like me!

We are two adults that travel to Disney...no kids.
I called Disney today - no pin. Every day I look in the mail - no pin.
I'm wondering if Disney gives pins to families with kids instead of adults without kids since, of course, they will end up making more money on larger parties?

I called last night and no PIN (have been 4 times on the 1st week of December and never had a PIN). I have a large group going so I went ahead and made a reservation for 4 rooms at AS Movies. By making a reservation did I ruin my chances of getting a PIN?

We will have another family coming if there is a free dining offer. The cost of the AS Movies has gone up quite a bit since we first started staying there. If we don't get free dining, or a good discount, we may stay off property this year. I thought it would be easier to cancel the reservations than find that many rooms closer to our time of travel.

On the reservations line, the cast member would not commit to any possible discounts on the way, but acted as though he did not think there would be free dining (frustrating because either you know or you don't, if you don't know than don't guess).

I think they honestly don't know, and are speculating based on previous years, just as we are. I worked at The Disney Store for a brief time, and one day completely out of the blue Disney corporate people showed up and said we were closing our doors. We had just gotten a new manager and hired several new cast members. It really helped me see how disconnected the company is and the front line cast members are literally the last to know...

We are two adults and both of us have received pin codes in the mail and in emails in the past, so it is not just for families :goodvibes.

Tracy, just saw you and Bill have a new TR! Off to read...love your trip reports! You have a great writing style!

The CM wasn't giving you good info. My TA was able to apply the pin that I got. I'm with you....I wish they would all get on the same page too.
