December 15th Y.E.S. Group; Class meeting location posted on page 13!

Is there a deadline to purchase these tickets for this group? I have two older teens - high school seniors.

Thanks

Hi CookieGVB,

Y.E.S ticket prices will most likely go up starting in September, so I would like to have our group's ticket order in and paid for by early-mid August. I haven't taken ticket orders and payments yet.....but I will be starting the ticket ordering process with everyone in the next few days.

We would love to have your seniors join us for a really fun class! Welcome! :cheer2:

What is the cost to participate in the class if you already have APs?

Thanks!

It is $26 per participant. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking, I'm thinking...

This particular programs sounds so interesting, but I would have to pull the kids out of school and drive down...not a long drive 2.5 hours, but missing school is a big deal. The boys are senior/freshman this year in high school.

But the program sounds really great!

I'm thinking, I'm thinking...

Did I say that already?

We took my son out of school last year for the YES program and his teacher thought it was great. We printed out the program description for her to see that it was a legitimate learning experience. We thought the program we went on was so well done and it was truly hand on education. Such a great opportunity. Just my 2 cents worth if that helps you decide. I strongly recommend it!

Hi there, I am usually a lurker, but this group brought me out. lol. My friend Pm'ed you about my twins joining the class and if we still can, we would love to. It sounds like something they would love, plus another positive reason for the school to approve their abscences.lol

If we can join please let me know. I don't have enough posts to PM yet, but I will work on it. We would need 4, 7 day park hopper tickets if possible. Our dates are Dec. 4-18.:cool1:

Thanks so much!!
Deb

I'm not sure if you have other plans for the first couple of days you will be here, but the tickets will only be valid starting December 8, 2010 (7 days before our class on the 15th). I know the open enrollment tickets are good from 7 days before and after you arrive and depart, but I'm not sure if thats an option for the group classes. Maybe our leader can clarify. :confused3

Yay, Debbie joined the DisBoards! I was wondering if I was going to see you here, or if I was going to have to email you. I'm so glad you finally took the plunge! :cheer2: :welcome: :cheer2:

Of course you can join! I alread have your twins on our class list. :thumbsup2

I will call to clarify, but it says, "Tickets are valid 7 days prior to arrival until 7 days after group's main departure date." So I don't believe it has to do with the class date, but rather our group's main arrival and departure dates. Right now I have our arrival date as December 9th, and departure date as December 18th, so I think the tickets should be okay for Debbie. But I'll definitely call to clarify this before taking the orders. :thumbsup2

I'd appreciate you checking but, if they aren't good until the 8th or 9th, we can rearrange our plans outside of Disney. I am just thankful to get in. My friend did the wild by design in May and her kids had a great time. And for the savings on the tickets, I could re-arrange plans if necessary. Thanks again so much. I am so excited!

Hi Deb,

Good news! I called and talked to our coordinator, Heidi, and she confirmed that the tickets are good 7 days before and after our group's arrival and departure dates, and that we can even put our group's arrival date as the date of whomever is arriving the earliest (Dec. 4th) So you are all set. And I'm excited for you! It's going to be a lot of fun for you and your family!

So our arrival date will be December 4th and departure date December 18th. That should work for everyone. :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry for posting incorrect information... Who knows what I was reading (or not reading)!!! Can't wait to order tickets!

Are there any other dates in December for YES programs? We're going to be there December 5-11 - I can't find any dates listed on the website. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi I have been reading through your thread and I have a quick question. We have done three YES programs (and I am planning our 4th for sometime between 2/20-2/25) I the past we had to order the same ticket for everyone in our party. Meaning if we were doing the 4 day no hopper ticket the entire group had to order the 4 day no hopper ticket. Has this changed? Can you now choose different tickets for each family?

I also wanted to add that we found out that you can be allowed more chaperones if you have children with special needs that need one on one care. OUr last trip we had two children with ADHD and one with Aspergers and our coordiator allowed us more chaperones.

Sent you a PM. Interested in your dates in Feb if you have openings for four kids. :-)

Quick questions - My sis is going during that week and might be interested for my nephew (9).

a) Is there still room?
b) They already have tickets as they are going on a package, so the only thing is the cost for the class?
c) How long is the class?
d) Do you need chaperones? I know either my DSis or DBil would love to do it - both engieers and college profs...

TIA.

There is plenty of room. The cost if you already have tickets s $26 per child. The class is 3 hours long I believe and we have not yet spoken about chaperones yet...

Great - I'll let her know and I'll pass back the info (unless she joins DIS).

I am so sorry to say this, but I was misinformed about the cost of the class for those already with tickets or AP holders.

I was told by someone who had previously organized a Y.E.S. group that the cost of a class for AP holders or those who already had tickets that it was $26 per student/per class. After calling today to speak with our coordinator, I was told this is NOT correct.

Here is the correct information: Every student participating in a Y.E.S class MUST purchase a Disney Y.E.S ticket (basically a minimum of a 3-day, one park per day ticket).

I am SO sorry to have passed on the wrong info to everybody! I feel terrible about it and apologize. I will be changing the info on the front page right away!
