December 15th Y.E.S. Group; Class meeting location posted on page 13!

The 3-day ticket thing is really cramping my thoughts on this. I'm a CM, so have no need for the tickets at all and it makes the YES class VERY expensive. I've emailed the programs office to see if there are any alternatives, but unless I get a reply in the next week or so, I think we may have to bow out. :(

I have never posted on the boards and actually just started researching this program this weekend. We will be going during this week and could be very interested in joining. I would have one studen that is in 7th grade. Have you set a deadline for us to sign-up?

Yay for 10 students!!! Hopefully we can get a couple more signed up.

I agree, YAY! But like you said, it would be nice to have a few more students to join us. :thumbsup2

I know exactly what you are saying, and I wish there was something I could do about it. :sad2:

First, welcome to the DisBoards! :welcome:

We would love to have your 7th grader join us for the class. I have just set a deadline for making ticket payments, which is August 20th. I hope you decide to join our class, and at the very least, stay with the DisBoards and keep posting. Especially if you are planning a trip to WDW (or Disneyland, or Universal, or SeaWorld, etc). You'll learn so much! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome! I have been reading and learning for quite a while and finally took the "posting" plunge. Since I had never heard of this program until 2 days ago, I want to research it a little before I commit. I will let you know. Thanks for deadline info.

20th sounds great! I work excellent with deadlines!

something to keep in mind regarding the tickets. If there are extra adults who will not be able to get the discounted price, then should work it out with those who don't need the tickets minus the $26 class fee.

So for example:

10 kids in the class
only 10 adults can purchase tickets as well

if that leaves any parents out, they should buy the tickets purchased by those who already have tickets or APs minus the cost of the class, $26 seems to be the cost based on what taking an additional class would cost.

Hopefully that makes sense. It's just something I've been thinking about due to having an AP already and trying to swallow the cost of a single YES class for my kids.

On the first post in this thread there are some links that you can click and it will take you to the Y.E.S website where you can read all about the program and the classes. :thumbsup2

LOL - I know what you mean! Me too. Everyone kept asking me when the "deadline" was for joining the class and getting payment in for their tickets, and I was like, "Ummmmm, I don't know....sometime by mid-August I guess." I'm a little wishy-washy setting deadlines. :goodvibes

Then today, rosebud4 PM'd me to tell me she'd have her payment made by August 20th, and I thought "Hey, great idea. I'll make that the payment deadline for everyone!"

So actually......(whispering) it was really rosebud4 who set the deadline for everyone, 'cause I'm the deadline whimp. :rolleyes1

Hey, great idea. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Wow! This sounds like a great opportunity. I have a fourth grader. We will be at Disney Dec. 14-21. Is there still room? If so, would you mind PMing me more info...

What is the price on the 10 day base ticket?

Hi jillianjewels,

I just got off the phone with one of the Y.E.S. coordinators, and they only have 10 day hopper and premium tickets available. (I have no idea why no 10 day base tickets....I forgot to ask.) Anyway, the prices are:

10 day hopper - $189.96
10 day premium - $205.22

I'm going to post this information on the first post of the thread too. :thumbsup2

Woops... We just planned a last minute trip the end of this month. We are going to be there for open enrollment so I am going to check if I can sign up my son for a class. He starts kindergarden in September so I don't know if he can do one of those classes this month... I will have to call and ask!

Of course, we have plenty of room! :woohoo:

I will be happy to PM you more info. :thumbsup2

could you pm me some details? I'll have to number crunch as we are free ddp but there's nothing wrong with math in the am

oh I have a 4th grade girl

Almost all the information is in the first post. Ticket prices are there. I'm not sure if there are tickets less than 3 days available. I priced out a scenario for people with free dining a couple pages back you could look for.

Yes, there is someone else here (I think it is briabbysmom) who also has a free dining package and was also interested in her children doing a Y.E.S class. In order to keep your free dining package, you have to include two-day MYW base tickets for everyone in your party, which you could then use and upgrade on a future trip.

Instead of using the base tickets that are part of your package, you would purchase Y.E.S tickets to use during free dining instead.

But you'll have to look on the first page for Y.E.S ticket prices and crunch the numbers to see if it is something you can do and/or want to do. Basically, you could look at it as saving money on tickets for this trip, while also making a down payment on tickets for your next trip.

On the other hand, because you are paying rack rate for your room with a free dining package, it may save you more to pay for everything a la carte, using a discount code (like the 23/30/40 code if you received one) for your room, buying Y.E.S. themepark tickets, and then paying OOP for food.

Get a crunchin' on those numbers. :goodvibes :teacher: :thumbsup2

Hi Disney-Super-Mom. We have looked at the online information for the YES program and my daughter is excited about the program but a apprehensive about going alone. We will definitely attend your program if we have enough children sign up that it would allow me to attend with her. If she has to go alone, I don't think she will particiapte. Thanks so much for your help.
