December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

I'm back. I started this post and now I finally am back on page 6. I thought we were going to have to cancel and have been trying not to think about it. Looks like we won't have to cancel after all!

What's the scoop on Saturday night? We don't have reservations for that nightyet, but we will definately be coming in the night before. Can someone tell me about residence inn and how much it cost there?

I'm a little overwhelmed by the whole travel aspect of it all. I keep thinking about two kids, two car seats, and a stroller. How am I going to get all that through the airport.

I think we are going to do MVMCP the night the cruise ends and then a day or two at Sea World. I totally forgot about MVMCP and am now really excited. Does anyone know if the tickets are on sale yet?

Welcome back Jehender! Glad things have worked out and you will be joining us! Sorry I can't answer most of your questions as we will be at WDW before the cruise, but I can answer this

Tickets for MVMCP have been on sale since I think around April. Not exactly sure as it seems like I've had our tickets forever! But, bottom line, you can call now and purchase your tickets :thumbsup2

We are staying at the residence inn the night before the cruise. I believe is was roughly around 150 night for a 2 bedroom! If you search the cruise forum there are pictures of the rooms. I also believe that they just refurbished the hotel.

As we are getting closer...I am so ready to start packing!!! The good thing is we are going to the beach for a week with family and that should tie me over for...oh..about 1 week!! :goodvibes I'll just lay on the beach and pretend I'm on castaway cay!! :rotfl:

Well...welcome aboard!!! I believe we are going to try to meet for the dinner the evening before.

I have been thinking about the MVMCP too, but really can't decide about the added expense. We will be in the World anyway - who here has gone and what did you think?

Look at my sig...4 months!!!!!! yeahhhhhhh

We've done MVMCP in the past. We're going to be in WDW after the cruise for 8 nights and are not too sure about MVMCP either.

Having done it, frankly I think it is no big deal. Yes there is "snow" on Main Street which are machines blowing particles of soapy foam. Not all of the attractions are open, just some of them. If I remember correctly there is a special parade. You also get complimentary small cups of hot cocoa and a mass produced packaged cookie.

I'm glad I did it, but as you can see, I haven't made my mind up to do it again. It is sort of expensive when you add up the cost for everyone in one's party for some Swiss Miss type cocoa and an Archway cookie.

But then that's my opinion, and others will most likely differ.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was afraid of, especially when you figure in the costs for 11 people! I think we will do something else that night...like Candlelight Processional.

PS..I see snow ALL the time, so that is a no brainer! I would actually pay NOT to see snow :lmao: :rotfl2:

I haven't been on this thread for a while, wow there's been some activity!

It is getting closer.

It is now just the two of us. Unfortunately, there has been a "falling out" with the friend that was supposed to go with us.

Unfortunately, I've booked and paid for, via Hotwire, 2 rooms at the Wingate Hotel near MCO on the night of the 9th, so I guess I'm out the $47 for the second room.

It could have been worse though, the falling out could have happened after the final payment, which would have been disasterous considering I'm the one whose layed out all the money for the cruise.

I am looking for a hotel the evening of the 9th. :rotfl2: Are you familiar with the Wingate? Will it sleep 4 easily?

I was going to go for the Radisson at the port, but since everybody is staying near the airport, maybe we'll grab a cheap hotel up there and join everybody for dinner.

Someone on DIS told me they stayed at the Wingate and it was fine and they would stay there again.

I'm only paying $47 for the one night. They have a shuttle to MCO and I believe it also includes a breakfast of some sort. Not bad for a night before the big cruise stay.

We're getting into MCO at about 5PM and are just staying the one night then on the 10th will head back to MCO since I believe the DCL buses start departing around 10:30 AM for the port.

I am bumping this thread up!!! We are getting closer and closer and closer....

My in-laws got mail about excursions today, did anyone else receive one?

I haven't received anything.

Final payment is due in just 8 weeks.

My sister and I both received great little packages this week that included information on the cruise itself, the excursions, the in-room gifts, food and flowers to order, spa experiences, etc. It even had a cover letter letting us know the exact date when we could start booking excursions on line. As if we weren't excited enough! :cheer2:

I check on here a few times a week and this is the first time I have found a thread for our cruise!

Let me introduce "us".
Me-33
DH-34
DD-8
DD-6
DS-5
DD-turning 2 during our cruise!
We will be staying at the Poly from Dec 2-10th then driving over to jump on the ship.

I am so excited to find all of you....Now I have to spend the next day or two reading the 7 pages of posts to catch up with what's what!

BTW- has anyone thought of renting a room at Atlantis on the Nassau day? I just did it yesterday and I'm still not quite convinced the weather is going to cooperate enough to make it worth it!
Look forward to "chatting"
Andrea

We took our 3 kids-6,4 &3 along with my pregnant self & DH 2 years ago and we enjoyed it, but it wasn't something I would do again. It was crowded, rainy and DH had pneumonia so that may have clouded my judgement?!

Pros-
The Christmas spirit is in full force-made us all warm & fuzzy inside
The picture is a true keepsake
The parade was nice
The fireworks & snow brought tears to all of our eyes (DH still compares EVERY fireworks display we watch to that one!)
The Christmas shows are really nice

Cons-
THE CROWD
The lines
The overhyped cookies & hot chocolate
Not all of the rides are open
Show seating fills up quick
It's a really late night if you want to fit it all in
Kids were burned out early even though we took naps that afternoon
I don't think it was worth all of that money and would have rather spent it on Bibbidi Boutique (if it was there then) or Pirate Cruise

Hope this helps! Andrea

No KTPOOL I'm not calling you a posting Hog...I am posting one after another...Have I said how excited I am to have found "my" cruise?

Anyway, KTPOOL I noticed your kids are about the same age as my oldest 2. My DD is not very outgoing and is very worried about not knowing anyone on this trip. (especially because DD6 is the "designated speaker" and greeter for them and she will be in a different age group). I can't wait to show her the pic of your kids! Maybe they could be PM pals or pen pals for the next few months!

I have received our little "welcome" package with excursion info in a cute little portfolio. I paid our cruise off last week and figured that was why they sent me the info?!

I'm gonna try to let someone else post now...

We are looking to rent a day room as well. The weather should be fine, unless of course it rains. In 4 trips to the Bahamas we have only had brief showers, little enough not to ruin anything.

Yeah-My DS will be 5 on the cruise and 2nd DD will be 6, they will probably be in the same group!
Last week I went to Disneyshopping and bought a ton of stuff-including the Matching Mickey Hawaiian print dresses/shirts for the whole family. (I'll have to get DH drunk to get him to wear matching clothes but it was only $6.99 so I won't sweat it if he doesn't cooperate). I spent about $100 and got 3 HUGE boxes of stuff-Pj's, bathing suits, EVERYTHING! Normally $100 gets me a small box with a few things! WHOO-HOO!
