Dec 2007 A mouse Odyssey/lotsa pics

:lmao: Wow, sounds like you have your hands full! Back when I was a kid my parents had to do the whole activity juggling thing and there were three of us.

I had my seasonal sports at school (basketball, volleyball, soccer, track) and then my gymnastics which were all year and swimming as well plus piano lessons!

My brothers had their soccer teams and also swimming and piano.

Somehow they managed it all. It would drive me insane though if I had to deal with it!

Yea, we're pretty busy, I like it and hate it at the same time, it makes the time fly, but some days I just want to stay home and veg out, I get tired of driving the same old roads every day, I find myself looking for different routes to take even if it's takes longer because I am so bored with the same routine.

I wouldn't be able to manage it with 3 kids in sports, I don't know how I would manage it if Jim played sports and had to be driven every where, the only driving I do for him is to take him to his GF's house or drop him off in town to hang out with friends.

But every event gets me closer to Disney.

njdisneyfreak We will definitley compare notes when I get back. I am down to 96 days and the time will fly, hopefully. Seems like August is taking forever to get through, but I know once the football games start it will go faster.
I am back to my counting the little things that lead up to the big one, like...
9 more days until Cougars first ball game. 26 days until Reese trys out for cheerleader of the year You can only do that your last year of Cougars, she graduates out this year, so all the graduating girls compete for Cheerleader of the year, it's a 1min 15 secs cheer routine performed infront of everyone and then their fellow cheermates vote, then there's a 1 1/2 page essay on what you have learned from being a Cougar cheerleader, the coaches and parent advisors vote on that and then it's anounced at homecoming which is a little over a month away. I have scrapbook parties to look forward to, and all kinds of parades. Kent is entering his truck this year in the Red Lion halloween parade, mostly to get his business name out there, Jim will be playing his guitar on the back and throwing out candy with business cards. I am super excited for that, then of course Thanksgiving, the kids will be in Mi, for that, but it never stops Kent from going all out on the feast, I will probably have Coach T, her son and COley over for dinner and games. Wow I sure did rattle on there.

I am sick of the warm weather, I usually like it to be around a bit, but I am ready for cold, cause once the cold sets in I am that much closer to Disney and I can pack my warm weather clothes for the trip since I won't be needing to wear them at the time.

I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one that is using any and all events as countdowns to Disney. :rotfl2: You definitely have a lot on your plate to keep you going. Time will definitely fly! I know that once I get back to teaching, my days will fly faster than I can count. My job typically keeps me super busy.

I'm tired of the warm weather too. I'm not a winter lover, but if it means bringing Disney closer, bring it on!!!

Talking about the countdowns...check out the cute one on my PT report that my son & I made. I have to admit - its too cute ;)

That countdown is very festive and fun looking and a great idea I must say. Now I think I know what to do with all the other colors of Mickey head paint chips that Reese insisted on nabbing...

It is after midnight, so technically I can say 94 days till our trip. I am so excited I can taste it, (and it tastes like chicken) not really. don't know why I said that, if Disney did have a taste I think it would be cotton candy, cause that's what it smells like, and know what's so cool? I have a cotton candy lotion, so I must smell like Disney in a roundabout sort of way. right?

I worked the cheerleading spirit booth at tonights varsity game,:cheer2: that is how I know we are into the school year, cause I am at Varsity games. Reese was meeting up with some friends and told me on the way that I was not allowed to talk Disney to any of them, so I talked Disney to all of them and found out her friend is going in October, I asked her where she was staying, she didn't know, I asked her if they were going on the DDP, she said "What's that?" I asked her if she was going to MNSSHP? she wasn't sure, so I said have your mom come see me cause she is doing it wrong.

Then I finally got to meet JINGLES, one of Jim's friends, he had a 6 inch mohawk, and it was lime green, so I was all about that and even invited him to be in my limey club. I also figured out (on my own) that they call him Jingles because he has so many chains on his clothes he jingles when he walks, I always thought when I heard the name jingles that it had to do with music. Go figure:confused3 I also met Budah who I thought would have a round belly, but he's a super skinny kid, and another friend named pigmy who is pretty tall but was given the name before he grew. It's funny how I see them as little dimented Disney characters, they got a kick out of that.

My travel mate Theresa, or Coach as most call her, is now talking daily disney do's with me. Will we do this, will we do that? We have made plans to get together a few days before we leave and just talk itinerary and what not. We had planned to go to the Olive garden, then for the sake of money switched to McDonalds, then to save even more decided on a homemade dinner. I will give coley her B-day present then instead of hauling it Disney. Wish I could tell you what it is but I never know if she is going to read this, she keeps saying she will, so far she has not.:sad2:

Now here is an interesting tidbit that you might find funny, I know ILMICKEY will get a kick out of it, I was sent an e-mail today on how to figure out what your stripper name would be, the e-mail said everyone needed a stripper name so I went with it, mine is Chesty Glittertush. There was one I did a few months back it was different and my name was Mandy Trinity, which do you like better? This may sound wrong, but I looked up Reeses name and it was Sugar Glitterthong, my mom is Bunny Leatheridge, my sister is Bambi Dazzletush. I could not stop laughing and looking everyones name up, so then it hit me, and please don't falme me for this but Minnies Mouses name would be Heidi Glittersilver, which in my mind does not sound like a stripper name at all, Daisy Duck is Chesty Silvertower, it too does not sound like a good stripper name, that must be a good thing, I think Walt disney planned it that way, his characters would never be strippers. (please do not take offense to this, it was all in good fun)

This coming Wednesday will be the 3 month mark, 3 months is nothing, I can do that standing on one leg and both eyes tied behinde my back. HAHAHA
I am starting to envision myself walking into the park that first day.
I planned Animal Kingdom for our first park, it is my least favorite and I want to get it over with, but then again I could develop a whole new outlook on it and totally fall in love with that park in which case I have an open day at the end of the week and we could go back to it, We are doing every park twice except for AK, I guess I need to let the other 3 on the trip have a vote on that too.

Well it's late and I have got to get some beauty sleep:lmao: so I will go now and have happy Disney Dreams. Talk at you all later.

Now that I'm 108 days away from our trip, I was wondering where that chicken taste came from! :lmao: I'm jealous; you're closer to your trip than mine, but how fun will it be to talk about for months afterwards. I don't know if I'm looking more forward to your description of the trip or your pics which are always great, too!

I'm glad your school season has started, so you can feel like you're that much closer. I start back on Tuesday with work, and I have never wanted school to start as bad as I do right now! :rotfl:

I love the nicknames of your son's friends! Too funny.

That whole stripper thing is hysterical. It figures that Walt's girls wouldn't qualify. I'm glad.

I'm hoping to like AK better on this upcoming trip. In the past, it's always been our least favorite, because we've gone in July each time when it's so insanely hot and suffocating in that park. By staying at AKL and going in a much cooler month, I too am hoping to gain a whole new appreciation for the park. At least I'll be able to go on the safari and not have to die of heat before I've even reached the vehicle! :thumbsup2

:surfweb: I hope you had great Disney dreams, so you can come back and share more about your planning. I just love how you explain things! :surfweb:

Yep, you see there are other uses for those mickey heads. We got to officially start the countdown yesterday. So as of today we have 89 days left. We are putting black mickey heads over the red/green ones as we countdown.

Who else would even think of looking up Minnie & Daisy's stripper names but you?? :rotfl:

For me, Disney smells like Christmas scents. Like cinnamon, hot chocolate & lets not forget turkey legs. Not that turkey legs smell like Christmas.

Hope you had sweet dreams.:cloud9:

The stripper names are hilarious!

So funny that you looked up Minnie's!

I love it that you talked Disney to Reese's friends when she told you not to. She'll learn!

Congrats on the 89 days!!! :woohoo:

OOOOH! I love the idea of Disney at Christmas smelling like that. Cinnamon and chocolate are two of my favorites and who doesn't like turkey? I have yet to try those turkey legs, though.

Sugar glitterthong? Are you kidding me?

Mommy forgot to mention that she played her Disneywatch music for all to hear and at one point sang with it.

I am excited about our trip too, but Mommy, you have got to keep it together, you are our trip captain, there can be no coming unglued.

LOL OMG Ty! Reese just outed more of your Disney antics :rotfl2:

Don't feel bad, I keep saying "Wishes!" whenever I see fireworks, and everyone around me starts groaning. :lmao:

That is not that bad, I walk around the house singing along to Wishes all the time. Erich grabs the water bottle we use to spray the kitten when he is being naughty and sprays me with it instead. Silly brother thinks he can train me not to sing Wishes as though I were a cat afraid of water!

Hi Ty!

I haven't read your entire pre-trip yet, but I wanted to stop in and say hello!

I am sure this girls only trip is going to be fantastic!

PS- You are my scrapbooking hero~ :goodvibes

njdisneyfreak I am hoping that the cooler weather will allow me to appreciate Ak more. Is it just me or does it seem that AK holds in the heat, there wasn't even a breeze. I did go and research this park a bit more and I have a list of things that I would love to do this time.

roxannensteve I am using my christmas countdown right now, it's snowman and I change the gloves each day that have the number of days left, but I plan to copy your idea when I get to about 60 days out, that will be another thing to keep me oocupied until departure day. I am running out of things to do to keep busy. (like looking up stripper names)

SwansLoveDisney Does Reese really think I am going to stay quiet just because she asks me too? CHA! this is Disney here man, I gotta spread the love!!!! (welcome back, how was Hawaii?)

Lifelong Dreamer You get sprayed for singing? That is harsh, I hope it makes you sing even louder!

Reese I had to sing, your friends didn't know that the music was from the Mickey Mouse club, DUH! Don't worry about me blowing a disney circuit, I got it under control.

LurrrvtheDuck She outed me alright, I guess it's paybacks for talking Disney to her friends, but, I am the Momma and my paybacks are even bigger.
I call fireworks wishes to but I am just looked at like I am an idiot, people just don't get it do they?

DinDin233 Welcome!!! and hello right back at ya. Yes, this trip is already fun and it's still 3 months away. Thanks for the scrapbook compliment, I have never been called a scrapbook hero before, I like it.

As promised, here is Durka Durka

We call him Durk for short. He will accompany us to Disney as our trip mascott, it's only fitting as he is green and an alien. Reese hopes to make him the center of our trip, which of course can't happen, because there is room for only one star on this trip and that is me, he can be my understudy:lmao:

Some of my new purchases are
tinkshirt.jpg

and
eayshirt.jpg
[/IMG]
I got these shirts at the disney store, on sale 2 for $18.00

watch.jpg
[/IMG]
This is one of my disney watches, it's a bit fuzzy, this is not the one that plays music, I was not able to get a clear picture of it, I will try again another time, but yes, I have 2 disney watches, I would love the Tinker bell one but I am trying to save money for the trip, you all know how that goes.

I have been picking up little prizes here and there to put together a gift bag for my fellow travelors, in it will be the itinerary books I made everyone, the luggage tags I am working on, nothing too fancy, just some things I down loaded from themouseforless and then I spiffed them up a bit, adding my own touches to them. I can't say everything that is in them for fear of them finding out early and it ruining the whole surprise (they keep saying they are going to join in and read along) but I think it would be ok to post a sneek peak.

Dontcha just love it? I love Pez, and disney Pez is just the cats meow.

I also thought you might like to see the picture I have displayed on my computer screen at all times, Kent keeps telling me to change it, but I refuse.

I loves it, loves it, loves it. I want a happy picture of him at disney and I will get it even if it has to be paintbrushed in. HA THERE YOU BIG OL' OGRE! Ban me from talking disney in my own house, I will show you!!!!!!!

I did actually read in some book that the AK is made to retain more heat to make it more realistic to the areas of the world it represents and for a lot of the animals who are more used to a hot climate. I'm looking forward to experiencing it in the winter, so it will be more bearable. What sort of things would you like to do there this time? I'm curious. :goodvibes

Durk rocks! How are you going to fit him? Is he staying in your room while you were out? I can't imagine how you would manage to include him when you go out and do things. Oh, the mousekeeping are going to get such a kick out of him! I can just imagine how scared they might get if you get creative on where you place him when you're out, like they open up the shower curtain and he's standing inside with a hello sign or something like that! :lmao: You should have us all give you input on various ways you can be creative with Durk on your trip, and then you can report back to us when you return on how many of our ideas you were able to use. It would be hysterical! :rotfl2:

I love those shirts. I saw them on the Disney shopping site, but I'm trying to save up to buy shirts on the trip. The watch looks cool, too.

Oh, I can just imagine how your DH must hate that pic! Ah, well. That'll teach him to appreciate WDW more. ;)

Njdisneyfreak This trip to AK is going to include some shows, I really want to see Nemo the musical it is a priority! I also never saw it's tough to be a bug, and Reese and I skipped out on the safari, so all of that plus the parade and maybe taking in a cs meal instead of just a snack. I even want to go to Camp Minnie Mickey. So it's a nice list of things to do which will be helpful, last time we just winged it and missed too much.

It makes sense about wanting to recreate the same conditions for effect and the animals. that is an interesting thing to know.

Durka can be deflated, I think Reese tends to carry him around in her bag and just blow him up aT pivitol points, maybe a character meetngreet.
I love the idea of creative placement for Durka.

HEAR ME NOW, I AM NOW TAKING IDEAS FOR WHERE TO LEAVE DURK FOR SURPRISING MOUSEKEEPING.

I know that in the evenings we planned to put him in our window to share with everyone.

I don't think DH will ever appreciate disney.
