Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

We will be going to Disney after the cruise. We are doing MVMCP on 12/9 and have all of our ADR made. I'm very excited. Anyone else here doing the 12/9 MVMCP?

The 9th is our last night!!:sad1: MVMCP is so much fun!

The 9th is our last night too! That is why we picked that day. We fly out late afternoon, Monday. We have a tradition that we must be at MK on our last night. We will try to sneak to DTD on Monday morning before we leave.

We can do a check in at DTD for our flights so at least we can get rid of the suitcases. Not sure what we will do that last morning - may see you around
DTD.

Wow, I feel like I've been gone for a week!!! So much happening on this thread!

Welcome, Diane! Here's hoping you become a cruiseaholic, though the pocket book might not like it!!! We absolutely love cruising and don't even have to get off the ship to love it even more! This is our 3rd Disney cruise and we just booked #4 a couple of weeks ago (I was getting antsy...). You can do as much as you want OR as little! If you're unsure of cruising, these short cruises are a great way to get started. I only wish we had 3 or 4 weeks of vacation yearly so we could do some longer ones and still enjoy the other types of vacations we have planned!!!

Kimmy, sorry you won't be at WL with us, but I'm sure you'll have a great time at POFQ.

We made our ADRs over the weekend though we missed out on the Chef's Table at Victoria and Alberts. Life is still good, however!!! We actually have one more ADR to make at Bistro de Paris though we can't do that until 30 days out. It's going to be wining and dining at WDW this year!

Vicki, glad to see you back. Hoping all computer problems are cleared up!

It was a paltry 104 degrees out today. I guess summer is almost here....

Be well, everyone!
Michael

Morning Michael. I was wondering about Bistro de Paris myself, but think with the overall cost of the holiday I will leave it for another time when a cruise isn't involved!!! I love to dining reviews though!!!!!!!:)

Hi guys. I thought I would push this thread to the top and let you all know that I FINALLY got my passport paperwork done! I was the one that said I didn't need one, and then by reading this board I was QUICKLY informed that was a BAD decision. I know that this will not be my last Disney Cruise, so why not get this taken care now? I also live close to the canadian border and often have the urge to go to the casinos up there, and this will only benefit me crossing the border.
Now I sit and wait for it to come.....very patiently :)

People do beat up folks with discussions about passports, don't they! I've had one for umpteen years and wouldn't travel anywhere without it, AND it did look like if you were coming in by sea/ship you'd need one, but they've relaxed it a bit now as long as you can prove that you've applied for one.

You'll be fine, Kimmy. Where's Willoughby located? From the Upper Peninsula of Michigan here. I promise there will be no Ohio State / Michigan State glares!!!!

Thanks for the kind words... Willoughby is an eastern sub of Cleveland. I'm Ok with Mich state, it's the U of Michigan that will start a riot....lol I do love:love: my bucks but I also respect everyone else :thumbsup2

Welcome Diane! I look forward to getting to know you and your family. We love the cruises and can hardly wait for this one. I am sure that you will love cruising! :) Hopefully motion sickness won't be a problem for you. I know I was worried about it too, but luckily it never bothered me much. I know others who have been bothered, but I know there's medicine out there that can help. Hopefully you won't have to worry about that though.

Michael, I am glad to be back on line too. Our computer has been giving us trouble for the last month or so. I believe that we picked up a virus. Hopefully we will be up and running now. WOW, 104 degress - It is very hot there today for you and MArc. It is 90 and humid here today too. We are going through a hot spell with no rain. We are hoping for rain this weekend.

Kimmy, I am not sure where you room is in relation to ours. Do you know if you are in the front or back of the ship. WE are on the back of the ship.

I also will update my first post soon to include some of the new cruisers who have joined our board.

Have a great day everyone. I am due to have our 4th child within a couple of weeks so we are getting excited! We don't know if we are having a boy or a girl, so it will be a great surprise!:goodvibes

Vicki

(Please don't beat me up! Our cruise was booked only one day prior to my original post on this thread.)

Passports? Um.......:guilty: We don't have them. :sad2: We have just never had a need before now. Disney World is just about as far as we have ever gone.

I could not even find certified copies of our birth certificates so I ordered new copies yesterday. (I know I had them before we moved a couple years ago, and I'll probably find them in a day or two. When I do, I will be wishing I hadn't spent that $80!) I was told it would take 10-14 days to receive the birth certs by US mail.

DH is off work July 2nd, and we could all trek to our local acceptance facility (post office) that day to apply for passports, but my travel agent feels there is a possibility of not getting them back in time. If the passports do not arrive, that means we will not have our certified birth certs as well. Then what?

Any suggestions? Do you all think there is enough time to get passports before we leave Texas on Nov. 24th if we apply on July 2nd? :confused3

Sorry I can not help with the passport info as we are in the UK. I hope everything gets sorted for you.

Well it is lovely to have you back with us. So, just a few short weeks to go before your 4th child is here. How exciting. I look forward to meeting he or she and the rest of your family.:)

Vicki

Congratulations, Vicki! :goodvibes Wow! Child number four! :woohoo: I can only imagine how excited your entire family must be. How did you ever manage to not find out if it's a boy or a girl? That will make for an exciting delivery for sure. It is so unusual to hear of couples who actually make it to the end without finding out the sex of the child somewhere along the way. Most couples cave in, but you're a rock!:cool2:

Everyone has been posting their cabin category, and I forgot to. We're in a category 7. With such a last-minute decision to cruise, we didn't want to over-extend our trip budget. (I HATE to charge vacations if I can help it.) However, I just HAD to have at least a hole through which I could feel and smell an ocean breeze from my cabin. We're on deck 6, but I SO envy Michael and his cat 3! That's awesome for you guys!

. . . We absolutely love cruising and don't even have to get off the ship to love it even more! This is our 3rd Disney cruise and we just booked #4 a couple of weeks ago (I was getting antsy...). You can do as much as you want OR as little! . . .

Michael, not getting off the ship is exactly what I have in mind.:thumbsup2 We MAY go snorkling and enjoy the beach a bit at Castaway Cay, but I do not think we will get off the ship in Nassau. I am planning no excursions as of now. Not only will this save us a few $$, but it will give Devin a much-needed few days to simply relax. I understand the lighter crowds on the ship, while docked, are something to appreciate.

Since this is our first cruise experience, I do have a lot of questions. Is there perhaps a website with terrific information for a first-time cruiser? I need elementary descriptions of how to do EVERYTHING. ;)

I've read a lot of trip reports, particularly of the 4 night cruise we are doing. It has helped loads.
These are 3 threads on here I bookmarked aome time ago so i could reread at my leisure. You might find them interesting.

We will probably only get off at Nassau just to have a walk around and get some exercise. Like you we want to save some $$.:)

I rather have a feeling my husband John will be sleeping much of the time onboard!!

Thank you for the links!! These look like terrific reads.

I may be just like John and sleep quite a bit as well! Honestly though, I hope not. I want this to be a very memorable vacation.:cloud9:

You, like us, have a week before the cruise too to enjoy!! It all makes for a great vacation! I can't wait.

Have you made plans for the first week?

Some plans are set, but not all, and nothing truly *spectacular.* We are relatively simple folks when it comes to dining (or ANYTHING, for that matter).:hippie:

I have made ADRs for our favorite restaurants, such as Le Cellier, Kona Cafe, 50's Prime Time, and Whispering Canyon. I would like to try Italy (if reopened by then) or perhaps Coral Reef before Wednesday's Candelight Processional. I am also considering the Brown Derby on the evening of the 29th, which is when we plan to see the Osborne Spectacle of Lights at the Studios.

I have not decided where to have dinner on the 27th (our night for MVMCP). DD may want to revisit the Crystal Palace, or perhaps we will dine in the castle that evening.princess: What are your plans before MVMCP?

We met up with a couple from the Dis(from Georgia) in February '06 and they are coming diwn for that week too! As there are other family members with them we aren't spending much park time with them, but we are eating together for 3 meals. One is MVMCP night and we are eating at LTT. Not eaten there before but looking forward to it. I have booked a few more meals in case we change to a package with dining plan when and if one comes out. Kona Cafe is one of my favourites too. I've chosen Citricos as our more expensive meal. We have been to Cali Grill the last twice and I would love to go there again but thought we should try elsewhere!:)

Hey Vicki, We are in the middle back of the boat! Hopefully we will "run" into each other.

Congrats on the soon to be new baby!
