Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

Good Saturday morning, all!

After a VERY long week at work I'm liking the fact that it's going to be a slow weekend... or at least it WAS going to be a slow weekend. Puppies will be 5 weeks old on Sunday and they're starting to squeak a bit more. First baths will be today and tomorrow the three adults (dogs, not us) will get their baths. Cleaning the house so folks can come to see the pups is going to be a MAJOR undertaking. But through all of this is a bright, shining light... we're one day closer to sailing on the Wonder!

Nassau - on our first cruise Marc actually ended up hurting his back on the flight from L.A. I blame myself as I let him carry the champagne that we were bringing to share with some friends we had met on the DIS. So, with his back thrown out of whack he was basically on pain meds the whole vacation. We didn't get off the ship until Castaway Cay the next day. On the 2nd cruise (DVC member cruise) there was no stop in Nassau, only two days at CC. This time I do want to get off as there's a pirate museum near the pier that should be fun to peruse. While I do enjoy casinos, heading over to Atlantis would be a very fast way for me to empty the pocketbook, so we'll just head back to the ship, have lunch there, nap, and enjoy the open decks (and have a cocktail or two!).

Castaway Cay - If we haven't connected in person by then and you make your way over to the adult beach and see two guys laid out snoring on the chairs, that will probably be us! Wake us up and say hello! And if it's not us, well, those two guys needed to wake up anyway! :rotfl:

Have a GREAT Saturday everyone!
Michael

I will hold you up to that!! I know you will catch us two, also on the adult beach, probably with a couple drinks in hand.

Now that sounds very interesting! I didn't know about this (of course, I don't know about anything;) ). DH would LOVE this.

:lmao: And if you see two Texans (no I don't have BIG hair) being chased by two very angry, yet sleepy, gentlemen who do NOT answer to the names of Michael or Marc, PLEASE alert the authorities! ;)

Can you post a piccie of the growing pups? Will you be sad or relieved when they go?

I was wondering about the Pirate Museum too. As long as I am not off the boat for too long though!:rotfl:

I don't think I would dare wake any snoring guy up!!! Anyway Joun will be snoring at the other end of the beach!

Good morning all. How were your weekends? Do anymore December planning?

Good morning all. How were your weekends? Do anymore December planning?
:coffee: Good morning! :goodvibes

I did some planning over the weekend. We held a *family meeting* and decided that instead of leaving WDW on Nov 30th in order to stay in a hotel near the port, we would prefer to stay on Disney property right up until cruise day. As of this writing, there are no rooms in our category available at WL, so I could not simply extend our stay there by 2 nights. :( Instead, we will move to CBR for 2 nights where I will catch up on laundry, etc.:laundy: I was able to get a great rate with our AAA discount on a room only, so it actually worked out better financially for us to remain on Disney property rather than move near the port. :thumbsup2

Also, during the aforementioned *family meeting* Devin informed me that we will NOT be eating at the Brown Derby. So, that ADR is now set too, but for Hollywood and Vine. I am okay with this. Very simple food for very simple people. :)

What a great Well rounded trip!! I'm so jealous.

What a great Well rounded trip!! I'm so jealous.

This is like a dream-come-true trip for me. :cloud9: Most of our WDW trips are 5 nights only (DVC stays on rented points). Two times we were able to stay 6 nights. This year, I begged Devin to take off two weeks in a row so we could have a leisurely drive from TX to FL and back again. Little did I know that he would be willing to throw a Disney cruise into the mix! I feel VERY lucky this year. :shamrock:

I just wanted to stop in here and say Hi. We are thinking of joining all of you on this cruise. It would be me, my dh and two dd's age 8 and 10. We just decided to go to Disney from Nov. 28 to Dec. 5. We are DVC members and there are no studio rooms available from Dec. 2 to the 5th. I am trying to talk my dh into the cruise and staying one more day. I hope we can make a decision tonight.

We have been on two members cruises in the past and had a great time. We have actually met Michael and Marc on our last cruise. I can't believe that you two are changing your pirates costumes. The other costumes were amazing and I hope to be able to see the new ones.

We are from Michigan and all I have to say is GO BLUE:cool1:

Hi BCV Princesses,

Welcome to the boards. It is nice to meet you! I hope you area able to convince your husband to go on the cruise in Dec :)

Where in Michigan are you from? We are from Wisconsin, so it's not too far from you. We have a daughter and niece who will be 9 and 8 years old on the cruise in Dec.. I see your daughters are 8 and 10 - maybe they could e-mail each other before the cruise and get to know one another.

Hard to believe the cruise is only a little over 5 months away. It is getting closer.:)

Ann Marie!!!! HI THERE!!!! It would be great if you guys were able to jump on this cruise!! Hoping Tom is doing well, also!

Marc is not one to wear the same complete outfit twice! HORRORS!!!! (And it was HOT in that thing, too!!!)

Here's hoping we'll see you onboard.:yay: :yay: :sail:

Well, it looks like we are going on the cruise with all of you. :cool1: :cool1:

I just booked our room at SS for Nov. 28 to Dec.2 and then on to the cruise. We are so excited. I have e-mailed Dreams Unlimited to book our room and hopefully that will be done by tomorrow.

We are in Marysville. My name is Ann Marie and my dh is Tom. I am an ER nurse and Tom is a firefighter and paramedic. My girls are Brooke, 10 and Jessica, 8. We started homeschooling this year and it is really working out great for us. I still can't believe that the girls finished a whole year and we all lived. It really has worked out well with going on vacations and they are both really into gymnastics and are on a competitive team. They both train 16 hours a week and would love to do more.

Vicki my girls would love to get to know yours before the cruise. On the members cruise they e-mailed another girl and became great friends.

Michael and Marc what are the chances that we would meet on another cruise? I really love your dogs. How are the puppies? Gotta go. Time to make dinner.

Yeah! Welcome. Do you know what type of cabin you are going to book? Let us know, looking forward to meeting everyone. BTW it's just me and my roommate/Best friend who is also a RN she works in the OR.

You know, I've met more people from Michigan on vacations than the actual friends I had growing up there!!!! I think it's great that you're taking this cruise! (Now, start thinking about Sept 1, 2008 - 5 days on the Magic....) It will be great to see you and Tom again.

Pups are doing well and later I'm going to post a pic of them that I took yesterday when I ran home for lunch. I got home from work this afternoon and found three of them running around the living room with mom going beserk trying to round them up!!! Somehow these three had scaled the side of their whelping box (that wouldn't have been hard but the drop on the other side must have knocked them about a bit! Hey, what's a 15-inch fall when your a pup, right?? Oy vey!) and they made it into the living room. I won't have to dust under the couch this week as they did manage to get most of the dust bunnies out by themselves!!!! The other two adults who are relegated to the kitchen were NOT happy that they weren't having any of the fun!!

I'm glad to hear that homeschooling is going well and that the girls' gymnastics team keeps them busy!
Best to you and Tom and we'll keep on chatting!!

Hello to the rest of the posters as well!!!!

Michael

Hi Ann Marie,

That is great that you will be joining us on the cruise. I am glad that homeschooling your girls is working out for you. My daughter Adriane is 9 and my niece Tiffany is 8. We also will have 3 other children with us. Our ds will be 5, dd age 3 and a 5 month old baby (due in a week or two :goodvibes)

I will have Adriane e-mail your daughters sometime soon. That would be great if Adriane and Tiffany could get to know them before the cruise.

Where in Michigan is Marysville? We live in southwest Wisconsin.

On the ship we are staying on the 2nd deck in rooms 2102 and 2104. We are booked through Dreams Unlimited too.

We look forward to getting to know you better.

Have a great night everyone! We will talk to you soon!

Vicki

Hi guys. Just wanted to let you all know that the web cam is pointed right on the Wonder today.... I have been stalking it since it pulled in to port! How is everyone today?

It's official......We are joining you. :cool1: :cool1: We are booked in room 7598 with a late dinner. We actually Booked with Mouse Fan Travel that was the same price as Dreams Unlimited but they would give us a $100 shipboard credit. They are a Mousefest travel agent and are going to have agents on board with a special party.

Vicki, the girls are excited to e-mail yours. I think we are going to make them their own e-mail address and when we do I will PM you.

Marysville is about 60 miles north of Detroit on the St Clair River that connects Lake Huron to Lake St. Clair. The river divides Michigan and Canada.

Is anyone else on late dinner? The last two cruises we were on early and I hope we make it to dinner. Maybe I'll just have to take a nap. All that sea air does me in. :rotfl:

Ann Marie,

Yah!!!! We are so excited for you and your family now that it is official that you will be going on the cruise. Now the fun begins with all the planning.:)

Adriane and Tiffany will be waiting for an e-mail from Brooke and Jessica. They are excited to get to know them.

We are also doing late dining and actually like it better than early dining. We don't feel so rushed to eat after Castaway Cay or Nassau and also on the last day, we have breakfast at 8:00 or so versus having to have breakfast at 6:30. We usually try to have a snack or something before late seating, so that the kids are not too starved by 8:00.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vicki

Hi. Glad you will be joining us. It will be our first ever cruise and I am very excited.Looking forward to meeting you and your girls.

Hello, all!

I was delighted to find this board, since my husband, Kevin and I, will be sailing on the Mousefest cruise with you!

We sailed on the Mousefest cruise with our daughters in 2004, and had a great time. Now daughter #1 will be entering college, and daughter #2 busy preparing for her finals in high school, so it is just the two of us this time.

Our Mousefest 2004 cruise, our first and only cruise, was awesome. I'm sure every Disney cruise is awesome, but meeting all the Mousefest folks like Deb and Dave and Scott, the extra perks and activities, and mostly meeting new friends who are as obsessed with all things Disney as we are, was the icing on the cake! And for those of you who love holiday decorations, but haven't sailed in December, the ship--and even Castaway Cay--is just lovely. Keep an eye open for snowstorms!

We will be on Deck 5 in one of the "secret porthole" rooms, so we are very happy with our location and our price. As much as we would like a veranda, we found we really aren't in the room much on a four day cruise. There's just too much to do! We'll also be at the Music a few days prior to the cruise and at Movies a few days afterwards, again looking forward to enjoying the holiday decorations and activities and participating in the Mousefest meet.

I have lurked on this board for quite some time, but had a problem posting that has just been resolved, so I am new to this part of it, so bear with me patiently until I get the hang of it.

I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you in December and having some new friends to countdown with and share the excitement as we get closer

Joan (Donutday)
