Dec '10 TR:I Will Not Stop Stalking ADRs Until I Get To WDW!(MARCH TR LINK) 3/26

How funny she thought you called again

But at least you now know your tickets will be on their way snail mail

Feel better soon :goodvibes

No sick time!:confused3 Not sure how that is logically since you work with children who always get sick!

Glad the tickets are still in process and not forgotten!

:welcome:

I didn't live in Vista when I was a CP, I was in Chatham :) I'm glad I made the right decision bc my college roomie was in Vista the program before mine and hated it! She's typically very easy going even though she's an only child but was used to roommates in college so when she didn't like it, I knew I probably wouldn't !!!!

In PA, you have to take the Praxis to get your teaching certification. You have to take reading, writing, and math before you do student teaching. For your cert, you have to take a Fundamentals and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment exams to get your cert to teach. I passed the Fund my first time back in 2007 but I'm still working on the other one. I take it again March 12th. I failed by a point in Nov so we'll see this time around. Lang Arts/Reading is my worst of it so I've gotten out my old college books/binders and started just looking at those to refresh. I did horrible in the Lang Arts/Reading classes in college so now It's coming back to haunt me!

I'll have to check out your PTR!

I didn't mind Vista at all, of course back then I didn't know better and wasn't really in the know with all the places you could stay. But I ended up living with a great group of girls, had fun boy neighbors right across the hall (like "Friends"!) and a decent location. But yes, the apartments in Chatham were WAY nicer looking.

That totally stinks about the Praxis! I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you need all that in Florida - you just have to pass your subject tests. I think. But I'm sure you will definitely pass this time! I'm jealous you will be moving to Orlando at some point! I love living down here in South Florida, but I have always felt very much at home in Orlando as well. I applied/interviewed for a position at Celebration School last year but they gave it to someone in house . I still think about re-locating every now and then though - but not many openings and I would really like to be in a school I think.

T
I lived in Vista Way too- but i don't think there were other options during my time there (1996). I think VW was it. I was in a lovely 3 bedroom ground floor with 5 other roommates. It was very odd sharing a bedroom with someone. I was a senior in college, about to graduate when i did the program and had been living with my boyfriend at the time (now hubby!), so it was quite a change, but fun. I had wonderful roomies and we still keep in touch! I miss them greatly and we've been trying to do a reunion forever. We also had fun boy neighbors across the hall! we hung out with them often and we still keep in touch with 3 of them too! 15 years ago and the friendships survive!

Love the updates Megan, sorry about all the bills- when it rains, it pours, right? My CC is crazy right now too- but it is a Disney visa, so more points, right? I paid off some of our DVC on it and just paid our DVC dues on it, so should have some nice rewards for that to use in October at least! Can't wait to hear the next update!

I'm sorry about your SuperBowl loss :sad1: My BF that I told you in an earlier post at gone to the Pittsburg game the other week, well he went to the Superbowl too! I'm so jealous of him even though his team lost. He went to
all these cool Super bowl parties before the game & met so many celebrities!

Those were some awesome parade seats that you had. I'm telling you that the next time we go to WDW, I want to go with you or your brother!

Where you able to take pics of the Castle Suite when you did see it?

It's exciting to see your Birthday trip coming together!

Your plans look great! :cool1: I wish I was going in March, I could use a break from all this snow! I just told Brandon last night, the next vacation we take is going to be in February or March, to escape the winter!

Yes! I will call her when they arrive to thank her again! I'll be curious to see if they are hoppers or not!! The comp tix we always got as CMs were always hoppers so we shall see!

No sick time!:confused3 Not sure how that is logically since you work with children who always get sick!

I know :( I guess we should be happy the place is still in business! I've not even been there for 2 years and their enrollment is down by 1/2. I can use vacation days for sick days but we only get 5 a year and of course I've blown all mine going to WDW. I'm just glad I don't pay rent! :rolleyes1

Thanks! I read online that you have to have the same 2 tests that I have to take in PA (similar ones). 2 years ago when I took it, it was just one test but now I guess it's two. I'm going to stick with what I'm doing bc assuming I pass at some point, I hear it's very easy to get the FL cert by just having a copy of your out of state cert!

My friends Vista apt was overrun with bugs. Even after having them sprayed a few times, it was still a huge issue. The couldn't leave anything out and everything had to be in a container I guess but like most who don't know better, she had no clue what apt to pick. I on the other hand, did my research!!! I LOVED my 3rd floor chatham apt that was right next to the laundry building and we always had good parking spots..and no bugs!!

Thanks!!! I use my Disney Visa too + my Delta one for my flights so it's a good balance. The majority of my bills go to my Disney Visa. It seems that for my 1700 balance, there should be more than just 40 bucks of rewards points but I'll take what I can get! My uncles family saved up a ton one year and were able to pay off their entire resort + tix + DDP and still had money left for things to buy!

It was my brother's friend who got us the seats and she had to move back to MI to finish school so sadly she is not there! We usually stand in Frontland in front or near Pecos Bills and never had and issue with getting a spot there!

I was able to take pics of the castle suite. I had to do it with my cell phone though because it was a surprise that we were going up. I never worked with my phone on me at BBB but for some reason that day, I put it in my pocket and I'm glad I did, it was the first and only time I went up there! I have no clue where my pics are by my profile pic on here is of the castle suite with one of the CPs that I worked with!

I agree! It said on the DVD that I got that March 10 marks the start of the Peak Season for spring break but with Easter being at the end of April, I'm hoping it's not too crazy! We're going only 7 days after the Peak starts so I'll hope! Our DDP was $48 a day too which is :scared1: but with what we eat, the choices of food that we make, and past experience, we'll get our money's worth I hope!

MVMCP PART III

HAPPY FRIDAY DIS FRIENDS!!!

I hope everyone had a good week! I had 11 awesome kiddos today so it made my weekend plus they got to watch a movie and have a treat!

I know there has been buzz on my Facebook but I guess I'll announce it here too! Bro finally got a job in FL! He'll be working at Universal starting next week part time! I won't say the specific ride but it will be within Harry Potter :) Yay for him! :cool1: He also interviewed at a favorite chocolate location at DTD and has a 2nd interview next week too!

Things are looking up for sure, now if only I could pass my Praxis :rolleyes1
4 weeks to go until I take it again!

Now for the update!!!

When we left off, we were leaving the special parade area and off to thank Bro's friend for the spots. We found her and chatted for a few moments.

Soon the fireworks began!!

After the fireworks, we headed to Fantasyland to tackle some of their rides! All in all we rode: Peter, Small World, Snow White, and Pooh. We were thrilled to see the new Pooh line!

315-1.jpg

That's when we saw our parade friends from Miami. They of coursed used GR to jump the line to FP. I don't care what anyone says but when I'm paying $100 an hour for min of 6 hours, you better let me jump the line as a VIP. They tried telling us that VIPs don't jump the line or get immediate fast passes at our trainings. I of course know better :rotfl:

After riding in FL, we headed over to TM and rode Space twice, TTA, and Buzz. We ran into our Miami friends again! They of course jumped the line with their GR CM and rode twice. That was the last we saw of them because by that point it was 11:30, we were freezing and decided to call it quits on the rides.

We did head to the shops and mom bought a Tshirt, bro a pin, I bought some things too. We headed to the Confect. and got some sweet treats!

All in all we thought it was a good party but darn cold!!!

Between Halloween and Xmas, I enjoy Halloween better (sorry Xmas fans!) The only thing keeping me from Halloween would be the castle lights. I enjoy the trick or treating, costumes, parade, and fireworks better at Halloween. Christmas is awesome for the seasonal feeling of it but you can only eat so many of those darn "free cookies and apples" before you pop!!

Will we go back for MVMCP again, of course but I still like Halloween better!

On the way out I snapped a pic:

And with that we walked to the bus, got on with another family and were asleep by 1am!

UP NEXT:

-OUR LAST FULL DAY AT DISNEY, WILL WE MAKE A ROPE DROP THIS TRIP?!
-WDW MAIL FOR THE MARCH TRIP!!

Congrats to your Bro :wizard:

You are right, those castle lights never get old. They are gorgeous

I have to agree with you. I would take Halloween any day over Christmas Party.

The parade is better and firework show is amazing:thumbsup2

Congrats to your bro getting a job, that's awesome! :cool1:

Love the update! You're pictures are making me really rethink my next trip...it's gonna be SO hard not going around Christmas! :sad1: Although I'm really excited to finally go to a Halloween party!

I love the new Pooh queue...from what I've seen in the pictures! The ride opened when I was there, but they still had walls up around the new queue area so I didn't get to see it!

Love the castle pics! :lovestruc

That is great about your brother's job! Also great update! I love the fireworks pictures and I love the new Pooh queue too!

Congrats to your brother - okay but really to you...some special opportunities might come with your brother's new job for you too, right?

Love the fireworks shots! I want amazing pictures of fireworks, but haven't yet planned ahead! I like where you were to see them!

 Congrats for your brother! If I am thinking of the same chocolate place you are taking about, I hope he gets that one as it is my fav!

My DH said no more Disney trips until 2012, but I think he is bending on that :) So.... we may be going back this November! My trick to making him change his mind is telling him about all the trip reports I read, so thank you!

Thank! the queue was really cute! We didn't see much of it though because the line was pretty short but I could see how it would be a line hold up type of thing for kids who want to keep playing while they are waiting :rotfl:

Congrats to your brother! The castle lights are one of my favorite parts of Christmas at Disney.

Mine too!

Haha, I'm not sure? I don't know if they get a main gate type pass like Disney or what. The resort discounts would be nice too because I think you get Fast Pass type benefits if you stay on site so a May trip could be in the works for Universal..we'll see haha.

 Congrats for your brother! If I am thinking of the same chocolate place you are taking about, I hope he gets that one as it is my fav!

MICKEY MAIL!!!

Happy Saturday Dis Friends!!!

I've gotten Mickey Mail 3 times this week so I thought I would share it!!

First came the DVD!! I haven't watched it yet but it's free and 2011, why not?!

019-1.jpg

020-1.jpg

Next came our DME!!! I tried to play a trick on Mom and said that the tags said GF..they didn't but they did get all the info right for once! Looks like I won't have to call DME for this trip which I'm 100% okay with!

017-1.jpg

018.jpg

We've never had the black mickey heads before so it was fun to see the black ones for a change!

Finally, today came our free park tickets from GR!! CM Dawn did not disappoint and the tickets were delivered today!! To our surprise they were 3, 1 day , PARK HOPPERS!!!! It was a great surprise to find because now Mom won't have to upgrade her tix from Dec when we go in March! Not sure what we'll do with the extra 1 day. It says you can't upgrade it so I won't be able to apply it to my AP renewal but I'm sure someone will use it since it's good till 2031!

021-1.jpg

022.jpg

023-2.jpg

I thought I would share some other things too! Bro flew home for the weekend before his training at Universal begins on Wed and brought a surprise from his trip to Hilton Head Island!

025-1.jpg

I love the Tshirt!! He said the resort specific stuff was limited, tshirts, blanket, shot glasses, and mugs were pretty much it. His friends still had their holiday discounts so he was able to get it super cheap!

I also decided to buy this off of WDW.com. The reviews were pretty good on it and a lot of people said it was a good airplane/car ride arrival shirt! I agree! Hopefully it fits!

027-1.jpg

It came to $28 with tax, sales tax (stupid Ohio tax on clothes :() , and shipping.

Also, I think I mentioned about buying the Cinderella Pearl Cages on Ebay. I had 3 close friends with birthdays in Feb and thought the necklaces + gift cards were good birthday gifts!

002-2.jpg

009.jpg

I also found these at my local grocery store!

006.jpg

Finally, I found this at Hallmark for my friend M (from the Oct trip) She's been having such a hard time getting a job so I figured some extra pixie dust would be good for her!

010-1.jpg

The girls all got their gifts and loved them! I can't wait to see what I get in March!!!

That's it for now!!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE MARCH PTR UPDATES AND MORE DEC TRIP UPDATES!!!

That was a great update! Love getting Disney mail!

I LOVE those signs at Hallmark - I just can't narrow it down to one so I haven't bought any yet. I'm also not-so-subtley hinting that I want one as a potential birthday gift every time my mom and I see them  Too bad my birthday isn't til May.

The Disney shirt you bought...where did you get it? I went to wdw.com and it was NOT disney  Or did you just mean the disney store? Just curious, I'm always looking for different looking disney tees!

The shirt is from disneystore.com

If you click on Woman's Tees its on that page. They come in blue also and show both colors so that might be why you missed seeing it.

I hope it was a good buy!

Wow, that is a lot of Mickey Mail! I love the new 2011 DVD, the past few years have been so boring, but this one is fun! I almost want to watch it again, even though I just watched it a couple of weeks ago...

That shirt is so cute! They have a lot of cute shirts on disneystore.com right now, but I'm waiting til my trip is closer to buy anything!

I almost got that Cinderella plaque yesterday! But I got the "Faith, Trust, Pixie dust" one instead, I've wanted that one forever! :woohoo:
