MARCH TRIP IS PAID!!!

Happy Sunday Dis Friends!

I hope everyone has had a good weekend! Mine was pretty busy yesterday. I studied for my Praxis test (6 weeks to go!), went to the eye dr. My prescription has changed from -5.25 to -5.75 which he said was due to the cheap contacts I've been wearing since Jr. High So he suggested that I try new ones that are "breathable" which resulted in me having a massive migraine between the new contacts and the stronger lenses + my lack of sleep that day + hunger. My mom and I also went shopping. The VB store by us was having 50% off but I didn't see anything I liked or needed. Mom almost bought a backpack but decided against it since it was still $44 and she didn't really need it. After a dinner at Cracker Barrel, we headed home and I ended up in bed at 8pm and 3 migraine pills later I finally fell asleep around 11.
Today is a little better so far. I'm having a mild headache but between the new contacts + I'm off my active BC starting today (sorry TMI!), I have a feeling it's going to be a long week of adjusting!

THE MARCH TRIP IS PAID OFF!!!

I went on wdw.com yesterday and paid the $700+ off with my CC. Considering the whole trip was only $990 for the 2 of us, we didn't have to do the whole living paycheck to paycheck to pay it off which I like!

I also called today and added a room request to my reservation. There has been a lot of talk on the boards about people not being able to add room requests but the CM I spoke with added it for me + my birthday celebration!! I added building 6 to my request. I'm assuming that building 6 holds standard rooms?? We could only book a standard and I figured 6 is closer than 7 but since we are still 7 weeks away, any building would be fine as long as it's refurbished! We'll see what I end up with!!

I bought an early birthday gift for myself and one for my mom thanks to (exwdwcm) and her post of the Cinderella Carriage Cage Necklaces post on Ebay!

So it looks like mom and I will for sure be picking pearls in March!
The necklaces were $3.50 each + $2 shipping total. I read that the pearl picking is $17 total but the cage will only fit a pearl that's 8mm or smaller so I'll be hoping for a small pearl this time since my other two are 8mm+! Mom has never done pick a pearl and has never seen it done so it will be fun for us!

I also went back online a few days ago and bought 3 more for 3 of my friend's birthdays that are in Feb. One of the girls lives/works at WDW, one is an AP/DVC holder, and the other one goes at least once a year so I thought the necklace + gift card would be great birthday gifts!

Finally, I started to put my binder/folder together. Since it's a short trip, I've worked at WDW, and I hate carrying the big binders, I've made one again that is the folder but has the binder holder things in it:

No tabs sorry! But it will have our flight info, DME info, resort info, ADRs, menus for the ADRS and FQ CS, and a budget sheet. I also went to Disney Visa and was able to print out a listing of the discounts that are offered with a Disney Visa. I want to do the special photo this time which we've never done!

Well I guess that's it for now. I was going to post our schedule of fun but I'll put that in another post! It's 40 degrees today in Cincy so I'll be out washing my car + getting things I need this week at school since my theme is cooking!!!!

Yes special seats!!! Let's just say that my brother met friends with all types of connections in the short amount of time that he was down there and several of them happen to work the parades at MK!

Yes! I always go with a list. I typically get things for my 2 bosses at work + the 1 or 2 teachers that take over my classroom while I was gone so it was nice to use 20% off to get those things! So in that case, yes I needed to get those things for them!! Considering my boss let me off to go to WDW 4 times last year, she deserved a nice gift haha.

I always felt the same way about the laundry issues in college. I mean, it's not hard to set an alarm to check on your things without having to babysit it and if you really want to take my things that's fine but just be aware that they are gently used!

I thought about the pearl not fitting too When we did pick a pearl at TL, my college roomie thought hers was small and the CM offered if she wanted to trade it in for another one (already picked) but she declined since it was her pearl that she picked. I guess this time I'll hope for a little baby, not a big one like my other 2!!

2. Love the pics for evidence of you being a Steeler fan. DH thinks they have too many wins (he is a Raider fan) so no gold and black here.
3. Le Chefs sounds good; it is on my to do list for summer.
4. We take breaks and head to the pool too- summer or not.

MVMCP PART I

Happy Tuesday Dis Friends!

I know what you're thinking, I never post a TR update during the week but I'm having the Disney Blues today! The only thing that is going to get me to March 17 is my day-by-day desk calendar featuring beach scenes..for real!

It hasn't helped that we've had rain/ice all day and bro is on a mini "weekend" to Hilton Head DVC resort! His friend is a WDW vacation planner (sells tickets) and sold APs and got a great bonus so 4 of them went to Hilton Head today-Thurs. He's been sending me pics left and right and it's making me super depressed even though it's only 50!

HHI used to be our vacation spot + WDW. We would go to HHI yearly until we were 7 and 5 and then added WDW to the mix and did each of them every other year! The last time we were at HHI was in 1998. My dad bought a fancy van for us to use in travels to HHI (we only fly to WDW) and so we took the fancy van with TV to HHI in 1998 and haven't been back since In 99 we went to Cali/DL/San Fran, 2000 we went to WDW, 2001 and 02, we went to Colorado, 03 to WDW, 04 to Colorado and then we sold the van Oh well!!!

So 13 years later and the 'beach hater' aka bro is the first to return to HHI = jealous beyond belief and the fact that they are at the DVC is depressing too haha! We used to stay at a Hilton on the beach but the DVC pics look awesome too and it looks like they even have refillable mugs!!!

Okay back to reality of the cold, snow and ice of Cincy!

SUNDAY DEC 12, 2010
MVMCP

When we left off, we were headed to MK for MVMCP! We got there just after 4 and got our wrist bands. The older lady that put mine on put it on too tight and didn't latch it where the end it tucked and latched so I asked for a new one. She gave me slight attitude but whatever, I don't want it tight and the guest is always right..right? haha

After we walked in, we roamed the streets of main street waiting for bro to arrive since he stayed behind to get extra study time in. We met him a the flag pole and saw the flag retreat for the first time. We also met some of his friends that work the parades!!

Me!!

After the flag retreat, we headed into the park and for the life of me, I can't recall what we did or where we went but I know we rode the following rides throughout the night/day:
POTC, Magic Carp, Jungle Cruise, HM, IASW, PP, Snow W, Sp Mt, TTA, and Buzz.

We then had a decision to make..dinner. The choices were CHH or Pecos Bills.

We ended up at Pecos. Mom, dad, and bro had the taco salad and I had the burger.

After we ate, we had a few mins to spare so I decided to head to BBB to say hi to the FGIT and mom + bro went to get a spot for the castle lighting. Dad decided to go with me and had a seat on the couch while I talked to the FGITs. Sadly, I did not walk out covered in Pixie Dust but I guess I didn't ask!

After the reunion, it was castle lighting time!

After the lighting, we went and rode Pirates. Bro left after the ride to talk to his parade friends before the first parade began. Mom and I had other ideas..

We went and checked out the dance party!

I guess "before we had kids" my mom and dad said they would eat in there and talk about some dinner show..but of course that was "before we had kids"

After we watched the dance party and got some goodies to eat, bro met back up with us and said our seats were all set for the parade! I said "yay special seats on the curb for the parade! Where are our seats at??"

He replies.."we aren't sitting on the curb..."

UP NEXT...

And no, our seats were NOT on the street!!!!

I agree with going to see every holiday! Easter was eh IMO plus with spring break it didn't make it all that great but the other holidays are awesome!!

I'm glad you got a carriage cage for your pearl. Wasn't that the best price!?! I could not believe that when I read about it on the Dis. Have you tried putting your larger pearl in it yet to see if it will fit? I'm curious to know. I was so nervous that our pearl would not fit, but thankfully it did.

The lighting of the castle pictures are so pretty.
I can't believe your gonna leave us hanging! Can't wait to see your spot!

Ohhhh a cliffhanger!!!! Can't wait to see where you sit. I love the pictures of the castle lighting. The castle is just so pretty all lit up. One of these years I hope to make it at Christmas. Yay I love the Christmas party! I can't believe I have never seen the castle lighting ceremony, you would think I'd schedule that in at least once in the 2 years I've gone for Christmas! I'm actually getting really sad about not going at Christmas again this year, I'm trying to figure out how to take a quick short trip after Thanksgiving, but I don't know if Brandon will go for it...my guess is no!

Those dance parties are so cute, it seems like they are empty all the time, though!

Haha sorry! The last pic that I took of the start of the parade pretty much gives it away if you can tell by the location where we were at! All I'll say is it was near some yummy smelling funnel cakes!

You so have to go! The say the first two weeks of Dec are the best time to go but IMO, they are becoming more popular for families. We've seen a huge crowd difference from when we went this year to when we went last year and the year before that all on the same weekends. It still isn't as bad as Xmas and New Years though!

No..we were not in the parade!!! That would have been cool though and I can say I've never seen a MK parade so close before

Haha..sorry! Maybe I'll post the update on Friday! I'm hoping I'll have a post soon saying that we got our travel docs for in March but I'm a bit worried. It seems our mail has been less than..well horrible. My mom sent my bro a card w/gift cards 2 weeks ago that he has yet to receive but has gotten other cards sent after that. I'm waiting on an FSA check from my medical which was sent in the 22nd and hasn't arrived yet as well as the WDW vacation video so hopefully everything arrives soon so I can start doing Travel Doc updates for the March trip but I'll have the DEC TR update on Friday!

Thanks! He didn't take many because he just has his phone and they are mainly of places we used to visit when we were kids: the hotel we stayed at, the beach, some restaurants. If you go to allears.net, you can find them in their DVC section. They list pics of everything including the studio-2 brs, the beach house, etc.

Thanks for catching up! I love when TR/PTR have chapters because sometimes I'm on the go and don't have time to search through pages so chapters are my bff!! I did not try and put a pearl in my cage because they are glued to the necklace and the ring that I have. The necklace that I got last year for my birthday was $150+ so I won't try and take that pearl out and my ring is somewhere in a box We'll just keep hoping for small pearls!!
