Dec 09 PTR The Molecular change is in full swing. pg40 the pink puppy

I think it was the 80's pictures in Europe thing that reminded me of the movie. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the 80's. For my bachelorette party we went to the Awesome 80's Prom. It's sort of like a party/dance/ show set in a 1989 prom. IT WAS SO COOL!! :lmao: I'll have to see if my maid of honor has a picture of my in my 80's garb. Good times!!
Your Bachelorette party sounds like it was so much fun. I would LOVE to see pictures from that.
I had saved all my homecoming and prom dresses, I don't know why, it' not like I would wear them again, but I'm glad I did save them, one halloween I cut one down to size for my daughter and she was a princess for halloween, another year I cut down my purplish/blueish prom dress and made my DD the coolest vampire outfit for halloween. I felt so Martha stewart like. and I saved money.

Crap, I forgot about that one tiny point. Even on my cable high speed it takes a few to load, so I can only imagine what it would be like on dial up.
Well I appreciate the thought anyway. It was awfully nice of you.

Let's break it down here:dancer::lmao:Hahaha, when ever I hear "break it down" I get the uncontrollable urge to do the running man, but seriously, we are talking ADR's. Why? Cause I'm hungry.

First up, Whispering Canyon, never been, but can't wait to go.

Second up, Planet Hollywood. When I last went in 2007, the DDP still included appetizers, I got the bruchetta, oh my word. If heaven had a taste, it would be bruchetta, (or cotton candy) I ate every last drop and probably would have licked the plate had my main course not shown up just as I was finishing my appetizer. I got the chicken fajita, so very good!!! I can't remember dessert, more then likely I didn't order any, or I ordered but didn't eat it....wait, no it was cheesecake.

Third up. Crystal Palace, First time was in 2006 with the fam damily, we did lunch, it was unbelievabley hot that day, DH was unbelievabley cranky, nothing appealed to me, I just ate fruit, DS Jim went to town on the shrimp, DD Reese ate fruit and mac-n-cheese. DH, I don't know what he ate, I was ignoring him by then. But I did love the atmosphere and the characters, our server was slow, but the place was also packed, it took forever to get the check, and then there was a mixup but he took care of it real quick.
tigger.jpg

I love Tigger.

I went here again in Dec 2007, it was breakfast this time and my Birthday, I think the breakfast is better then lunch if you ask me. It's all about the bacon, I waited until after I met Piglet before I got any bacon though, didn't want to hurt the little guys feelings.

Fourth up. Sci-Fi Dine in, I first ate here in April 2006, it was our first trip ever to WDW, DH was Grumpy McGrumperson for the majority of the trip, but he became Mr. Happy McHapperson when we went to Sci-Fi. That's where the magic was for him. He is constantly quoting movies or acting out the scenes from one (Toy Story is his favorite believe it or not) Anyway, Kent wasted no time when it came to bringing out the Danny Zucco in him (SP?) You know, rockin-n-rollin and what not. The food itself was good too, The kids and I did the burgers and fries, Kent had the ribs. Our server was on the money, he was so great.
sci.jpg

Check us out there, Lord was I really thinking I could pull that hair color off? :scared:
I went again in 2007, we did dinner there and I got the chicken breast with Bruchetta, The chicken was dry but the Bruchetta was good, and the artichoke dip was fantastic.

Next up, Akershus, never been, can't wait to go. I've heard the breakfast is pretty good.

Sixth. 50's Primetime. I went in 2007, it was just ok in my book, I think the thing that amazed me most is my parents had the same huge wooden fork and spoon hanging in their kitchen until 1991. I didn't care for what I ordered, fried chicken, it was a little slimey inside, and collard greens, uuummmm PUKE!!! We are trying it this time again, it was my mothers pick, I know she will love the interaction, this will be a good place to dare her to do something, mom never turns down a good dare. One time at Apple Bees I dared mom to mispronounce everything she ordered. She ordered the fetucini Alfredo, but it came out sounding Fa-dook-a-sign All-free-doo :lmao: she does it with a straight face too. SO this should be fun.
Help me think of some dares that I can give to mom.

seventh on the list. Coral Reef:banana::woohoo::yay:
jam034.jpg

my all time favorite. Did this first in 2006, Originally we were going to have our TS in Mexico, but I let ((made) DH look through the Birnbaum book of mine and he saw a pic of CR and he wanted that, so I called and changed the ADR just for him, and I'm glad I did. It was a lunch ADR, I was super surprised they didn't have more of a seafood selection, Reese and I got the chicken, it was spicey but good, Kent and Jim got the steak. I had the chocolate wave for the first time, that's all it took, they have me now.
Our server was so great, he and my son talked music for a long time, he was real attentive. It was the atmosphere and the service that brought me back again in 2007. We went for dinner this time, and they had snow crab legs, oh my heck, I was in seafood heaven. I also chose this place to be my birthday celebration for this trip. a lot of fun with a touch of elegance.

Last but certainly not least. Liberty Tree Tavern, been twice before when it was a character meal, sadly now it no longer is, but the food was good enough to keep me coming back. I know everyone else in the party will like it too.

So there you have it, my thoughts on my ADR's, I think I need a sandwhich now.
You might have noticed that in every picture Jim covered his face, that was our whole trip, I only got two pictures of him where he didn't have his face covered.
jam046.jpg

Typical boy so into playing arcade games he didn't even notice the camera.

Anywhoooo, I will post more of my thoughts about Disney things again soon. I'm thinking maybe my thoughts on the characters.

Thanks for going in to detail! I have quite a few of the same restaurants on our ADR list and I have never been.

Every time I saw a picture of Jim I just heard: "UGH... I hate my life! Why did my parents bring me here... UGH!" :rotfl2: Teenage boys... am I right?

You are so right!!
He was so impatient when it came to the characters.
JIM: Ma, why do we have to hug every puppet we see?
ME: there're not puppets Jim, they're characters.

He hated going into Minnies house and Mickey's house.
JIM: Ma, all we're doing is standing in line looking at stuff, this is a line ride, can we go on a real moving ride?

Going into muppets 3-D show.
JIM: Ma, I don't want to see the puppets in person, what makes you think I want to watch them on a big t.v. while wearing stupid glasses?
ME: They're not puppets Jim, they're muppets.
JIM: I thought you said they were characters.
ME: They are, except for the muppets, they're just called the muppets.
JIM: Why? What's the difference?
ME: Jim Henson and Walt Disney.

He did enjoy himself, I mean he wasn't whiney the whole time, not like Kent anyway. And him covering his face for all the pictures actually became the big joke on our trip, I would try and catch him off guard, that kid was quick though.

Thanks for your diing review!

I'm just getting into ADRs, so I don't have alot to add.

Whispering Canyon - Never been, all the reviews I read, it's pretty awesome. I'm planning to do a resort hop for decor, so maybe I'll just wander around.

Planet Hollywood - eh, I have one in NYC if I need a fix. Just be careful of the $15 hamburgers!

Crystal Palace - ooooh! Definitely on my wish list, but I'm not goin' by myself. Just the look of the place is awesome!

Sci-Fi - loved it, loved it, loved it. Alot of reviews, don't give this place a good ranking, but I thought everything was pretty good. Can't bet the atomsphere! Though, I wouldn't mind it, if our ADR was ontime.

Akershus - it was great! you'll have a lovely time and the princess will definitely interact with you. I have a review in my May TR. I would do this again, but again, not by myself.

50s Prime Time - this one scares me. Is this the place that yells at you and the servers are in character? eh, don't like that. I went to a place in Chicago that did that - Ed Delick's (or something like that) and I hated it.

Coral Reef - I want to say I think I did this years ago and it was A-ok by me. I have some cool pics of the fish tank.

Liberty Tree Tavern - never been, but on the list of places to maybe try. All the reviews say it is not worth going without the characters. However, somday, I'll get there.

That was fun, thank you!!!! :goodvibes

LOL I am betting that may be a bit of the attitude I get from my 13 year old on this upcoming trip! We will see...I'll threaten to take away the cell phone or xbox and maybe I will get some decent pix out of him! To answer your other question...I am not 100% sure where my cousin is in Germany?? I would have to ask. When I send him mail, it is not a German address because it is an American base. So, the address is APO, AE.

The play by play with your and your son is great! I also love your family pictures. I really enjoy the characters too!! I still like to get a picture and autograph of all of them. DH was never really into the character thing until he started going with me, now I've turned him on to the dark side. We try to find as many as we can and we love to get a really rare one.

Whispering Canyon - the food is yummy and the atmosphere is a giggle - you'll love it :thumbsup2 I'm considering cancelling Ohana and changing to WCC if I can, we arent noodle people and thats now started to put us off Ohana :confused3

Planet Hollywood - we went on our first trip to the world, the food was good but the place was PACKED so it seemed to take forever to get anything

Crystal Palace - We love this place  We've done breakfast and lunch - lunch was so-so but breakfast was fab!! So we're doing that again this trip

Sci-Fi - We havent eaten here yet and I'm soooo excited!!! :woohoo:

Akershus & 50's prime time - never tried them, let me know your views :wizard:

Coral Reef - loved it there, wonderful atmosphere and the steak, THE STEAK!! Just beautiful! Wanted to go again this trip but are trying somewhere different :sad1:

Liberty Tree Tavern - *drools* I loved the meat here, couldnt get enough of the stuff!! We are going again on this trip :yay: I'll miss the characters though :sad1: so will probably want even more meat :lmao:

I was threatened with no dessert if I didn't eat my collard greens. I tried hiding then under my chicken bones, but the server caught me, said she knew every trick in the book. She gave in though and let me havee dessert.

You have my sympathy:flower3: A teenager at Disney is not easy, especially if they are too "cool" For it all. I know Jim liked it, he didn't act too cool for the most part, if he was having fun everybody knew he was having fun, if he wasn't having fun then he got the "whatever" attitude, that's my least favorite of all attitudes.

when we lived in Germany all our mail went through an apo in New York, some of my friends didn't believe me that I moved to germany, they really thought I was in New York.

I was telling myself that this year I wasn't going to do the whole character thing, but my mom wants too, especially Tinkerbell, so I am excited again to get pics and autographs that I haven't gotten so far.
That's great that your DH is into the characters, it's always more fun when the person your with is onboard and having fun with the characters too.

Whispering Canyon - the food is yummy and the atmosphere is a giggle - you'll love it :thumbsup2 I'm considering cancelling Ohana and changing to WCC if I can, we arent noodle people and thats now started to put us off Ohana :confused3

I can't wait to try Whispering Canyon, I heard it's a fun meal and the food is good, I'm a little weary about wearing my birthday button there, I heard they make you sing Happy Birthday to yourself out loud for all to hear and trust me, nobody wants to hear me sing, My dog wimpers and grunts when I sing.

YOu will love Sci-Fi, I think it's an awesome date ADR, it's romantic in a kooky way.

Coral Reef, I am dreaming about this meal, I can't wait.

Liberty Tree Tavern, I loved it as a character meal, but I think the food is great too, it's down home cooking to me, just like granmaw does it. I like the atmosphere too, all taverny, my mom will love this place.

Geez, I can't comment on any of your ADRs! I've never been to any of those places, so I guess I'll have to visit them vicariously through you guys, lol

I've always wanted to go to 50's Primetime and also Sci Fi. Can't wait to hear about your experiences there in Dec.

:sad::sad: I talk to Marzi today, there is a big chance that she can't make it on this trip, she is charge nurse at a dialsys clinic, they are down 3 nurses, even if they hire 3 this week they have to train for 10 weeks, plus there wouldn't be anybody to cover Marzi's position, we need a miracle, she said she would know for sure by the end of the week. This long long week. When I hung up the phone with her, I cried, I mean it was a shoulder shaking, can't understand a word I'm saying full on bawl session. I haven't seen my BFF in 25 years, she's more then my BFF, she is my soul, my kindred spirit, my bosom buddy.
My DD Reese, God bless her, just held me and let me cry, she offered to go with me so it would still be a foursome, I would take her too, but I can't come up with that kind of money in such a short time. It was a pity offer I know, she doesn't care much for Disney, or for hanging out with "Old People" (that'd be me) but she would have sacrificed.
It's not really about being the 3rd wheel, I just wanted to see Marzi so bad.
I know it will still be a special trip, my mother is a 1st timer, that alone is special, and the fact that she's my mom. And I really am looking forward to getting to know Janis, Mom tells me all the time how great Janis is, and how much fun she can be. It won't be a wasted trip but still:sad::sad:I wanted to see Marzi at Disney. I am going to be making deals with God tonight!!!

Maybe I wouldn't have taken it so hard if I didn't have the day I had. I woke up last night with major knee pain, the kind you can't ignore and my leg was all swollen. I went to the Dr. today, even though I have an appt for a week from today. He gave me a shot in my knee which helped the swelling go down, he also gave me a stronger pain med. But he made me go back on my crutches, I was enjoying my freedom from them so much, he thinks I over did it, and tried to get better too fast. I start physical therapy soon, but the worst part is, I'm off work now until October 19. I was hoping to be back by the 1st. So I told him I have a Disney trip planned, I can't miss so much work and then finally show up just to take off on vacation, the Dr. said "Disney? (inhales deeply scratches his chin, exhales deeply) I don't know if you'll be ready.":worried::sad: I told him very firmly, "I will be ready, even if I have to spend every day in bed until I can return to work." He's all, "That's alot of walking Ty, maybe if you get a wheel chair."

I DO NOT WANT TO DO DISNEY IN A WHEEL CHAIR! I'll be missing everything, my view will be everyone's butt. I want a castle view, not a butt view.

I'm such a sap right now. OK, let's get positive here.

If Marzi can't go then I will be very attentive to mom, which really I am so excited to be there for all of her Disney firsts. This will be a great mom/daughter trip and I enjoy my mom's company so much, I laugh my rear end off when we're together. Janis...added bonus, 3 times the fun. Mom said we'll be the tree musketeers. Plus it's my birthday when I go.

Marzi did say if she had to back out of Disney then she would take a week off in Feb to come visit me. So it's not like this is my only chance to see Marzi. And we can always a plan a trip for another time.

Wow, I just talked this all out and I feel better, I'm so glad I have the dis, all of you are so great, I feel like I know all of you on a level that's just more then a chat room, ya know. You are my friends. Thank you guys.

It's not the end of the world.

I've always wanted to go to 50's Primetime and also Sci Fi. Can't wait to hear about your experiences there in Dec.

Feel free to live through me, I will be extra detailed for you when I write my TR.

You leave in 2 days!!! I can imagine the excitement you are feeling right now. Have a great trip.

Here are lots of  and :flower3: and GREAT, BIG DIS-Family :grouphug:

We're all feeling for you and hoping that some Pixie Dust falls your way soon

Awww honey :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

No wonder you are upset, and why does everything always hit at once! Life sucks lately!

Like you said at the end of your post though - just try and look for the positive, you will still be going disney, the 3 musketeers will have a brill time and you'll get another thing to look forward too if Marzi comes in Feb (thats something else to plan and look forward too once the disney dust settles :thumbsup2 )

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles at the doctors :sad1: You need to park your butt on the sofa RIGHT NOW and keep it there until he tells you to take it off! REST! REST! REST! You sound like my mum, she'll have an operation and will want to be home cooking tea in the evening! There's no keeping her still!! And if you've got to take a chair around the world - think of how happy your feet will be! ;)

No worries!! I know it's hard to think this way now, but things have a funny way of working out for the best. And in the mean time TAKE IT EASY!!!! I can only imagine how bored you must be, I've been there myself and I know you now have the no mobility thing. Start to watch as many Disney movies as you can get your hands on!! It will help get you in the mood and help pass some of the time. I will keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer that everything will go your way :) LOL I feel I've been doing a lot of that lately but what's one more, right!?!?! I will send some happy thoughts and good karma your way!

Thanks Ty!

I was so sad to read about Marzi not going on this trip :guilty: That is just terrible and I'm so sorry. I totally understand where you're coming from - you had this trip envisioned in your mind and now you have to adjust it, it's hard to do.

But like you said it's not the end of the world and there can be future trips w/ Marzi....maybe this is the world telling you that you should do this trip w/ your mom and then do a future WDW visit w/ Marzi.

Hang in there and who knows? This could all work out for the best. :flower3:

And, :cheer2: I hope you feel better soon!!! See you when I get back next week.

I sincerely hope that all of this works out for you! No matter what happens...remember you WILL be in Disney! Hopefully Marzi is able to go anyway and the leg is up to you...don't push yourself now...save it for WDW!!!

Here are lots of  and :flower3: and GREAT, BIG DIS-Family :grouphug:

You are so right about everything, and it would be cool to have something else to look forward to. I am staying positive, I refuse to feel sorry for myself.

I am resting plenty, my word I stayed in bed today until 2:00pm:eek: I felt so guilty doing so but kept telling myself "It's for the sake of Disney!" I know my feet will feel great if I have to use a chair, but I really enjoy the walking around, so like I said, I am resting plenty and will continue to do so.

I have gone over things in my mind, everything happens for a reason, and if Marzi can't go I can still think of plenty of reasons why this trip will still be fabulous. I mean duh! it's Disney!

On my list of Disney movies to watch tomorrow are, Lady and the Tramp, The Fox and the Hound, Dumbo and the Aristocats. (I'm so happy I started collecting the Disney movies for my kids when they were little) It will be an animal themed day. DH is taking me to rent movies tomorrow night, I haven't seen Bolt, so that's on my list.

I also plan to have a Pixar day, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 1 and 2 etc...etc...

Thanks Ty!

I'm already planning a trip (in my mind of course) for Marzi and I should she not be able to go this time, who knows, maybe a reunion trip for just the 2 of us will work out even better. Regardless of the outcome I will have a great trip.

I am already feeling better, thank you so much.
I know you are already at Disney now, I hope you are having the best time and your trip is turning out to be everything you envisioned.

I sincerely hope that all of this works out for you! No matter what happens...remember you WILL be in Disney! Hopefully Marzi is able to go anyway and the leg is up to you...don't push yourself now...save it for WDW!!!

Thank you.
So True, my healing is up to me, I am taking it so easy now, for a bit I felt stupid going back to the crutches, but if I have to hobble around on those to ensure Disney, then that's what I'll do. I need to be in tip top shape for the venture.

Ty, I'm so sorry about everything. What a bummer. But, you still get to go to Disney! And you get to spend quality time with your mom. That's priceless. Hopefully things work out! I'll say some prayers for you.

Your ADR's sound wonderful! And yummy. I can't wait for your reviews! Get lot's of pics.

I will have to do some serious thinking about ways to get your mom at 50's. I remember a mom having to stand in a corner because she was being too hard on her kids. It was quite funny.

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you!!
