Dec 09 PTR The Molecular change is in full swing. pg40 the pink puppy

I am lovin it!.. I miss Germany as well. I still get a birthday card from my
landlords. They are great people. I think some of my fondest memories are
from my trips to wine fests and of course Octoberfest. I believe that some of
my group and I have the dubious honor of actually being thrown out of a beer
tent in Munich for singing "Role out the barrel" while dancing on the table. I
can't remember if it was our singing or dancing on the table that got us kicked
out.... hmmm did you ever try cola-beer?

Prost!

Gene
I hope to one day take my kids to Germany. I just need to win the lottery first.

I went to plenty of wine fests with my dad, (I always got a soda though) I loved the smell inside of the tents. I'm telling you, there is always some kind of fest going on. We would go on volksmarches every weekend, I still have every medal, plate and Beer stein from those marches.

Cola beer? Oh yeah. I have tried it. I'm remebering not liking it though.

Germany was some of my best times, best memories. I learned so much while having fun. I will have to post some pics of it.
oh, and to this day I still eat my fries with Mayonaise

Thrown out of a beer tent? I didn't even think that was possible, I can only imagine the amount of "Fun" you were having that they would have to toss you out.

A legal reason to shop.:lmao:

That stinks about a customs charge. So not right. I try not to order things, I hate the idea of a shipping fee or any other fee, it's like throwing money away. Althoughsometimes I have no choice but to order. I order alot of scrapbook stuff on line.

Just dont tell them that we dont really need a reason to shop ;)

It's stuff that I've had my eye on for ages and cant get over here - so I'm sure once I get the parcel and see the items that i'll forget about the charge - fickle arent I :lmao:

Your planner looks great!! :worship: and the scrapbook - brilliant :worship: Hubby loves goofy and kermit too! I'm so jealous of your photos with the monsters inc guys - do they still come out for photos? I would die for a photo!!

Great pages again! Glad to se no more public urination pictures on these pages!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I swear that in the next week or so I will be putting something up in the way of Disney scrapbook pages! I just have to take pix of them!

Thank you so much. I'm really excited to scrapbook this next trip, I'm already planning pages in my mind.
Monsters Inc. has a place in DHS, I can't remember exactly where, but they have always been there.
You know I have never seen a meet n greet with Kermit the frog, they should do that, I would be all over that frog.

Nope, no urination pictures this time, I would never post that on my PTR, I saved that for yours:lmao::rotfl:

I have been waiting patiently for you to post some pages, I might have to start hounding you.

I started feeling nostalgic after talking about Germany with Gene. My sister and I used to take weekend trips all the time. We took a 4 day tour and went to Austria, we got to visit the salt mines, we took a boat tour of lake Chimsea SP? We also spent a weekend at the Colenel Walker Hotel and went to the Eagles Nest in Berchestgaden, I wasn't too smart then, didn't quite know my history, so when we stepped out of the brass elevator into a restraurant I was like:confused3 Hitler hid out in a restaurant? Didn't people recognize him. It was a duh! moment.
We also went to Bonn for a weekend and visited Phantasia Land, we also did Europa Park and Holiday Park.

Just growing up in Germany was special, even if we had never traveled and took in the sights. It was just a great place to be.

This is Bo and I at the top of the Zugspitz in Garmish, check out the lake below us.
My parents were on this trip with us and we stayed at the neatest guest house, There was a military base not too far fom there, in the evenings we would go bowling.

And yes, I have been to the Original Cinderellas Castle, The Nueschvanstien. I was told that Walt Disney modeled Cinderellas castle after the Nueschwanstein, I don't think I was misinformed, you know what? I'm going to make it my mission to find out if this is actually true.
So that's it for my walk down memory lane, I will now return to the PTR currently in progress.

You're good! :worship:

"American tourists are already familiar with Neuschwanstein; the sleeping beauty Castle in Disney Land, was modeled on it." castles.org

Well looky there, you did the work for me, so it was sleeping beauty's castle and not Cinderellas, ok.
I have seen so many castles in my life I got to saying, "seen one, seen'em all, but I really do love the Neuschwanstein.

I'm happy you think my idea is good, hopefully you won't have to go that far and he'll do what he's supposed to do.

Thank you so much. I'm really excited to scrapbook this next trip, I'm already planning pages in my mind.

Can't wait to see more of your scrapbooking and im sure your pages from this trip will be amazing!!

OMG!! I'm so getting my stalking butt over to DHS and hunting those 2 down!! Thanks for letting me know :hug:

I wish they did a photo with kermit and miss piggy, that would be amazing!! I think they used to years ago but then stopped it :sad2:

I love your photos from germany, we have never been there but would love to one day

I  your photos from Germany. One day, I would like to go to Germany & Austria. I may still have peeps in Germany. ;)

I still have to make my binder cover. Hmmm....

I love the photos of Germany! Like that you totally rock the 80's look! I really want to get to Germany some day!!!!!!!! It is a big dream...first I have to take some time away from WDW though!! My cousin lives in Germany. He's in the Airforce and has lived there for about 4 1/2 years now. I think he is going to be there for about another 3 years at least.

I FINALLY caught up with your report! You've been a very busy girl

Thank goodness for the multi-quote feature :rotfl:

Has anyone ever been to MK on taping day? Just how bad is it? Does it stay crowded all day? Mostly in front of the castle or the whole park?

Any help or info would be so appreciated.

I've actually been there on a taping day. I would say that the front of Main St. USA is crowded, but just like during the parades, the crowds are roped off so there's still a walkway for others to move through.

If you're nervous about walking down Main St. to the entrance, I have a great idea for you. Just go to the train stop at Frontierland after your CP ADR and ride the train around to the entrance of the park. Exit the train and then walk right outta there!

Hope you all enjoyed our escapade, Mom and I had plans to do a Limey hiest but I kind of ruined that when I fell off the ladder and broke my leg, I suppose we still coul dhave tried, but oh well, maybe if I see her at Thanks giving we'll try then.

You guys are too funny! I had a lot of smiles reading this one :lmao:

I found a place online with all kinds of Disney games, word searches, puzzles, memory. That is what I am doing to pass the time, (because it's dragging) My DH thinks I'm a dork. "Why are you playing kiddie games?" I guess he forgot that every now and then I get out the game of Disney memory and he plays it with me. I didn't remind him of it because I'm afraid he'll quit playing it with me. Also I love to play Disney's scene it. I am the master of that game.

Have you ever been on Pixie Hollow? I checked it out b/c it was in a Disney Insider email and it is so much fun!! :goodvibes You get to create your own Disney fairies and play games w/ them. The games aren't all easy and it was super cool to design my own fairy & name her. I know it's for kids, but its a great escape.

I haven't played it in a while b/c it's a huge time waster for me, but in your case, maybe this is a good thing? Check it out here: http://disney.go.com/fairies/

Please be completely honest when answering this question.
So I have thought about wearing my pin everyday of my trip, but I kind of feel like it's cheating. I also feel like it will take away from the novelty of my actual B-day, but then again, I would love all the little extras.
Give me your totally honest opinion, should I just wear it on my B-day only?

I probably wouldn't wear it the whole time just b/c I don't love wearing pins, but I don't see any problem w/ people wearing them during their entire trip. Birthdays aren't as much fun when you're a grownup, so I say get as much joy out of it as you can! :cake:

Germany is my favorite country in WS, I almost felt like I was back in Germany, the smell of the glu vine brought me back to Christmas in Germany when we would go to the Krist Kindel Mart. Mom would always let me have a sip of her wine. When my sister and I were in High school, we took a day trip to Rhotenburg, it's a city enclosed by a huge wall, it was so spectacular, they had kobble stone roads, we went to a small cafe and ordered Glu Vine, later when we told my mom, she freaked out on us. "You can't be drining wine, you're too young" We didn't even realize when we ordered it that we would be "Drinking" we just thought, hey, let's order this like mom and dad used too. Oh well.

OMG! I've been to Rothenburg also! What a small world it is.

Me and my husband did a Christmas cruise on the Rhine a few years ago and Rothenburg was one of our favorite stops. The theme of the cruise was to go to the Christmas Markets - KrisKindelMarkt - they are so amazing! There's just nothing like it in the US. I love gluwein! A little taste just brings it all back.

Have you ever been to the one in Vienna? It is huge. We're hoping to go back again next Christmas.

Oh, and one more thing...how come you don't have a countdown timer on your signature? I love looking at the days ticking off :) You can get one at http://www.magicalkingdoms.com

Sooooo love your pictures from Germany!! I can imagine how amazing it was to grow up there and live there. I spent 6 months in England studying when I was in college, I could have stayed 6 more years it was some of the best times I've ever had. I will now have to add Germany to the Bucket List. LOL the Bucket List is about a mile long already!!

PS-Your pictures kind of remind me of National Lampoon's European Vacation!
AND your scrapbook looks awesome. I was also selective with my scrapbook pictures and then I put the rest in a regular photo album

I am so far behind on all my scrapbooking, I haven't even done Christmas of 06 yet. The pictures just keep piling up.

I wonder why they stopped meetngreets with the Kermit and Miss Piggy.?Germany is awesome, especially the chocolate.

I  your photos from Germany. One day, I would like to go to Germany & Austria. I may still have peeps in Germany. ;)

I still have to make my binder cover. Hmmm....
I loved Germany, I think all the trips I took with my sister while we were there is what makes it most memorable.
Get busy on that binder, times a wastin.

Oh yeah! I rocked the 80's wear like none other, seriously though, if they were to punish for fashion crimes, I would have a life sentence. I was all about rolling up the cuff of the jeans and slouching the socks, I don't know what I was thinking in that picture of me and my friends in the square, maybe my mom dressed me that day?:confused
Where in Germany is your cousin stationed?

Thanks fo rthe tip about taking the train, that's a great idea, seems very relaxing too.
I'm definitely going to go check out pixie hollow, lord knows I have nothing but time on my hands.
I loved Rhotenburg, my sister and I decided to walk the wall all the way around, she got beemed in the butt by a kid with a pea shooter, so we left the wall so she could chase him down. She caught him and threw his pea shooter in the bushes. Good Times!
I never cruised the Rhine, we lived on the Rhine when my Dad was stationed in Worms, the closest I ever got to a cruise though was eating fish and chips on the ferry boat.
My favorite Christmas Mart was in Nurenburg, I have never been to the one in Vienna.
On my last trip to WDW I bought my Dad a bottle of Gluwein. (Glow wine) He keeps saying he's going to open it but never does.
I don't have a ticker because I don't have the patience to set it up, I tried before and my computer is just too slow. I live in the Hollow (Brogueville) and we only get dial up:guilty:

It was amazing to grow up there, my Dad served 3 tours over there, each time a great experience. Maybe you can put a trip to Germany on the top of your bucket list.
College abroad sounds like a blast!!!!

PS-Your pictures kind of remind me of National Lampoon's European Vacation!

:eek:National lampoons European vacation, really? :lmao: Well my sister did pull some Clark Griswold moves, I had left her to go to the bathroom, (This was on the boat tour) when I came back she had everyone yell surprise and sing Happy Birthday to me, This was in April, my Birhtday is December. Other times on tour she has told the guide it's my birthday (when it wasn't) and the guide would make a huge announcement, totally embarrasing me. OMG! the stories I could tell you about Bo.

I have to be selective now with the pics, there's just too many, it's the only way I can finish it before my next trip. So if I already have pictures of it in my other album from my first trip then I didn't scrap it again. This time when I go it's not going to be so much about what I see and be more about the experience with my friends and Mom.

:eek:National lampoons European vacation, really? :lmao:.

I think it was the 80's pictures in Europe thing that reminded me of the movie. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the 80's. For my bachelorette party we went to the Awesome 80's Prom. It's sort of like a party/dance/ show set in a 1989 prom. IT WAS SO COOL!! :lmao: I'll have to see if my maid of honor has a picture of my in my 80's garb. Good times!!

Well, I tried to visit the site, my puter wouldn't let me, the page kept expiring. I am praying fo rthe day we can get high speed down here.

Crap, I forgot about that one tiny point. Even on my cable high speed it takes a few to load, so I can only imagine what it would be like on dial up.
