Debate: Vice President Hillary ?

I've read it, but thanks for the advice. I've seen that you are doing what you do on all threads when you disagree strongly with someone. You make comments about their personalities, their beliefs, anything at all to take the subject off the debate that is taking place.

You mean like referring to someone as "dense?"

I think you may be talking about your fellow dmadman.

I have no problem handing that attitude back to someone who so readily dispenses it. Perhaps that's why you and I get along so well!

As far as it "bothering" me, I really don't mind. If that's the way they want to act far be it from me to tell them otherwise. None the less, it is amusing and it does make me wonder as to the causes of such actions.

You mean like referring to someone s "dense?"

I'm not sure that dmadman was correct in using "dense" in the context of this "debate". "Dense" would imply that you truly didn't understand that he was saying that geography is not the only factor, but is often an important factor in choosing a running mate.

I think that he may have been aiming for "obtuse", that is, that you did know exactly what he meant, but that you are choosing to deny that you knew what he meant because you would rather sit back and impugn his intelligence by saying "You really believe that geography is the ONLY factor to consider???"

Yea, yea, I meant obtuse. Thanks AFR,

And, for the record, the is nothing Three Circles could say to do to impugn my meager intelligence.

Well here's his post:

But I thought Kerry has gone on record as saying the Dems didn't need the South to win the election. Why would he pick Edwards if he felt that way?

That's the whole post, BTW. Sounds like he was indeed only considering geography in his argument that Kerry wouldn't select Edwards.

As far as word selection, I'm pretty certain that dmadman selected "dense" for a reason. As noted, he does seem to throw insults at other posters on a frequent basis. Must do something for him.

As it must for you, since the first insult hurled between the two of you was the following:

Wow. And you consider yourself an educated voter...

That wasn't meant to be an insult. Here's the post that led to my comment:

Is Kerry still campainging?

As dmadman says, I wasn't aware that I needed to mark sarcasm with an emoticon.

I am not religious, but I am willing to pray that kerry chooses her. . .

"Dear God. Pleasepleasepleaseplease let Kerry pick Clinton. It would make for such beautiful theater. Not only will Kerry be shown to be the fraud that he is, but Hillary could be exposed for the souless witch that she most assuredly is. I know you cannot be a democrat, because you are omniscient. Democrats are the polar opposite. I'm not so certain that you are a Republican, either, because you are consistant. You are probably a libertarian, because (once again) you are omniscient; much like I am (the libertarian part for sure, I'm not sure about the omniscient part, but but I'm close). So, you know that Bush is the best choice in this election, and you want to take care of the greatest nation on your earth. So, I pray to you, Please let it be Hillary. It will seal the deal for GWB. If you do, I'll go to church this Sunday, and actually pay attention. Amen."

Hope it works.:hyper:

I am horrified to think that people would vote for Kerry/Clinton simply because "it would be nice to have a woman in office," yet from what I've been hearing, there are people out there who will actually base their votes this way.

Very scary...

You don't think people who would vote for either of them are rational, now...do you?

Excuse me....no one is denying or disavowing anything except the incredibly ludicrous statement you made somehow trying to paint Kerry as a Communist Marxist Leninist because he quoted one line from a different poem

I agree! One can paint Kerry as a "Communist Marxist Leninist" by examining his voting record. No need to go to poetry to make the case!

First the OP then OT.
Hillary as Vice President? FWIW I think it's a go. Heck, I'd announce it on July 4th. Why not try to turn a patriotic moment to your advantage? Oh well, I guess Tuesday is soon enough. As for what it means to the election? I guess this will probably bring down quite a few of the fence sitters. The big question is which side do they come down on? I guess the betting window may soon be open.

I could be wrong but I would guess that Richyams is Richiebaseball. They both use the same brilliant tag line.

Wow, I don't even have to be involved in a thread and you bring me up. I must have left quite an impression on you. I'm flattered but really, it has to stop. I'm just hoping the stalking isn't the next phase.
Richyams, huh? Well, I must admit I didn't really read many of his posts. They all seemed to start the same way. "If you believe in God, you're an idiot." That was enough for me to pretty much ignore anything else he said. Now don't get me wrong. I know there are people that don't believe, and that's okay. But I certainly don't think people are stupid just because of that. That's just not nice. Hopefully that alone can clear up any misconception you have. But just to be clear..............................

I believe in God.

There, I don't think Richyams would allow himself to say that.

As for the tag line, I'm glad you like it. I honestly don't remember seeing it used as a signature before. I'm not saying it never was, I just don't recall seeing it. Perhaps you would be so kind as to find a thread or three for me with Richyams using it. Sort of satisfy my curiosity if you will. I only use it because I certainly realize any thing I say is just that, only one man's opinion. And it should be treated as such and given neither more nor less weight than someone else's opinion. After all, just like an ******, everyone has one. So if it's all the same to you, I'll keep using it. I hope this means we can still be friends.

Nah. Richiebaseball is much more eloquent and insightful.

Thanks! I think. But now that I think about it that seems a little like saying "Hey, you have more personality than Al Gore".
Well, duh.

As always, just one man's opinion.

Thanks for explaining Rich. Appreciate it! And, I have to admit, it does make sense.

With so many people using multiple nicks it is hard at times to keep them all straight for the record. If I was incorrect in making a connection between you and someone else, well, so be it! :D

At any rate, the stalking would be much less difficult for me if you would just send me an e-mail or PM with your full name, address, social security number, home and work numbers, a recent photo with a clear image of your face, and a photocopy of your drivers license (both front and back) and a currently active credit card (again, both front and back with your signature clearly showing).

Wow. This is easier than I thought it would be. What cooperation!

I really, really, really wanted to just leave this alone but you just made that opening too damned big.

Sounds like you want my money. There's an even easier way you know. Just vote for Senator Kerry.

Just one man's opinion.

My son has studied Langston Hughes at length twice and is
only going into the third grade. I love his poetry. John Kerry
is anything but a Marxist/Leninist/Communist but some people
on this board ARE pretty reactionary and it's scary that they have
to resort to these wild, crazy posts to try to make their points.
Notice I did not say these people were wild or crazy-just their
posts. Saddling a person with one of their statements, poems,
posts and saying that is them-always and forever- would be
like saying one dumb/stupid post makes a person dumb and
stupid. If that were true, we'd all....well, you know. Me included.
I'm going to recommend everyone go to their corners. No points
are being scored-no elections won or lost. Everyone put this
energy into working for the person they are voting for in November and with this kind of energy-this election will be the
mother of all elections. I sense it will be anyway but we should
all plan our Disney vacations and put our political energies to
work for our candidate instead of banging our heads together here. Eh? Go out this weekend and get some people registered
to vote or volunteer at a booth or march in a parade. I'm going
to do all of those things and I'm looking so forward to it.
Let the games begin!

I don't think there's much doubt that Langston Hughes had Marxist leanings, but that doesn't mean that everyone that enjoys his poetry or quotes from it has the same leanings, or at least, not to the same extent. There's little doubt that Senator Kerry has socialist leanings, but to imply that is a Marxist is a little out there, IMO.

On a related note, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson has withdrawn from Senator Kerry's VP search.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...ap_on_el_pr/richardson_kerry&cid=694&ncid=716

WASHINGTON - New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, one of the country's top Hispanic Democrats, on Thursday told John Kerry (news - web sites) he no longer wants to be considered as a possible running mate.

Richardson said he wants to keep a promise to the people of New Mexico to serve a full, four-year term and noted that Kerry has "numerous experienced and talented leaders" from which to choose a vice presidential candidate.

"It is with that knowledge and comfort that I must tell you that I respectfully remove myself from the selection process and withdraw my name from consideration for the vice presidential nomination," Richardson said.

You're right -- just as saying Ashcroft is a stormtrooper would be out there. He's kind of far to the right, but...

Most of our politicians are mainstream. They may lean to the right or to the left, but they're not extremists.

Some of the people on this board, on the other hand...
