Dear Santa, I'd like a Disney Trip for Christmas! - TR started!

Hi Stephanie!

I hopped over to your PTR from mine... :lovestruc I've just spent the last 2 days (intermittantly) reading your PTR.

I should have multiquoted everything I wanted to say - but I didn't - so now I'll have to force myself to remember. :rotfl2:

First of all - I have to say that I am so happy for you that your trip isn't in danger. :wizard: What a relief to have it paid for.

Second - this will be my first stay at POFQ too, and I am super excited about it! It just looks so gorgeous and quaint. My girls will probably be bored to death - but we can always walk over to POR and enjoy their pool, because it looks to be a bit more teen friendly. That is so awesome that you are getting to stay here for only $100 more - such a no brainer - I would have done the exact same thing. I know I checked into doing a value, and it would have saved us a few hundered - but in the end - I couldn't risk having the long walk and heavy crowds after a long day in the parks. I am hoping that a smaller resort will be a bit more foot and sleep friendly.

I've never been to WDW at Christmas - I've always wanted to - but to be honest, we LOVE Halloween there. If you ever get a chance to go for Halloween and do MNSSHP - it's amazing! Maybe one of our next trips we will go for Christmas, or better yet, overlap Halloween and Christmas... That would be awesome! :thumbsup2 I will have to research that.

All of your ADRs sound awesome. I've never done HDDR - another one that I've always wanted to do, but it won't be happening on this trip. We've done CP... is your ADR for before park opening? Because that is just the best - you can get some super awesome Photopass pictures at that time of the day. Don't forget to ask for the magic shots. I am trying to remember the rest of your ADRs off the top of my head, and I can't... Grrr - I should have quoted.

OH - and I love your mini-planner idea! :lovestruc I might have to use it, and so economical too! I've always done a planner (3 hole binder) but it's such a pain to haul around the parks, it's so huge and heavy. I was always trying to figure out a way to make it smaller - sometimes I neglect to see the obvious. LOL :rolleyes1 I also do a lot with Photoshop - I love that program! DH bought it for me a few years ago - and it was a very worthwhile purchase. I learned a lot from the DISigners (they are an awesome group of people), and I've managed to create everything I've wanted to make. If I get the planner made - I will be sure to post it in my PTR, and link back to yours. :thumbsup2

Sorry for such a long post... I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip, I am so excited for you! And you'll have to reassure me that POFQ is just as awesome as everyone says it is, although I have little doubt. :lovestruc

Ohh, I am so excited to stay at POFQ! This is where I reeeallly wanted to stay but thought there was no way to afford anything other than a value! yay for free dining, right? :lovestruc I think it looks like such a beautiful resort and so peaceful even.

Funny you should mention doing Halloween, I've been telling everyone the next time I'm going to go is for MNSSHP! :rotfl: I think it looks SOOO wonderful! And I think Halloween would just be so fun! The main reason we're going at Christmas (I think I mentioned this in my PTR, not sure though) is because of DBF's college schedule. But it works out because Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year.....but Halloween at Disney is my next trip idea... :goodvibes :rolleyes1

I am so so so so SO excited about HDDR! Even DBF is excited for all the food! When I made the res. over the phone they said I had to pick something up or...I forget exactly what they said! I'm going to call, because I'm worried about picking so much stuff up the day we arrive! HDDR we're doing our arrival night and then I have to pick up our MVMCP tickets which we're doing the NEXT night! So much stuff to get! :headache:

And I would LOVE to get photoshop! And thanks for the mini-planner compliments! :) It's such a nice little size! I highly recommend trying it out! Fitting everything onto such small pages is a little frustrating when you want to put tons of info on...:rotfl: but the size for in the parks just seems unbeatable. My cover for my mini-planner I got from one of the DISigners, actually! They're all so talented! :goodvibes

A long post calls for an equally long reply! NEVER apologize for long posts! Love them! :rotfl:

Well, I'm glad your trip is working out. I put away money big chunks at a time for our 10th anniversary trip this summer but kind of stopped when DH got an internship and we couldn't go. Well, when free dining popped up again we decided to book. We very rarely plan far out. I think this might be our farthest. I've eaten at Tony's and some things are really neat about it, but the food is just so-so. We have done Crystal Palace three times and enjoy it very much. This will be our first trip not doing it; we are doing a Chef Mickeys instead. We are considering Hoop Dee Doo Review, too. I guess I should get on that! We always wanted to do Christmas, but my DH's times do not work, except for Christmas week. :(

Oh, Christmas week is when we were going to go because of DBF's college schedule, but I got too nervous about crowds and switched our dates! And I'm so glad I did too because now we get to go to MVMCP! :goodvibes :santa:

This is a short and simple post basically to show you the LGMH I'm going to be toting around the World! :goodvibes If you spot this little beauty below, it's MEEE! So say hi!

If you're going to be at WDW when I am, feel free to let me know! :thumbsup2

HAPPY OCTOBER EVERYONE!

I absolutely LOVE October! (Well...and November and December...)
I'd like to start off this post with my FAVORITE halloween movie! :goodvibes Staring none other than :donald: the wonderful Donald! :lovestruc If you'd like to watch it just click the youtube link! If you've never seen it I bet you'll love it as much as I do!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skdVouumMk4

And the lyrics....

Trick or Treat
Trick or Treat
Trick or Treat for Halloween
Better give a treat that's good to eat
If you want to keep life serene

Trick or Treat (Trick or Treat)
Trick or Treat (Trick or Treat)
Trick or Treat the whole night through
Little scalawags
With fiendish gags
Can make it tough on you

So when ghosts and goblins by the score
Ring the bell on your front door
Better not be stingy or
Your nightmares will come true

Disney actually has all of my favorite halloween movies...with the exception of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! :goodvibes I love my peanuts films!

No I'm not big on halloween decorating. I prefer to decorate for fall but I couldnt resist this cute little candy bucket when I stumbled across it at my local Disney store last year for a whopping 99 cents!! Originally $10, then $5 or something...then 99 cents! WOOOO! :woohoo: It's so cute and I just cant resist a deal like that! (I would have got it anyone probably cuz its just so cute!)

Here's the inside/bottom of the bowl

Then there is the side detail!

Do you all love it as much as I do! :lovestruc Soooo cute! :goodvibes

Well thats all. A very short non-trip related update. The only new news on the trip is we have park hopper now! :thumbsup2 That will make it a much more laid back vacation and less obsessive planner mode! I feel like I'll be able to enjoy it more now. :)

Catching up!

SO glad the doubt is gone and you're going!! Doubt is the worst before a trip!
I love that little Donald cartoon, so adorable! The Disney candy bucket is to cute too. I'm not a Hallowe'en fan, much prefer Christmas, but it's still fun to be festive.

I'm glad to hear you got the park hopper! In my opinion, it makes things so much easier!

Oh I know! The doubt was totally ruining the whole trip for me. I wasnt excited or any of that good stuff....but that has all returned! :goodvibes I'm not really a halloween fan but working in a daycare its a fun time with the kids. I like to decorate for fall...but I LOVE Christmas! :santa: I prefer it over my own birthday! :rotfl:

Well today my Dad and I went to see the Lion King in 3D and I absolutely LOVED it! It is one of my top 3 favorite movies (lion king, snow white, little mermaid not in any particular order) But its so hard to choose a Disney favorite! My Dad said it was the best showing of the Lion King he's ever seen. This was my first movie I ever saw in theaters. (drive-in) We also saw Toy Story 3 in 3D when it was out but we didnt think it was very 3D at all...but the Lion King sure was! And it was awesome! Love that movie! I have to go buy it ASAP! :goodvibes

After we were done at the movies we headed over to Home Depot to get some mickey head paint cards! :thumbsup2 I plan on making myself a countdown calendar! :rotfl:

014-1.jpg

My lovely paint cards. They have such precious names too! princess:

016-1.jpg

I laid them out to see how much room I'd need and realized I have no glue....so this project will have to wait until another day. :sad2: I hate when that happens!

Disney related goals for this week:
Find a nice little journal for recording happenings while in Disney

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday! TTFN! :tigger:

Hi Steph, I'm here from my TR! :goodvibes:

We'll be at Disney around the same time (I'll be there from the 18th - 27th).

I have no idea if this has been answered but I want to warn you that the only time to get a picture with all 7 dwarfs is during the holiday party. DBF and I waited in line during MNSSHP to get ours. For us, the party started at 7 and we got in line at 6. By the time the party officially started and the dwarfs came out, the line was over 2 hours long. So moral of the story is get in line early to not waste any of your party time!

Also, take the suggestion of getting there early and taking middle of the day breaks VERY seriously during the holidays. The week before Christmas isn't as bad as the week between Christmas and New Years but it can get a little hectic in the afternoon. You can really get a lot accomplished just by showing up as soon as the park opens.

Hope that helps! Can't wait to read more :)

Just paid my trip off! We will at POFQ Dec. 17 - 21. I'll be the tall redhead with two twenty something sons!

I love paint chips anyway, and seeing rainbow coloured Mickeys is so much fun. Looks like it's going to be an awesome countdown!

Ohh thanks! That will definitely be my priority to get a photo with them!! :goodvibes So thank you for the tips! And we'll be at Disney at the same time! Yay for Disney at Christmastime! :woohoo: :santa:

Haha! I love having countdowns...they're always fun. (at any age right?!)
