Dean-II Cancun Question-Exchange Came Through Already!

My Interval International exchange for August 2004 came in already! I got a Royal Carribean exchange - unit #E818. Do you have any way of finding out if this is an oceanfront unit?

No need for a response - they are apparently all oceanfront - I found out I can see the pool and the ocean. I can't believe how fast the exchange came through!

When did you first make your request and what did you specify?

I didn't know you can get the info about the room you will get. Never had that happen to us. I think it is great to know when and where you will be staying this far out.

Not to get off the thread but I notice your name has a sort of derivation of Marilyn. Do you get confused prople all the time spelling and mispronouncing your name. My name is said the same as Marilyn but spelled differently. I cannot tell you how many business cards, checks, name tags, in fact everything is spelled like the movie star of note. I am curious if you have had the same exoperience.

Natt - I requested just a couple of weeks ago for the trade. I gave them a two week time period and requested either The Sands, the Carribean or the Islander. I am going August of 2004.

I'm glad things worked out. This appears to be an eight floor unit a ways away from teh ocean overlooking the pool with a glancing view of hte ocean over the ocean front buildings. Not a bad unit. Enjoy.

Nice to hear that your request came through....we're still waiting to hear about our request for the same 3 resorts this coming Christmas. Starting to get concerned that we waited too late to make the request.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether we'll get our request or not...

Go to TUG and look for direct exchanges. Also contact San Francisco Exchange and Donita's and see if they have anything. I can give you the info if you need it, just email me directly.

Dean seems to be the TS guru so I'll ask him, or for that matter anybody, can we exchange DVC points for vacations at other resorts without going through Disney?( I guess you have to make ressies for the other party through DVC MS) If this is possible, can you get better deals this way? Which websites do you use to look at possible exchanges? If this question sounds silly I am sorry but I really don't know.

You're welcome. TUG is likely your best best with the direct exchange option. Unfortunately those that haven't already deposited will likely wait until much later to do so.
