I know this is a weird question to ask but I have read about everyone getting free dining and such perks as free park hopping and of course using codes for rates. I have never done anything like this. I have always booked full packages including airfare online thru the disneyworld website and payed what they asked. My question is If I'm looking to go next next yr around sept 29, what things do I look for as far as specials?,When do I start looking for these things?Where can I search for these specials and such? Sorry for all the questions but this time around I want the best deal for me and my family. I already know we want to stay at All star movies and I would want to stay for 6 nights 7 days starting Sept 29th of 08.I want to stay around this time because we have only done July and I have heard the crowds are better in late Sept/Oct and of course we want to go to MNSSHP
Thanks in advance for all your responses.

If you want free dining you'll need to move your date forward. If you don't have a Disney Visa, I'd recommend getting one so you can take advantage getting the free dining discount, if they have one next year. Free ticket upgrades happen from time to time.

Go to:

Sign up for the newsletter there. Also,

www.allearsnet.com

newsletter too, if you don't already get it. This way you'll be informed of every discount as soon as they come out.

And keep coming back to the DIS boards! :goodvibes

The Resorts board has a sub-board at the top of the page titled "Codes and Rates". If you visit that board at least once a week, you will have a pretty good idea of promotions that might be coming up. And I suggest if there is a lot of discussion about the possibility of an upcoming promotion hang around the Codes and Rates board A LOT, because as soon as an announcement is made it will be posted there.

While planning my October 2007 trip I discovered Disboards. That is how I found out about free dining!! I booked it in April through AAA. I do not have a Disney Visa...my girlfriend who does never had even heard of free dining. As soon as we heard about it , we just bumped our trip up to catch the tail end of free dining. If you book your trip to arrive the last day of free dining you get it your entire stay. We also now get to go to MNSSHP!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!!

The reason I picked those dates is so that we would be able to attend MNSSHP two times during our stay and I would be able to get the value rates. I just looked on mouse savers and it looks like the jokes on me Disney changed there resort booking policy so now even if a book those dates I will get the value rates for two of my days and then it goes up to regular season rates it matters not when you book now. I'm thinking that rule will carry over to the dining plan offer too. I will watch the boards to see what is offered around my time and If I need to I will change the dates again. Thanks for all the advice. Its so long away anyways but it helps to get info early in the game
