DDP and Salads?

I see that Salads are listed in their own category under the some of the Counter Service menus on the Allears site, while at other locations salads are included under the "entrees" heading. Does the DDP allow me to order a salad instead of a sandwich type entree at all Counter Services, or just some of them? I'm trying to "map out" our CS choiced for our stay and this is a critical piece of information in getting that done. THANK YOU!

I bet someone can find exceptions to just about everything, but generally salads with a major source of protein in them would be treated as entrees.

However, I'd worry about treating anything we read here, except the words of the Dining Plan brochure itself, as a "critical piece of information". Please understand that we cannot rely 100% on anything, specific, not even individuals' personal experiences, since any guest may encounter something different from any other guest.

all that being said, yes, most of the time at most of the CS restaurants, you can get a large salad (i.e. chef salad, grilled chicken ceasar) as your main entree but in some places it does not come w/a side (i.e. you can't get a chef salad and a side of cheese fries, although to me that would be the PERFECT meal! ;) ) and in some places it does... although i don't know the rhyme/reason behind it...

I got several salads at CS places using the DDP in Oct. Cosmic Rays, Sunshine Seasons, and Flame Tree BBQ. I don't believe I got a "side" at any of these places-just the salad, drink and dessert. :)

Me, too. I get tired of fast food type food and ate salads at almost every CS meal. It was always included - minus a side.

Thanks for the help. I wouldn't expect or want a side with it - just a nice salad with some chicken on top! Are there generally choices of dressings, including low sugar or low fat options, or do they come with just one type of dressing? I'm wondering if I need to bring my own.

Generally fewer choices at CS than at TS. I was unsuccessful finding low-sugar dressing when I was on Atkins in 1998, but do remember low-fat options at at least one CS eatery since that's been my dietary preference.

Thanks. I've been low-carbing for quite a few years now, and although I am at goal weight, I want to keep it that way while at Disney, and I also want to avoid feeling sick from unnecessary sugars while at the parks. I guess I'll bring my own dressing just to be on the safe side.
