DDE blackout dates?

According to the DDE info on the Passholders website (www.disneyworld.com/passholder) these are the blackout dates:

"Blackout dates for the Disney Dining Experience are Mothers Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day."

But, be aware, we have gone on other holidays just to be turned down - Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, even, since the card was opened to all AP holders. We don't eat at TS restaurants on just about any holiday because of that, unless there's a good reason.

You should report that to Rosa Flores in the DDE office. Either the info on the web site is wrong and should be corrected or the DDE office needs to make sure participating restaurants know the correct list of blackout dates.

We were also refused the entire week between Christmas and New Years, not just Christmas Day and New Years Eve, New Years Day as the orginial agreement was. Needless to say, I was very upset, and even went to Member Services only to be told the entire week was blacked out. I will NOT renew when it runs out! Very dissapointed with the purchase overall!

I used mine without any issues the day after Christmas. Sounds like some CMs don't have all the information straight. Before the DDE was opened to all passholders, they used to be much more lenient about the blackout dates. Oh well.

The manager let us know that it's up to the discretion of the restaurant whether they accept it on any holidays, when they refused last Labor Day.

I'll e-mail Rosa, though, and ask whether that is what should be going on.

And yes, back before they opened it up, we used it on nearly every holiday. I miss that.

We used our DDE card at Bistro de Paris with no problem just this week on Valentine's Day. They had a special menu for the holiday that my husband ordered and I ordered off the regular menu.

I'd raise hell on this is they are selling it and telling you that almost all the dates are good, then changing the rules. Even about this being at the descretion of the restaurant. You bought it with the understanding that it was good on almost all days. They need to stick to that or reimburse you for extra costs.

This has come up before--
I believe there are real "genuine" blackout dates listed, then a little snippet somewhere that restaurants themselves can decide to have other "holiday" days when they won't accept the card. And that you should "call the restaurant" to be sure--

Remember..disney has that little notation on the bottom of everything...times/dates/places...everything is subject to change without notice or warning. Meaning disney can do whatever they want without consideration of the customer.
