Mornin', Gents! Yesterday was bit crazy here at my house. I got shifted around work wise and had to leave earlier than planned, so that meant I had to scramble to get lunch made, breakfast and what not before leaving. My DW also had oral surgery yesterday to fix a problem she's had since childhood, well, the first part anyways. The rest will happen in a few weeks after the swelling and healing. I'm still waiting for the offer from work to bring me on full time, so appreciate some good vibes towards that. Outside that? Got nothing else. Have a good day.

Hello gents, I fell woefully behind once again.
That’s what happens when you have a bat shirt crazy couple weeks at work.
I hope all is well with everyone.

I spent this past weekend off the grid at my friend’s cabin. Very remote. I’ve mentioned it before but as a reminder: 15 minute drive up a woods road, 15 minutes ride on quad up a dirt path, then 20 minutes up the lake on boat. No electricity, internet,TV, only a satellite phone for emergency. Peaceful weekend. Weather was only so-so with cloud and middling temperatures, but no rain and not so cold we needed the wood stove for heat, but not so warm we perished without AC. Overall enjoyable and relaxing, with a drink or two of rum to help us forget about the real world.

Welcome back! And that sounds like a great time you had. Unplugged from everything. Nice.

Morning fellows, from another glorious day in the mother country, and only 3 more work hours til hump day. I hardwired the bottom of my garden for the interwebby, as wi fi is a bit of a stretch, so we now have a fully functioning outdoor office, which I am currently sitting at. Looks like the Chicago trip is looking dicier by the day, although there is a big push to get this UK/US travel corridor back open. Lets see, it was always a swing for the fence at the bottom of the 9th.

I hope things work out for the best and you can make this trip, my friend.

Morning all from the land of Murphy - you know - where what will go wrong is going wrong. Painting, linoleum, plumbing, & carpet all in 1 week. I'm ready to write my first book titled, "What not to do in your first year of retirement". And to make it worse, I'm sick with either a cold or sinus infection.

On the job front, I'm able to write my own schedule thus far. Our 2 other PRN staff quit, so it's just me. Still undecided about the 10 hour shifts. Getting there at 7AM gives me the time to review all the charts and figure out a plan for the day without as much interruption. Staying to 5:30 makes for a long day. But, I've had days off the following days. I'll be covering vacations the end of July, and working 4 days each week, which may help me get a better feel for the shift.

Hope all had / are having a good weekend. 4 weeks til DaWorld. Bacon, Bourbon, Cigars and Mickey Bars.

Mornin', gents! Hope all are well on this the day that is called Monday. Had a good weekend this past weekend, well, for the most part. My DD's spring dance recital was held Saturday morning, which went really well. Because of the whole quarantine, even though things have opened up a bit, was held outside. In clear blue skies. With a very bright sun. Hot, sun. Did I mention hot? I, along with my DW and DMiL put on plenty of sun block, but I, for some stupid reason, forgot my face and forehead. Wow, am I read...and hurt. I would have worn a hat, but we were running behind when we left and I forgot to grab on on the way out. So I have now decided to keep a hat in my car for whenever I needed one. Live and learn, right? Or, as Londontime put it, "Well, we live." Off to get ready for work, gents. Have a good day.

The big event for us was picking up my daughter and moving her back home for the summer. Can't believe she's finished one year of college already.



It was nice not having to deal with crowds for the most part. With the demand for travel this summer, those days are long behind us, I'm afraid.



Every Monday gets us closer to the next Friday.

Congrats on year 1 in the books. She have any plans this summer? Working?

I finally had my first shot last week ( Pfizer if anyone is curious).
I barely felt it go in and then it was all over #TWSS



I heard that. Heat hasn’t hit here yet. Reasonably pleasant today but supposed to get up to 26C/79F tomorrow which should be nice for my last day off before going back to work.

I guess I hadn't heard about or forgot about that cabin. It sounds terrific. Now, I would like electricity, but I would love the seclusion. I think I shared there's a chance I could pick up my grandfather's 3 acre land? It's got a small 1 BR 1 BA 100 year old house on there. It would be a great isolated place to relax.

The first five days after a weekend are the hardest...

I don't have those anymore. Now, only by my choosing. It's terrific. Well, until DW wants to buy a new house ...

Huh. I enjoyed the show quite a bit. I liked WandaVision a lot more than Falcon & Winter Soldier, personally.

I really liked Winter Soldier & the Falcon. I couldn't make it thru the 2nd episode of Wanda Vision. The only issue with that storyline is that once you create a supersoldier, you have to create someone strong enough or an army to fight them.

Just wait til next year! Or, the next... or... 40 years from now...

I don't have a plan for 40 years from now.

Hey guys how's it been? I see the pizza is still on the ceiling and no one has taken out the recycling. I've been gone for 200 pages what have you guys been doing (and no I'm not going back to catch up on everything I missed) And the Rum is gone again? Norm, I blame that directly on you.

Been crazy busy around my house, remodel is still ongoing on the new house. I finished knocking out the walls that are going away now just trying to get them put back in the right places.
Finally getting my promotion at work, well I already have the work for the new job, just waiting on the job title and pay that goes with it.

And made my final payment on our August trip. Just me DW and youngest. We couldn't pull together the trip for oldest 21st b'day so she could drink around the world.
We will be there 8/7 - 8/13 at AoA if anyone else is gonna be around.

Just got to the point where I had enough and basically said what I was thinking about a rather unstoppable project/subject and said it to my superior...

The resulting conversation just about lead me toward walking out if they weren't gonn'a through me out. 'Rest of the day was rather bleak from my point of view, but things were calmer today.

Problem is, I ain't so sure that's the all-around best outcome.

Morning, Gents! So the managers have decided that since we're getting a lot of "No Shows" in the various offices amongst the practices, they'd come up with a plan to help change this. Now, I'm sure you can guess you can where this is going. They decided that having some people get trained in calling people to remind them of their appointments is a good thing. Ok, fine, if that's how you want me to spend my time I'll do it. I mean, I am getting paid and it's an easy job, so.... Yesterday was the easiest day I've had so far.

Now you're making me feel bad for not getting stuff done around my house. And yeah, I'm tired of my car having that yellow-ish/green color to it. Blah!
