Morning, Gents! Been kind of MIA the last few days again, but as I get closer to the end of the month I spending more time online looking for work instead of playing. I've also been spending a lot of time looking at videos on YouTube of resume building, interviewing and what not...so lots of constructive YouTubing. I had a pretty good weekend. A very close college friend came to visit, she's basically my sister from another family, so that was fun. Went out on Saturday to look for shoes, FINALLY!, and it was just me and her. I spent the entire drive to the shoe store complaining about not being able to find work. She listened and then offered up support, which is exactly what I needed. My wife's heard it all and I feel bad for constantly complaining to her. Ok, enough of me complaining about work. I took yesterday as a half-day to drive down to Cape to apply in person at a rehabilitation/nursing home combo. Applying in person is a dying art, but something that was encouraged in the ad, so I took it. Besides, they see your resume directly rather than an applicant tracking system, so better chance of getting contacted...well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Should I sacrifice a virgin cockroach to help me? Of course, that begs the question: How can you tell if a cockroach is a virgin? Ok, I digress... Unfortunately the guy who I was to talk to wasn't there, but the receptionist did say that he'd be in contact about an interview. I hope she's telling the truth, so maybe they are really looking at everyone. The position I applied for is for a medical records position, which would be great to get into. A lot of medical coders will get their start in records, so I'm hoping to get that chance as well. I don't have experience, but I do mention that I am changing careers, and I have mentioned my medical coding course, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology course on my resume and cover letter, so I'm hoping that'll get me some extra points....I need all the brownie points I can get. Would dancing help?

I do a mean dad dance.

Have a good day, Gents!

Yeah it does, but I'm working on getting something. "Now where's that number to the Chipendales?"
Yea that tugs at the heart strings - hang in there
Thanks, man, appreciate it.
Ouch. Prayers for a resolution to your struggle.
Thanks, man, appreciate it.
Ouch, mate that's tough. All the best. Hopefully something will come up soon.
Thanks, man, appreciate it.
That's tough. I've worked out of town and missed the occasional event, disappointing my girls. That was always the worst. I know I can't time travel, but hope that my sacrifices set them up for success.
It is the worst, but sometimes necessary.
