Morning Guys.

Nice quiet morning here and that is just what the doctor ordered. It's been a busy week and yesterday was the culmination of that. Started the day with a board meeting that lasted until the middle of the afternoon; it was a productive one so that was good. Finished the day attending two of the Mike Fitz Memorial Basketball games.

For those who may be interested, Mike Fitzgerald was a student and an athlete that had attended both of the high schools in Fredericton. At the age of 16 he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and passed away shortly after that. He was a member of the Leo Hayes basketball team when it happened. Leo Hayes is the school that Declan attends. I'm a little hazy on if he was still alive when the team decided to organize a game for him or not but this year was the 11th year for these games. Mike's parents have been very involved on organizing these games over the years and had decided that this was going to be the final year. Mike wore number 11 and the games were being played back where they started at Leo Hayes. The day consists of 4 games, JV girls, JV boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. They charge 5 dollars for the day to get in and sell a bit of swag. Over the 11 years they have been able to raise enough money to endow a scholarship fund that awards scholarships to each of the two schools.

Last night was extra special for us. It was the 4th year that Declan was getting to be a part of this event and knowing it was the last one made it bigger. It also may be the last time we see him play in that gym as their home games are finished and they will need a big win on Tuesday to get the opportunity to host Regionals. The game was amazing and while both teams fought hard over the 40 minutes our boys pulled out an 84-72 win in front of a packed house of 1200 screaming fans.

Icing on the cake for me was seeing them win this game in their last year and having Declan get the chance to hold the plaque that is awarded to the winning team. The topping for me though is that each school gives and award in Mike's name each year and Declan won this award in his grade 10 season.

Sorry for going on but as you can probably tell I am an extremely proud dad right now.

That’s great stuff mate. Massive congrats to Declan.

Happy weekend gents. I’ve returned home after a few days in Halifax. The meetings finished up early Thursday afternoon so I went exploring at bit with some coworkers. We walked up to the Halifax Citadel (national historic site) only to find it a construction zone. They are adding history I guess.

So we walked along the harbour front to the first brewery we saw Alexander Keith’s. Enjoyed a beverage there, then walked to the next one while we still could. Garrison brewery had a nice flight option which I enjoyed better just to have a taste of some different ones.

Too bad the tour wasn't available, it's a lot of fun. Have you done it before?

Hey gents. Had to put my foot down with Father in Law. We have him in emergency room now to get him admitted. Lots of things wrong and he just needs round the clock care home nurses have been great but not enough. Final straw was a fall last night and again this morning while I was there doing some stuff around their house. Found out fire department had been there a couple other times this week - ugh! So looks like we will have both him and MIL in hospital this week. Have a good weekend gents

Hope it all works out.

Good morning from a Sunny Westfield, NB. Worked overtime on Saturday. The last rain storm that went through washed a lot of road shoulders out, and I have been doing repairs to damaged areas. Two more sleeps and we will be in WDW. I'll be glad to leave the winter weather behind.

Looks like their is a lot of road work from the washouts to be done. You guys in the south part of the province will be kept busy for awhile.

Thanks guys for all the support and positive thoughts. Pops is better getting the round the clock but still lots that needs to be addressed. Not sure how he is gonna get back to being home but we will do all we can to make that happen. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday and thanks again for the good vibes.

Congrats to Declan! All good bragging here as that is a great story and memories from a proud Dad. Thanks for sharing with us.

Happy Sunday. Today was another miserable day, surrounded by sabotaging idiots. I'm staying home to hide tomorrow. Bad news - I finished off my Basil Hayden bourbon. Good news - I started Knob Creek bourbon.

No, it was our intention but they weren’t running the tour for some reason. So we just said screw it and did our own tour of breweries. Well...of two.

Good for you.

So you might ask if I was going to WDW in the next week, besides the million and one things to do what might I be missing:confused3, well funny you should ask since I will be there next weekend here are a few things you might not know:confused3, at least this is new to me since last trip in Dec.

So, let me ask if you are going to WDW next week and what yo will be doing? :lmao: Have a great trip.

Morning boys from a chilly and windy London. Not much on the agenda today. We had a full english breakfast
.

What is a full English breakfast? Or, is that behind closed doors talk code for you and Lady K.

That's difficult. I've worked tangentially on the nursing home side of things, and some of those can be scary. But, being at home is risky, and if there isn't a trustworthy caregiver, they can get hurt or ripped off. Continued prayers for you.

I haven’t done the tour before. Every other time I’ve been in Halifax the family were in tow, so not really the best time for a beer tour. I think I’ll get another business trip or two to Halifax this year so maybe I’ll do it then.

Morning Guys,

Beautiful morning here, too bad I'm in the office.

Hope you all have a great Monday.

The tour is pretty cool. They do it as characters from the period of the original Keith's brewery. You don't get as many beverages as you would on some brewery tours but it is a fun tour.

Morning fellas.

Looks like a pattern emerging, beautiful weather but cold. I think the work thing is going to come to head next week, so let's see how it goes.

What is a full English breakfast? Or, is that behind closed doors talk code for you and Lady K.
Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Mushroom and Tomatoes. It generally also has toast, but we are low carb right now. Nothing to do with Cheeky bunk-ups.
Today was another miserable day, surrounded by sabotaging idiots
You seem to be having a few of them mate, everything OK over there?
Bad news - I finished off my Basil Hayden bourbon. Good news - I started Knob Creek bourbon.
Both fine choices.
Pops is better getting the round the clock but still lots that needs to be addressed.
All the best Buddy.

Happy Friday Eve/Eve/Eve/Eve.

Happy Sunday. Today was another miserable day, surrounded by sabotaging idiots. I'm staying home to hide tomorrow. Bad news - I finished off my Basil Hayden bourbon. Good news - I started Knob Creek bourbon.

Had some of the Knob Creek Disney Select while I was at DDCC, very good stuff!
