DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I usually chase Rum with Rum.:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1
.

:scratchin I am not alone:lmao:. While at WDW since I usually don't have to drive, by the time I get on a bus in the A.M. to make it to rope drop 3 or 4 rum and cokes by 8am is not unheard off:thumbsup2 ( I worked over nights for 8 years the morning was my night:scared1:). Gonna be some good drinking at Epcot:drinking1

In order.
Shulas
Yachtsman Steakhouse
California Grill
Le Cellier
Turf Club

I find that fascinating. When I first started researching Disney on the DIS years ago, there was nothing that could touch Le Cellier. And getting an ADR there was not easy.

Morning boys. Kids had athletics this morning so up and at them early. Pretty nippy this morning over our side of the pond. A bit of pre-meeting research for me today.

I find that fascinating. When I first started researching Disney on the DIS years ago, there was nothing that could touch Le Cellier. And getting an ADR there was not easy.
I don't even think it was that long ago bud. I joined here about 2 years ago and everyone was banging on about it then. We looked at it but the restaurant looked a bit dingy. I'm sure it's very nice.
1- Shula's
2- Teppon Edo
3- Turf Club
I've done turf club, as we were staying at Saratoga our second year, I really enjoyed it.
I keep trying to get Lady K to go to Shula's. She hates the look of the Swolphin. Maybe this year.
You know something, I had to think about it, but I only remember having steak at Disney once. Because $$$.
It was at Mama Melrose in DHS. Wasn’t too bad, but I have no doubt there are far better steaks around.
I know what you mean. I'm a bit like that with Burgers. I really like the one in Kona (plus it's in the resort), but everywhere else, $18 for a burger? Jog on, son.
::yes:::furious: It's worse when you expect better from people.
::yes:: Is it a power play? What's the up for them for the sabotage?

::yes:: Is it a red wine with steak? No, bourbon.
Whiskey Sour before, Red wine with, Bourbon after. If you come to London I'll bring you to my go to steakhouse.

Have a great day chaps.

16 days is an awesome #. Never made it over 9 on vacation.
I used to do 16-18 days, when I had more time and more money, before I started this 8-5 daily grind. It's a great break from the real world.
First 7 or 8 days we would rent a house, relax (and drink) by the private pool, then 10 days at Disney. Probably would work better the other way around, need a break after the parks. But it was nice either way. I cut my August trip down to 10 days due to vacation time from work and cost cutting.

I absolutely loved Le Cellier. Thought it was the best restaurant at WDW. Then they changed it to a "Signature" restaurant, screwed up the menu, and it hasn't been the same since.

Yachtsman was really good the one time I went there. And I really liked the prime rib at Turf Club.

Morning Guys.

Seems like the entire world is cold today.

Couple meetings today and a basketball game tonight, not much else.

I don't think we have been to Le Cellier since they changed it a signature restaurant. When we used the dining plan I was too cheap to use to credits on it.

Top O the Mornin Dads! MIL is in surgery and Pops got the obvious news that once they fix his medical issues he has to go to a rehab center before he can go back home. No strength, can't get in and out of bed or walk to bathroom and of course he is arguing with everyone that he can go home. Tough times for everyone but we will get through it. Everyone try to stay warm and be safe - dang Canadians left all the doors open this time.
Afternoon everyone from a sunny but cool Westfield NB. I'm now on vacation for the next 16days.:dancer:We head to the airport in 11hrs. :)
Have a great trip!
Never tried it with mustard but everything else sounds very good.
I'm with ya, not a fan of steak sauces I don't like ruining a good steak flavor.
I think the only places I've had a steak at WDW is Le Cellier and Rose N Crown.
In addition to others listed Boathouse is really good too
I'm a slow, mystery reveal that's worth the wait./QUOTE]
Apparently so. Imagine that a bunch of Dads that hang out around here having several things in common :rotfl:

HAve a few for the rest of us while you're there and post some picks of the drinks

Agree, that it is not the same been removed from our steak dinner list while at DaWorld.

Hope all goes well.

I think all that cold air is moving up from you guys, we've shut the door to keep it all down there.

Morning from a dark and cold(-22) Westfield NB, Heading for the airport in 15 min. We'll be in WDW in 8 hrs. :cool1::cool1:

Have a great trip!

A bit of pre-meeting research for me today.

What is that?

I don't even think it was that long ago bud. I joined here about 2 years ago and everyone was banging on about it then. We looked at it but the restaurant looked a bit dingy. I'm sure it's very nice.

Not dingy. Comfy.

Man... 16-18 days sounds nice.

Have fun storming the castle!

I don't think we have been to Le Cellier since they changed it a signature restaurant. When we used the dining plan I was too cheap to use to credits on it.

Same here. I would never use up 2 credits on one meal.

Eventually, we got too cheap to pay for the dining plan. Starting splitting entrees instead.

MIL is in surgery and Pops got the obvious news that once they fix his medical issues he has to go to a rehab center before he can go back home. No strength, can't get in and out of bed or walk to bathroom and of course he is arguing with everyone that he can go home. Tough times for everyone but we will get through it.

Ugh. No fun when they're not being good patients. Hang in there.

Nice hat!

I think your mustache is frozen. Careful you don't break it off.

Now if only you were going somewhere in about 9 hours that had steak restaurants everywhere......

Safe travels mate

So while Zmack’s getting ready chaps...
Top 3 Disney steak restaurants you’ve been to?

I don't know the first two are just steak places, but...

Cali Grill (steak on brunch menu)
Tiffins
Turf club

Haven't done Shula's or Le Cellier simply because I can't justify that much money as much as I love a good steak. I had a hard time justifying the expense at Cali grill, but if I do it again, I will focus mostly on the steak and not have as much of the other stuff that filled me up too much.
