DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
When you're good, you're good.
But when you're bad, you're better.
Morning folks. One more hour to go then it's time to head home and to bed. I plan on sleeping through most of my Saturday before taking youngest DD shoe shopping. The joys of parenting, no?
Shoe shops on a Saturday. I believe that's Dante's 6th circle of hell.
Good luck mate, hope you make it through.

Good job, Dan. Looks like everyone took your advice and checked out...
That's how we like it Chief. Obedience is key to order.

Had a nice just the guys dinner last night with DS and tonight taking him and DW out to dinner.
When is he gonna start taking you out? ;)
Saw it on the other place mate, looks like you were having a blast.

we need to discuss as a family what next steps for Poppa is.
Thats a tough conversation to have mate, we are going through the same thing with my Aunt, she is in advanced stages of dementia. Her and my Uncle made a pact of "no care homes", but he just can't cope and everyone is busting to help them out, but sometimes the inevitability comes that people need professional help. All the best next week.

Morning boys from a grey London. Good news on the achilles front, I got effectively discharged last night from the Physio, so am clear to pretty much do what I like.
I played a singles match with one of the tennis coaches last night, he's 22, so it was a great workout. I lost 6-4, but didn't play too shabby. It was more conditioning than skill that let me down.
We started the boy on his journey through MCU last night, I looked up on the interwebby what the best order of watching to keep the story arc flowing, so we are gonna start to work our way through them all.

Have a great Saturday chaps.

Happy weekend gents. I’ve returned home after a few days in Halifax. The meetings finished up early Thursday afternoon so I went exploring at bit with some coworkers. We walked up to the Halifax Citadel (national historic site) only to find it a construction zone. They are adding history I guess.

So we walked along the harbour front to the first brewery we saw Alexander Keith’s. Enjoyed a beverage there, then walked to the next one while we still could. Garrison brewery had a nice flight option which I enjoyed better just to have a taste of some different ones.

Hey gents. Had to put my foot down with Father in Law. We have him in emergency room now to get him admitted. Lots of things wrong and he just needs round the clock care home nurses have been great but not enough. Final straw was a fall last night and again this morning while I was there doing some stuff around their house. Found out fire department had been there a couple other times this week - ugh! So looks like we will have both him and MIL in hospital this week. Have a good weekend gents

Happy Saturday, where stupidity knows no bounds. I'd probably post all about it. Instead, I juat came home and got drunk and turned on the Dark Knight. Life is way better.

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one standing in Top of the World after cocktails and fireworks gets to take Mulan home. And, let me tell ya, You're a Dragon, not a lizard. Then you don't have to do that tongue thing.

Have a great weekend chaps.
London out.

I like TOTWL, Mulan, & dragons. Tongue thing? :scared1::eek::scared1:

Shoe shopping? That's worse than that tongue thing. :lmao:

.

Good news on the Achilles. It's always conditioning now 007 as you're too old. One day, we'll settle this on the tennis court. I'll cheat to win.

Brewery pictures are better when served with beer. Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear all that. I know I’ll be facing that soon, myself.

Sorry to hear of your family’s troubles. I haven’t had to face those issues yet but I guess it’s inevitable to some extent.

Did you do the tour?
No, it was our intention but they weren’t running the tour for some reason. So we just said screw it and did our own tour of breweries. Well...of two.

So you might ask if I was going to WDW in the next week, besides the million and one things to do what might I be missing:confused3, well funny you should ask since I will be there next weekend here are a few things you might not know:confused3, at least this is new to me since last trip in Dec.

MK - at town square next to Tony's you can meet Mickey and Minnie together (one of only 2 spots in all of WDW parks you can meet both) here they are dressed for Mickey's 90thparty:

Epcot- Festival of the Arts , tons of pic opportunities, plus ton of food booths, seems like the one my family is interested in is Taste Track for Lobster Crab Mac & Cheese Cone, the Churros that look like paintbrushes, and the AP Figment cookie:thumbsup2

HS- Mike & Sully M&G inside 1 Mans Dream & The Incredibles at the old Pixar place where you use to get into TSM, The Edna Mode would be the M&G to go to.

AK- Lion King 25th photo ops. 1st one is between bag check and entrance most likely to the far right, if you go past ticket booth you went to far from what I can see, also a nice Lion King photo op looks like its on the right side of Island Merltile:scratchin

Prayers going out. You are doing the right thing, I've seen this many times now with my friends parents, they might get yelled at but they don't want to see Mom or Dad get hurt.

Morning boys from a chilly and windy London. Not much on the agenda today. We had a full english breakfast, and the Lady K is looking forward to welcoming me back into the main room after 17 weeks of banishment to the front room to watch NFL. Which means I have to watch whatever nonsense she is following. For an incredibly intelligent woman, she watches some absolute tosh on the box.

Good news on the Achilles. It's always conditioning now 007 as you're too old.
Cheers mate. And yep, I think I am in that funny zone where I'm too young to play the vets, but the young'uns are just too darn fit. When we next meet in Disney we'll have to have a game.
the Churros that look like paintbrushes
They look really good, I saw them on one of the Disney vlogs. Enjoy the trip.

Sorry for your trouble Mike, its never nice but as you say probably for the best.

At least one of us has had a truly productive few days. Nice work mate. The juicy one looks like a nice drop of beer.
They are adding history I guess.
Or extending the gift shop.
Well that would get any guy's genie popping out.

Have a great Sunday chaps.

Good Sunday Morning Mike and Company! The talk of having to put an elderly love one in a care facility brought up memories of when we had to do that for my MIL. She lived in Phoenix AZ in her own house in an adult community. She was having trouble with her memory, forgetting things but nothing that was out of hand until she went missing. She had taken the car out for a drive one day and just didn't come home that night. They found her the next morning in the middle of the desert, where she had spent the night. She couldn't remember how she got there, what she said was she was driving to the mountains because they looked so pretty. When they took her to the hospital to check her out, they found she had gotten so upset during the night she suffered a small heart attack. She was didn't have any damage from it, but we used that reason to move her to a home with care. She never went back to her house. DW and her brother and sister closed down her house and it was sold, and we ended up moving her to a place near us in Maryland to live out her days.

After seeing what DW, BIL and SIL had to go through makes me pray that I recognize when it time for me to make that move and not put up a fight.

Good morning from a Sunny Westfield, NB. Worked overtime on Saturday. The last rain storm that went through washed a lot of road shoulders out, and I have been doing repairs to damaged areas. Two more sleeps and we will be in WDW. I'll be glad to leave the winter weather behind.
