Busy day today including buying a tree. It only is going to be up a couple of weeks so I wanted a 4-5'. The smallest at Home Depot was 6-7' Only $40, which for down here, is a steal. Gave the guy $5 to put it on the car. He said he couldn't take it in his hand but it would be OK if I put it in his pocket.

He just wanted your hand in his pocket.

Morning Men,

last day at work for the year for me. Off to a volleyball tournament tomorrow with DS and then spend some time with my parents before we return home to get our warm weather clothes and head south.

Hey guys! Back from an all-too-brief weekend getaway with the Mrs. down in our favorite place. It went way too quickly but we had a lot of fun. What did I miss?

Followed your FB pics. Will there be a trip report coming up or was this a little risqué for the boards. Sounded like a wonderful time.

Happy Wednesday. Had to drive to campus all week and saw signs for I-65South, the way we go to WDW. I've been day dreaming about making that right turn.....

I face a similar temptation every time I get on the Turnpike Extension. North to WDW, South to the Keys. I am sure if you asked, your wife, boss, etc. would be understanding and say go ahead. Well, maybe not the girls.

Glad to hear you survived the KGB er um IRS. That sounds like you have enough to fly me to wdw for the ddc convention.

Over the last couple of years, of the multiple battles with the aforementioned agency, this is the one and only time I won. If I was in front of them when I heard, I am sure I would receive a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct for taunting.

Nope. That remains ever-elusive. But we did have a little inheritance money to spend on some fun. So that was nice.

Pretty pumped to see SWFA tonight with DS. He had his last and only final yesterday so he will be monitoring the movie theater relative to when folks start getting in line. We have tickets for a 7:30 showing tonight but lines will form early to get good seats so he is prepared to be there by noon if need be then I will go straight from the office to meet up with him. Have tomorrow off for more viewings so nice 3 day weekend for me. Have a good one gents and May the Force be with You!

Nah, we were too busy burning the candle at both ends in the parks trying to see all of the Christmas stuff to do much of anything else. If I have time, I'll do a TR.

Not much planned today, maybe wrap presents. Have a couple of little things to buy yet. Tree has the lights on but won't be decorated until Christmas Eve. The kid is stuck on campus until Tuesday. She is finished with finals with one exception that is Tuesday. The Professor wouldn't move it so she is stuck there with only a few kids around. Otherwise she could have flown in last night. Especially sucks considering Seton Hall changed their academic calendar this year and already shortened winter break.

Happy Friday back at you. So far avoided all commercials, news stories, reviews... because I am not going to see it until next week or the following week when we go Disney. That AMC Dining Theater is nice. The only thing I heard about it is that it is really good.

Been trying to get tickets for a couple weeks for SWFA but cant get 4 tickets anywhere around that arn't for the late night showing. We have like 15 theaters near us and all are sold out. Will wait till after the 1st of the year and catch it when it slows down.

We bought our tickets a month ago when they first started selling them. Saw it last night.
Two words to describe the movie "absolute genius".
Didn't get home till after 1am, kinda dragging my butt today but we'll worth it.

Hope all are well and strong with the force. It may be a while before I get to see it but the reviews are coming in pretty strong.

Took today off so I could do a few season related tasks. Good idea in theory, but as usual, plans change. This morning DW notices that there is water leaking from somewhere under the bath room sink. turns out the trap has rotted through so now I get to spend the morning fixing that instead. I have a spare trap, but its the wrong size for the current plumbing and the rest of the system isn't in that good a shape either so I ended up replacing the entire waste system. Up side... all fixed and won't need replacing again for quite some time. Down side, I probably negated the last two weeks of therapy on my back getting it done. Don't see myself even starting on the original task list now.

I believe that what they gave the first one back in 77 as well (at the time of the release at least).

Bravo to you for fixing it on your own. I can change a leaking faucet washer/ spring and some other mild stuff. I probably would have just called and paid a plumber. Hope the back feels better.

As a fan of the franchise I left the theatre with a sense of relief. In my opinion JJ Abrams hit the nail on the head with this one. Not sure what the critics were looking for but all of my expectations were met. I guess you can nit pick anything but all I know is that all of us left the theatre smiling. On at least 3 separate occasions our theatre broke out in cheers. Im going out on a limb here I think they all liked it.

Happy Saturday! Woke to a a cool, windy morning and it feels great. Christmas it is expected to be 85, which is depressing in a way. Seas are 7-9 feet so no one will be diving today. Two presents left to wrap and one is supposed to be delivered the 24th.

The menu was finalized last night. We will be dining on my NY Strip (and her Tofurkey thing), twice backed potatoes, Sauted mushrooms, grilled asparagus, and baked apples for desert.

Enjoy the weekend.

Thanks Norm. The sad thing about it is she is just stuck up there waiting for the time to go by. The other kids probably love at most a couple of hours away so they can be with their families until Tuesday.

Club volleyball has thankfully come to an end. Probably the worst experience DS has ever had thanks to one JA coach. Hopefully he'll play again some time.
