Well, the kid took off this morning for the adventure in Indonesia. Thirty plus hours of traveling with stops in Dlallas and Tokyo until she lands in Jackarta. Not sure if I would want to be with her when she lands. Could be ugly.

Glad you're back. Hope you continue to feel better.

Thank You My Friend!

i was released yesterday and am now home. Let the Adventure begin!

Good to be home, I bet!
How's it feel?

An amazing adventure begins.

...It could be worse though, still employed and still on the green side of the sod. Family will be here a bit longer still as we haven't replaced the car I totaled last October. It won't be much a summer for them as SWMBO has the school year starting August 3rd and we need to get them up to NY to visit grandparents if at all possible as well. I think I liked our school year better growing up. We usually got out just after Father's Day and went back the Wednesday after Labor Day. Happy weekend to all.

Hope your weekend is going well. And being on the green side of the sod has it benefits.

A good day. Youngest survived the sleepover and didn't come home too sugared or tired. Went for a walk with DW this AM and schooled the family in four square today. Made chicken, rice, corn on the cob, and fried potatoes for dinner as that was all that leas left in the fridge. Watched Arsenal vs Aston Villa soccer earlier and now flipping between MLB and Hockey, although Game 7 will get more watch time once it starts...

Could not have been a great sleepover if she wasn't tired or sugared up. Dinner sounded good, I'm thinking fried chicken sometime soon. My afternoon is bouncing between the Harry Potter marathon and UF/Auburn softball game. Gators won it in extra innings.

That is good news. My best to Jodie and tell her I wish her luck putting up with your recovery.

I will keep my eye on the International News. :happytv:

An amazing adventure begins.

It should be an amazing adventure and she better take tons of pics. She is now flying across North America and will skirt Alaska and then on to Hong Kong (made a mistake, Tokyo is the return trip). Currently tracking the flights online.

Little scary, her going to Indonesia, they are not the most progressive country. She got an email yesterday which said a staff member mouthed off to immigration and was denied entry. So Randall, I will be watching international news for the next month.

Celebrating MILs birthday this weekend with a nice dinner at Bonefish Grill last night, family out for breakfast this morning and DW making dinner tonight - 'bout time she cooked :rotfl2:

Guessing you guys may be tired of hearing about the Hawks, but this is a special team these past 7 years with 5 conference finals and now their third Cup final in 6 years.

Great to hear you are progressing. Prayers for Jodi.

She's pretty lucky, I know there's hard work to get her to this point, to have an opportunity like this. Apparent that you have done a good job there Dad.

Hope you all had a great weekend. DS and I spent the weekend away, he hung out in the hotel with a cousin while I spent Saturday in some meetings. In the evening we attended our provincial sports hall of fame induction dinner and ceremony. Some of the Chicago area guys who follow the Blackhawks may remember a guy named Everett Sanipass, played about 120 games in Chicago. He was one of the athletes inducted last night.

Tonight we are waiting DW to return from their school trip to Montreal and Quebec City.

.

I went to bed when they were up 3-0. I enjoy watching hockey, but am not as knowledgeable about the sport/ history as I am others.

Well, finally getting some serious rain here in Northern New Jersey. Way overdue, now hopefully I won't have to listen to the guy in the cube office next to me ***** about him not being able to put his boat in the water. That's what you get for inheriting a cabin at the shallow end of the lake.

On the retirement plan front, had a bit of a brainstorm over the holiday weekend. Was at the campground where we have a Dutch Park park model trailer. I was dreading the idea of trying to sell a house in Jersey at the same time trying to find a house in Florida. Then I thought, we have what's basically a 400 square foot apartment on wheels. Why not ship it to a nice RV park in Florida, and when the house in Jersey sells, head south, and use the trailer as a base camp to house hunt down there. And if we like the campground, leave it there for weekends. Gotta think that's less stressful, as long as the trailer doesn't wind up as a pile of splinters alongside Rt 81.

Glad you're home. Wishing you a speedy recovery and praying for Jodi's sanity.

It certainly will be quite the adventure. I hope she enjoys her experience and gets a lot out of it. Hopefully she won't create an international incident and be denied entry. :rotfl2:

It should be an amazing adventure and she better take tons of pics.
And when she does, please share with the uncles. :thumbsup2

May she have safe travels and a great adventure! And good luck when you have to pick her up from the airport on her return.

I thought a live chat might be fun, so...

I started a chat channel using Internet Relay Chat (IRC - an old and awesome technology). The channel is called #DisChat

You can use it via your web browser at kiwiirc dot com

To smooth the process I took some screenshots.

When you go to the website above, click the "TRY ME" button.

On the next page you will see "server and network" under the Start button, click "server and network"...

Add your nickname...
In "Channel", make it #DisChat (just as you see it, # mark included)...
Server should read "irc.dal.net"...
Port can be left as is...

Click "Start" and let's chat Disney!

'Afternoon all...

My cubical at work greatly lacks the feel and vibe that I got from our stateroom aboard the Fantasy last week.
Withdrawal symptoms are in full force.

Hope all are well, Disney and bacon for all (tofu and Beverly for you enemies)

I'll try to catch up as I can (work is calling first though so... you know... may not get to it)

Travel update: Just talked to her in Jakarta. She made it to the hotel for a brief layover before continuing on to Sarong. Not much time to do anything but shower and get something to eat. She said the hotel is beautiful, not bad for $49 U.S. Five people had their luggage stay in Hong Kong and guess who one of those people were. Yep. The hotel was sympathetic and gave her an upgrade and had a toothbrush and toothpaste waiting in her room. Hope the luggage catches up with her because it is going to be a bear to get it to her final destination. No pics yet other than one from the Dallas airport Tarmac on Snapchat. Despite a long and bumpy flight and the luggage issue, she seems to be enjoying herself.
