Oh man, I would have been so stoked to get back to my classroom today, only to find school closed. But that didn't happen, instead I had 32 sleepy fifth graders. Well, all that damage doesn't sound good either.

Subzero temps here and a fresh coating of snow.

My normal 25 minute-ish commute took an hour today. Mother nature felt the need to reintroduce herself to Western PA. about 3" of snow and 2 hour delays for all the schools.

Sorry about winter starting to hit just a couple days coming off the holidays, that's a double whammy As much as I love Chicago I do not miss the snow impact. Gonna get into the single digits here with negative wind chill temps. For the guys at DDC3 looks like even WDW is getting hit with this cold with a forecast low of 35 tomorrow night

Ever since high school, Mondays were the days all the guys got together. Most of us still do it. It usually consists of cards, beer, MNF, or outdoor activity when it is light out.

No snow here. Looks like what we were supposed to get is headed south of us. It's Freakin cold though and expected to keep getting colder the next few days.

It is snowing as light as I've ever seen it snow before here. You have to really look closely to see it.

Ouch! 5K? Hope some of it is covered under your dental plan.

Good Morning Paul and all the dads. That DDCC3 is looking mighty tempting right now. Unfortunately the overlords have forced me to remain at work this week.

We don't get as much snow as you'd think. But what we get tends to stay for months. Also, supposedly its hard for it to snow when its this cold because there's so little moisture in the air. Shows what the weather people know.

At that point it is about the same, about -31 F.

I called Disney Parks Merchandise today and was chatting with a lovely CM about our weather in Pittsburgh and she made the comment about tomorrow being really cold at WDW. She said it was supposed to get into the 40s overnight.

Given the choice, I'd take WDW and 40's over the 20's and several inches of snow. I've experienced the chilly weather in FL and it's not fun, but I'd take it right now!

BIL plans to spend 5 days at Universal/Islands of Adventure. Even though I've never been, I don't think I want to return 5 days in a row. My DW is not into coasters, and one of his own kids isn't tall enough to ride most the rides. I'm thinking he's thinking he has a free baby-sitter.

Our boys keep asking to visit their grandparents in Wisconsin during the winter (we go back every summer). I've only been there once during the winter and there is no way I'm going back again that time of year.

Like many families, there is an ample amount of craziness on all sides in mine. We did take my MIL a few years ago and it wasn't bad. However, we planned on taking my SIL and her family and we were being debated on things every step of the way regarding the meal plan and room accommodations.

Usually it doesn't stay this cold for long, it is the windchill that makes it bad. Cold is one thing but when you add a strong, cold wind to the mix it really bites.

True that. It's the wind that gets you. There's no way to put on enough layers to make up for a strong. wind. If you have sunny skies and no wind it is possible to be outside for long periods when it is sub zero. But throw in a strong wind and it gets dangerous fast.

Been up for a while because, "I'm too excited to sleep." Plan is to leave around 11:00 but I still need to wake up the kid, pack, drop off the dogs, get snacks... Looking forward to seeing the World and wish all of you were able to join us in the festivities. I'll post some pics as we go on.

I am so over living up North. When I moved to NYC winters were fun at first. Then after falling on my a$$ on the ice and dealing with no sun and brutal cold, I said no more. It is supposed to be in the 30's tonight in Orlando which I am not looking forward to but the good news is it is warming up soon afterward. Stay safe guys.

True that. It's the wind that gets you. There's no way to put on enough layers to make up for a strong. wind. If you have sunny skies and no wind it is possible to be outside for long periods when it is sub zero. But throw in a strong wind and it gets dangerous fast.

We used to do family vacations together at times. Someone, usually my brother, would blow up. We would just laugh and open another beer. He would eventually have a cold one and start laughing with us. Feel for you Norm and anyone else that has to deal with family drama that doesn't end in humor.
