DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Top O the Morning Dads. I so miss the last two weeks of holiday and family time. Will do my best to post pics from our Christmas trip over the next couple of days. As others have already so accurately referenced the office is still here, chair is not as comfortable as what I have been sitting in and I really do prefer the family over the folks at the day job :lmao:

Again, to those down at DDC3 - enjoy :thumbsup2

Morning guys,

I just got home from work. There's no way I'd hear the alarm go off in an hour to get the kids ready for school so I'm staying up. Its been a real busy two weeks with the kids being home and putting in some OT at work. Over break Stretch built 15 of the 16 Lego sets he got for Christmas. Only one was more than he could handle and that was a 1000 piece monster meant for 9 and up. Peanut got more My Little Pony and doll stuff than she knows what to do with.

We've been looking into another surgeon for Stretch's ear. it seems like they recommend surgery for just about everyone they see. We might still go see them this summer but I'm not thrilled with someone so gung ho to do an operation.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a good start to the New Year. And any Lions fans, I feel your pain.
Good to hear that the kiddos enjoyed their Christmas and continued prayers for Stretch and your family as you navigate through this.
Good morning from Walt Disney World! I'll be posting pictures on the DISDads Travelogue. You can find a link to it on page one post three I believe. Easier then uploading to photo bucket

Have a magical day I am!
Enjoy guys!

Morning guys. The new year officially starts at work today with everyone back from vacation. I hope everyone has the best Monday possible.

Good Morning David. Can't believe I have to work 5 days this week and no holidays until the middle of February. It's going to be a looonnnggg day.:coffee:

Happy New Year. The only lego set DS never finished was the Star Destroyer. It wasn't that he couldn't, after a while he got bored and never went back. It's still 60% done and in the box.

Good luck with the doctor search. I have found that surgeons almost always opt for surgery.

Lions need a new coach and to cut Suh. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.:lmao::lmao:

Morning guys. Hope everyone is off to a good start to the week. To the guys headed down for DDCC3, have a blast!

Hey Paul. Happy New Year. Ditto to the guys at DDCC3. I'll get there one of these years.

Morning Guys.

I managed to find the office this morning after a 2 week break. It still looks the same.

They didn't move our office while I was gone either. As a matter of fact, they expected me to show up and left lots of extra work on my desk.:headache::mad::mad:

Morning guys. Back to a semblance of routine and normalcy hopefully. Kids back to school, including the walk to school in the freezing cold, something I didn't miss the past two weeks. Finally starting to feel like winter here. Have a good Monday everyone!

Morning Brent. In the 30's here. Supposed to have snow tomorrow and the high for Thursday is 14 degrees. Looks like the cold has finally arrived in New England.

DS goes back tomorrow but DW went back today for PD. They had to go to a different school though, a pipe broke in her school on New Year's day and caused quite a bit of damage, including most of the books in their library.

That stinks. Hopefully its a short term fix and they can get back to the routine soon. My kids are back today and neither were all too excited to be going. DS has mid terms next week.

‘Morning all…
Y’all gotten use to writing 2015 on every document yet? It surprised me to realize that we’re just about halfway through another decade. Where has the time gone?

On the upside it’s only three months before I’ll see another day off work.
…sigh…

You don't get Presidents Day off?!? That is the only thing keeping me going.:lmao::lmao:

I have been perfect writing 2015 so far this morning. It still has that new car shine. I'm sure by tomorrow everything will be incorrect again as usual.:headache:

Have a magical day I am!

Have fun storming the castle Randall. I hope you enjoy the week and the weather. You'll be crying next weekend after the Pats obliterate those purple pigeons.

The classrooms were ok, all the damage was contained to the library, main office and foyer. Some water got under the gym floor but they think they managed to save that.

Good morning fellow dads! And I hope all the DDCC3 dads enjoy storming the castle this week. We are looking forward to storming Sleeping Beauty Castle in 9 days!!

Hey Philip!:wave2: Are you sure you won't take me with you? I could use some vitamin D from the sunshine.:good vibes Have a great trip. There will be no storming going on here for a while.

Afternoon guys. My little mermaid wanted to dive and today was her only chance to do it. Jim, won't tell you the temp in Key Largo but the ice in my glass is quickly melting. Seriously my northern friends stay safe up there.

After reading through today's post, the general consensus is that going back to work following the holidays SUCKS. I agree and endorse this sentiment as well.

I noted to my co-workers walking to lunch that as soon as my girls graduate from college, I'll be in FL from Jan-March. Only 15 years to go.:scared1:

Isn't there a short pier for you to take a long walk on down there somewhere? :rolleyes1

Enjoy the warmth! We'll just keep freezing our butts off up here.

Monday afternoon? Time to go home. I managed to stay at the office past noon today.

They need to do a better job hiding it next break.

They should hide it. Great idea.

This office chair just doesn't feel as comfortable as the recliner that I was in yesterday.

Bring the recliner to work.

.

We need to have a 2 day workweek and 5 days off. These 5 half days at the office are difficult to manage.

Hey Philip!:wave2: Are you sure you won't take me with you? I could use some vitamin D from the sunshine.:good vibes Have a great trip. There will be no storming going on here for a while.

Wish I could take ya but don't think the luggage is big enough , lol, thank you, we will def try, some days the weather at DL is colder then Nashville so I imagine we will have some chilly races and park days. Overall cannot complain!

It may actually be closer than those ice cubes here.:headache:

Key Largo sounds like a nice place to visit, I'm still not sure why they keep letting you in, but have a great time anyway.

Looks like about 10 for me to get them out of college. Not sure I can last that long. If you play your cards right, they'll go to college in Florida and you can move early!

I'll be lucky to get out of here before bed time today. Serves me right for thinking I could take all that time off and there would be no penalty.

I would take half days as a consolation prize. I think CJ may need some help in Key Largo. Maybe I can find a customer down there to visit.:rolleyes1

I know I keep looking for a conference in Florida, preferably around Orlando.

Nope… Nothing till Good Friday. I’d trade one of the late holidays for a bit of a break in the high winter, but I don’t see my opinion counting for much at any point in the near.

Now, I do have a day and a half left over in 2014 vacation time. If I’m lucky I might be able to parlay that into a break somewhere in February or March. Need to find some kind of contrivance to use it up before the end of the first quarter or I‘ll lose it.

Ouch!
That’s pretty big club to be beating us minions with…

Good morning fellow dads! And I hope all the DDCC3 dads enjoy storming the castle this week. We are looking forward to storming Sleeping Beauty Castle in 9 days!!

Ouch again….
Now it’s coming from both directions.

I do hope all y’all have great trips though.

The classrooms were ok, all the damage was contained to the library, main office and foyer. Some water got under the gym floor but they think they managed to save that.

Not good…
One school I attended as a young’en lost its offices and library to unforeseen circumstances. But it was fire rather than water causing the havoc. May the cleanup be better than expected and may they get the school back into operation soon.

Even I’m jealous. It’s warmer here than most of the rest of the US, but not as nice as what y’all got goin’ on. Not to mention the temps will start plummeting ‘round here tonight. Enjoy the day and savor whatever it is that’s in that there glass.

Great plan… may it work.
We’ve only got a couple years of college time left, but I suspect we’ll be paying the tuition off for some time to come yet. Simi-retirement won’t be happening any time soon.

Ruined books is the worst crime imaginable.

‘Morning all… Y’all gotten use to writing 2015 on every document yet? I’d like to offer both of you a laurel… And hardy handshake /QUOTE]

As soon as I saw the picture I started laughing. One of the best movies ever.

So far so good. Only have had to sign off some beer recievals And I've dated them correctly. So far...

Yeah we don't get to Florida until the pavement starts melting. I think we are doing it wrong.

You only need to worry about sharks and freeloaders pulling a trailer up to your lawn. Must be nice.

Type... write... whichever...
Besides, I’m a bit of an antique.
A good bit of my software and most of the components are a might outdated.

I know I keep looking for a conference in Florida, preferably around Orlando.

Excellent idea. Oh wait…
I’m never allowed to attend any kind of outside conference.

Dang…

We could always invent one.:thumbsup2 Maybe a US/Canadian relations conference to prevent polar vortexes?!?:confused3

Dang…

Even if it could impact the environment and fosters Canadian and US relations?
