DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning gents, from an overcast London. Off to see Stevie Wonder this afternoon in Hyde Park, so that should be cool. I'm sure there will be some non pre-vacation diet refreshments included in today, so extra runs this week.
:cool1: Have a great time! Would love to see him perform. I bet it will be a wonderful show!

Morning boys.
Not a bad morning, except for having to work.
But plan on BBQing some filets later on, so that'll help make up for it.
If you have to work, that's a super way to follow it up! :thumbsup2

Get working on those stiff arms for the mad dash to Frozen Maelstrom. Would the IG entrance be easier?
This leads me to ask a stupid question (imagine that)...
Since the re-imagined Maelstrom is still out in the WS, does it open at the same time at the atractions in FW or does it wait until everything else out around the lake opens up later in the day? if it were option-B then the notion of rope drop wouldn't work very well

That's really interesting and quite a marketing technique. I just had a great marketing idea for a product named big b00b beer. :lmao:
I do believe that's the same marketing scheme that currently gets folks to buy expensive mediocre food down at the local Hooters.
It should work just as well for mass produced brew.

How do I get my hands on a couple of those?
Trust your instincts...
I don't believe you need know more than that.

Leave it to Rob to get us the answer..…
That's about my only appreciable value as a human...
purveyor of useless knowlage.

big b00b beer. outstanding when cold.
:lmao: :rotfl2:

Clever...
Can't say as I've seen that particular bit of expressive punctuation before

Afternoon, or whatever time it is I'm all messed up, gentlemen. Dinner at our favorite steak house for DS birthday today and other than that just reforming recliner to my bottom half and gonna watch the Euro championship match.
Happy Saturday. Played tennis this AM, one kid came home from a sleepover and the other one is leaving on a sleepover. I tried to get rid of them both the same day, but it didn't work out that way. DW is taking one shopping, so I get a few hours to myself this afternoon.
Hope you enjoyed some peace and quiet time
Have a good one, bud. That's one hell of a travel schedule.
Thanks and good to be home. Gotta unpack and pack again this week but it's for our Disney Cruise so I'll find a way to get through it :o

Happy Sunday. Worked out and cut grass this AM. Doing housework with DW and go to Mass tonite. Not a terrifically fun day, but an enjoyable enough one. On the road next week- not looking forward to that.

Except I'm not making the money from Hooters sales.

Enjoy the steak. I watched the first two sets of Wimbledon this AM but then had to start working.

Well, that didn't work out.
Had a crappy day at work which got worse later on.
Got a text that our new puppy was hurt and being taken to the ER vet.
Dislocated left hind leg growth plate.
Don't know if surgery will be required yet.
Poor thing can't move really right now.

Steaks turned into quick hotdogs.

I can't say that I remember it either (although I did see The Martian), but I think it's just become my favourite new thing. I may just start putting it randomly in (.Y.) sentences just because it is (.Y.) so entertaining. (I'm avoiding work here so (.Y.) don't judge...)

I watched the first two sets of Wimbledon this AM but then had to start working.
I caught the whole match. I was hoping Raonic might pull off an upset, but he did well to get as far as he did. The first Canadian man in a grand slam final.

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I hope the little gal does OK.
EDIT: noticed on your TR that she's going in for surgery. Sending good thoughts your way.

Morning Guys,

hope you all had a great weekend. We spent the weekend in Halifax for a basketball tournament. Declan's team finished 4th in the 12 team tournament, losing to the team his cousin plays for. My niece was also playing in one of the girls divisions and they finished 2nd. Overall a pretty good weekend. 1 practice, 4 scrimmages and another tournament to finish off this run for Declan. It will all be over by this time next week and he'll (and us) will get a much needed break.

Have a great Monday!

Congrats, prayers and pixie dust to all that need it.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Time difference and travel has my body clock all messed up, gonna take another day or two to get normalized I think.

Congrats and enjoy the down time when it arrives.

Monday again.:sad1: I say we skip to Tuesday like last week.

Hope all are well. DS returned from the mission trip yesterday. Enjoyed the trip, helping others and has a good case of poison ivy to deal with the next few days.

It wouldn't be an expensive month for me, but would be for my dds. I told them any overages come out their bank account. My oldest left one of her apps running and I caught it before we reached the limit, but she doesn't have much left until it resets. I'll turn it off before that.

We only have a 6 GB that we share 4 ways, so yes, everyone uses Wifi wherever possible.

Was able to switch to one of the new Verizon plans and offset all of the overage charges. It basically costs $15 more a month plus the taxes. DS will pay the additional per months charges for the additional data so not a bad way to do it. Without the change, the overage charges would have been almost $200. Basically he pays less than a one month overage to get additional data and avoid it in the future. The new plan also allows us to turn off the data once we hit the limit which we could not do before. All in all an acceptable solution.

had to come back and see for myself that it does still exist...

It's not really here, it's you imagination.

Hey Paul. Welcome back. See you in 8 months. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

That's called the ultimate incentive.

Wait.....what? Hot dogs  He's just a boy.

Hope the poor thing gets better quickly.

Less than 30 days until the Disney Trip. Have everything ready to go, I think. But it's the little details when travelling with three kids that always end up biting you in the butt.

Happy Monday. On campus this week with a group of almost 40. Not really sure why classes weren't divided, but that's beyond my pay grade. It's gonna be a long week.

Steaks turned into quick hotdogs.

Sorry to hear about the dog and not having steaks. Hot dogs are still good.

.

You can add extra Us to go along with the extra ( . Y . ) punctuation. :lmao:

It wasn't an epic match, but fun to watch. The whole McEnroe Lendl subplot was interesting as I remember them from watching tennis when younger. I like the serve n volley style, especially at Wimbledon. You have some good Junior Canadian players as well.

Congrats to Declan and your niece.

I just accept now that I'm going to forget something on vacation. It does help when they get older, but it's just a new set of things to forget.

Not a bad weekend. Congrats to those that deserve it (but not the cousin :p)!

Yes I remember McEnroe and Lendl as well from years ago. I paid fairly close attention to tennis as a teenager, then not so much after. I've started watching again in the last couple years. A Canadian won the Wimbeldon junior boys title, so it should be interesting over the next few years.
