Morning, Gents! Well, I'm 24 hours into my 2nd COVID shot and not a problem in sight. Well, ok, small one, my arm still hurts from the shot. Not bad considering all I've heard from those who got sick from the shot. Either way I'm feeling fine and ready to take on the day. Didn't hear from HR yesterday, so hoping to get to talk with them this morning because after 2 years of looking for work I start to get anxious people don't call me back. I'm sure it'll be fine, it's just my mind is playing tricks with me.
Not sure what you were quoting from me, but I did not say I had heartburn. Somehow the multiquoting got confused.
Honestly I couldn't say....I probably read it wrong. I'll take the day off of work and think about my mistake.
It's been another busy day. I'm hoping the 10 hour schedule will be better.
How does your schedule work, 4, 10 hour days?
Bad news on two fronts. First, a former co-worker, who is younger than me, was dx with colon cancer. Apparently, it was a large enough mass that the MD doing the colonoscopy wasn't able to remove it, and referred to a surgeon. It does make me reconsider continuing to work.
Man, that's harsh. I'll say a prayer for him.
Also, my new company's leave policy prohibits me from taking leave if my daughter makes it to HS Tennis State Championship. I told my boss that I wasn't planning on being at work regardless of the policy. Granted, she still has to win to qualify, and it wouldn't be until June. So, my new job may have an expiration date sooner than later. To be continued....
To be honest, I'd never rock the boat like this, however, you're in a spot where you at least have some income coming in if things didn't work out. However, if you've worked hard and and your boss likes you as a result, maybe they'll let you take time off without pay. Worth a shot.
Moderna or Pfizer? I had Pfizer, which I've heard had less side effects.
Moderna, and I actually feel good today.
If you have a 4-6 hour dosage, then you can alternate acetominophin & ibuprofen every 2 hours.
I popped some Tylenol a couple of times yesterday and plan to today as well.
Busy. I guess that's good.
Busy is good.
Permanent is good. Still in medical field?
Yes, still in the medical field. I'll be working as a receptionist, which is fine with me because I can continue to work in EPIC, which could lead to other possibilities. That's the thought, anyways.
Years ago...I was interviewing for a job and had mentioned how my wife was in Fl with foster kids and I had to go pick them up in a week, no ifs ands or buts. I said I could delay my start date if needed, but the boss was cool and just told me to take the 2 days needed and not worry about it
That's awesome when you have bosses that'll do that. When I got married 15 years ago I had just accepted a new job. As a result of my wedding, the HR manager allowed me to shift my start date instead of letting me take time off without pay. Not sure if that was the best way to go or not, but I thought it was cool of her to do that.
That's funny, I might have nightmares because of it, but that was funny.
