Top O the Morning Dads!

First basketball game of the season is over. Our team got blown out. We were down by 10 at one point, and I'm not sure of the final score. However, younger dd played really well. For one of the younger players on the court, she led our team in points, blocks, and steals. And, she defended the other team's 2 best players. Unfortunately, it looks like our team was given the left over players. We had two added on the week before the game started, and they were out other two better players. The rest of the team looked clueless. I might try a four corners offense.

Sorry about the tough draw of players. I had coached both the loaded teams and not so loaded teams back in the day. I love winning but having fun and taking those not so loaded teams and developing them were some of the best. Still see a kid at DS HS who is keeper for HS soccer team and he always says hi coach and has said thanks for coaching me all those years when I was not very good - that beats any trophy when ya think about it.

I try to use the force to make my kids sit down or close their mouths. It isn't working. Help me obi wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Agreed. I've had both teams before as well. And, it is a bit more satisfying to coach the team with less talent and defeat the other loaded teams. I have always made a goal to have every player score on a team. That's been more difficult at soccer, but I have only had a few kids over all the years that didn't. But, I gave them the opportunity. In last night's game, only two of their players handled the ball all night, and only one other had a rebound & basket. I just don't think that is the right strategy coaching in developmental leagues. I'm hoping the other teams aren't as stacked as the one we played last night.

Afternoon guys,

Sicker than a dog the last couple of days. Almost went to the ER Monday night. Instead I drove down to Key Largo yesterday and leave tomorrow. Cheaper than going to the ER. Haven't been able to do much including sleeping or eating but at least I am in the Keys. My prescription seems to be working though and I feel a bit better. #hackingupalunginKL

Guys... we got back from our cruise on Oasis of the Seas yesterday, been very hectic trying to get back in the swing of things.

Finished up two full days of meetings here in Ottawa, heading for home in the morning. Nice to meet up with my colleagues from around the country but it's great to go home.

Good morning guys. Prayers and good vibes for all #grouphug, lol

Last night was the start of DD's 4th grade basketball tournament. It was over before they started. They had a great season, but ran up against a team that could score at will. The coach called them off after scoring 30 before halftime. A lot of the girls were upset, but they played hard until the final buzzer. I'm really proud of them all.

Seems my self prescribed medication to fight this did not work. Heading back to Miami to see my doctor. Not worried, but last night was not a good one. Waving the white flag on letting this run its course and seeing what medical science can do.

Hey Brian, all mighty and powerful controller of the universe, as well as other IT dads. A couple of years ago, you guys gave me some recommendations for virus/bug/bad stuff scans I could download for free. I just got a new work laptop and we have have bought a used laptop for the kids to do school on, but I forgot the program I had on my old work computer (it died a painful death). Can you guys do me a favor and give me some ideas?
