Hey Brian, all mighty and powerful controller of the universe, as well as other IT dads. A couple of years ago, you guys gave me some recommendations for virus/bug/bad stuff scans I could download for free. I just got a new work laptop and we have have bought a used laptop for the kids to do school on, but I forgot the program I had on my old work computer (it died a painful death). Can you guys do me a favor and give me some ideas?

David - I like to use Malwarebytes.

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Just make sure you uncheck the "free 30 day trial" of their full-version when going through the initial setup.

It's not a real-time scanning tool, but it grabs most all malware and spyware when you sense there is a problem.

For a real time scanning tool (although it does let some things slip through) I download the Microsoft Security Essentials

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download

Between these two tools, you should be able to keep your PC "clean" :thumbsup2

'Morning all...

Morning Duck.

Seems my self prescribed medication to fight this did not work. Heading back to Miami to see my doctor. Not worried, but last night was not a good one. Waving the white flag on letting this run its course and seeing what medical science can do.

Not good...
May you get in to see the Doc fairly quick and may it be fixable.

I believe I need to get in to see a doctor or two myself.
there are a couple things going on that just ain't quite right and it's starting to raise my concerns a might.

AVG is free and pretty consistent.
Been using that one for a good while now.

Top O the Mornin Dads & happy Friday Eve!

Good morning guys. Prayers and good vibes for all #grouphug, lol

Last night was the start of DD's 4th grade basketball tournament. It was over before they started. They had a great season, but ran up against a team that could score at will. The coach called them off after scoring 30 before halftime. A lot of the girls were upset, but they played hard until the final buzzer. I'm really proud of them all.
Sorry about the end of the season and kudos to the other coach for calling off the dogs.

Hope you get better soon. I say this as it applies to me, getting older just seems to make it harder to fight things off and and takes longer to recover from stuff :confused3

As I take a word from the Randall dictionary...... 'REALLY?'

I think as long as it's a selfie. Something with a caption like, "Building's on fire, guess I should go. lol ;P

Been in contact with a few DISDads and felt I would ask you all to join me again in praying for our fellow DISDads. There seems to be a unusual amount of bad luck and depression in our little group and I would like to see us all praying for all our Bother Dads.

Be Good, Be Well, Be Smart, Be Wise and Be Happy!
Done!

Rob probably can't wait till this thread gets shut down so he can stop posting #stupidpeople.

How many #stupidpeople do you have to go through before you find the #stupidestofall ?

Slow day in the clubhouse.

I at least have an excuse. I've been working some magic with DVC Member services and Southwest to book a 3rd Birthday trip for Ryder for this March. (Don't worry, the whole family is going, not just him.)
I had booked a 1 bedroom at the Beach Club a few months ago. As I've been looking at flights, thought, it was significantly cheaper to shift the dates up just a bit. I was able to get 5 tickets down to Orlando for $700. Then with combining our Rapid Rewards points I booked the flights back home with points.

So, just like his older brother and sister, Ryder gets his 3rd birthday at Walt Disney World. Damn I wish I had me as a parent when I was growing up. :lmao:

Killer deal on flights! Glad MS was able to work some magic for you. Take lots of pictures of the Beach Club. That is Juliana's choice for our trip next year. We are thinking the 3rd week of August- that is if we are able to get a room there. Hoping for a studio... trying to save on points.

Oh, and I see you're doing the final trip before Ryder needs a ticket. We did that in September with Christopher. :rolleyes1

Me too :lmao:

Yesterday, i got my flu shot and played tennis, not at the same time. I am extra sore today - do I have the flu? My annual physical is next Wed, so maybe I'll be sick by then and can get some Meds.

Slow day in the clubhouse.

There have been quite a few slow days in the club house. Too many people working.

A bump? C'mon man!

People still play solitaire? #oldschool

I play solitaire on my iPad. Am I middle school? :lmao:

Hope you feel better soon and it's not the flu.

Congrats on the season. You must be a terrible coach if the other team put up 30 before half as I can't imagine there would be any team stacking in the 4th grade. I enjoy sports but don't get the whole administrative team stacking so that one team can dominate other teams. At least they played hard - that is worth it.

ITS ALIVE!

Doctor diagnosed me with Atypical AKA "Walking" Pneumonia. Not as bad as it sounds. Prescribed antibiotics and said I should feel better in a couple of days.

Busy day between the doc, picking up the dogs at the vet and dropping the Brit off at the airport. Going to relax with an adult beverage and some TV. Oh wait, adult beverages and antibiotics are a no no. BEVERLY!

Now you know and knowing is half the battle. Of course, some good antibiotics will definitely take care of the other half. Feel better soon!

Would you like to adopt a middle-aged man from Virginia?

Drink more beer... you'll be fine.

I figured people moved up to mine sweeper or something. :lmao:

Better to have walking pneumonia than to be walking dead.

GI Joe.

ad.

Funny how drinking beer is the solution to most any problem. :thumbsup2

I may have had that before, or maybe it was one of my dds. Get better soon.

Nice Barry! The good stuff you do at a parent like this has to offset at least some of the bad habits you teach them. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Haven't we all???? :confused3 :lmao: Taking DD to the World and the land just a couple of months before she turns 3. :thumbsup2

Flu shot was awful this year. They usually don't bother me at all, but I was sore for a day and a half after I got my shot. :headache:

Sorry CJ. Take care of yourself and get better. I think you'll be just fine mixing Beverly and the antibiotics though.

In fact, that might even help make you better. :rotfl:
